This place is amazing. The two men who own this shop are the nicest most amazing and knowledgeable people you will ever meet. I recently lost my father and was gifted this peace lily from his funeral. I successfully killed it in the matter of a couple weeks. I took my sad plant to their little shop explained what was going on and how much this plant meant to me. He showed me what pot to buy (which I knew I was gonna need) and they repotted it for free with the purchase of the ceramic pot with drip tray. Gave me a quick plant lesson on how to care for it and sent me on my way. It's officially 6 months later and my peace lily has now bloomed and is thriving. This is my second time buying something from The Plant Gays. Came to get information on how to properly care for a plant I previously purchased. Left with two more plants and a new pot! The shop is fun. David, the owner is helpful and good at helping you pick out the right plant for the right lighting, plus he explains how to keep plants alive (which I am so very bad at-but getting better with his help!) Learned he even makes some of his own pots. Which is so cool! Plants were reasonably priced. The two I purchased were about 17 bucks. The pots were a bit more but the quality was excellent. I am sure I will be back as I gain more confidence in being a plant mom! read more

I love plants, and love to be able to stop at plant stores when I'm out and about, so it's so great to have this shop on the East Market, grab a bite to eat, enjoy a drink, and plant shop- what's not to love?! For a small space they offer lot! Houseplants, succulents, cacti, merchandise to help care for plants and plant themed fun items. I have a LOT of plants but I'm still able to find things I don't already have here. Staff is always friendly and can answer questions about care for the plant. Prices are very comparable other plant stores, but I love the ease of shopping, parking is free in the lot outside. Definitely will be getting more plants here soon! read more

Super cute little shop! They had a decent verity despite it being side the market. Everything looked so beautiful and healthy! There was one employee who was super helpful and really nice! There were so many things I wanted so I definitely will be back! I also saw they have an only shop as well that you can get delivered with in 10 miles or schedule for pick up. I might utilize that feature next time. Especially when it's busy at the market. I got a beautiful succulent and air plant! The succulent was apart of an event but I payed $6-$7 for the air plant which I think is definitely a reasonable price! There were also some useful plant care tools! Stopped into the East Market today heading to check out The Plant Gays to pick up a little gift. I had such a great experience I wanted to hop on Yelp and leave them a review. I easily found street parking and made my way into the front entrance of the Historic Trolley District: East Market. The shop is located in the front center, just behind the foyer of the main entrance. This was my first time visiting The Plant Gays and met David who was working the shop today. I would have never thought I would have so much fun talking about plants, plant care, types of options for different environments, and learning more about thier business and services! There is all kinds of cute stuff here. After browsing a bit, I picked out a Norfolk Island Pine, and also found a cute cactus and a fun looking air plant. The cactus and air plant were perfect for two decorative little planters that I have been wanting to put something in for a while. In addition to the variety of plants, they have gifts & accessories like watering cans, little jars of moss, plant tools, spray bottles and much more. They have different types of planters, vases, and offer plant services too. You can schedule in-home design service, or schedule a re-potting service and bring your plant in (or they can do a home visit for larger plants). Stopping in made my day. First time at the East Market and at The Plant Gays. The Plant Gays is the only store that sells plants in the East Market. Don't be fool by the size of the store. It's a small store but packs a lot of stuff. There are so many different types of plants and others things like pots, candles and ornaments. There are many different things you can pick for yourself or for a gift. Soon as I entered the store a gentleman welcomed us and showed us different types of plants and when we picked the plant that we liked, he repotted it and gave us instructions on how to take care of it. The business is in the East Market in the Historic Trolley District. This was our first trip to the East Market, and we had a great time. This is such an adorable shop in the East Market! Great parking is available and there are tons of other vendors to visit for snacks after you shop for tons of awesome plants, plant accessories, and locally made giftables. They have lots of smaller plants and event planters for them-- you could create a really adorable indoor garden just from visiting this one shop. I loved the little plant hats they have for cacti. So cute. The owners are in the shop almost every day meeting with customers, and they even have some of their own artisan-made work, like unique pottery, available for sale. It's the type of place where you stop in and sort of want everything. I especially enjoyed all of the little jarred living mosses they have, and the adorable Christmas ornaments they have in stock right now. read more

Located inside the Historic Trolley District: East Market, The Plant Gays is a unique vendor within the space. It's a bright and lively focal anchor to the market. It sits on the opposite end of The Railhouse. The gentleman who was working (I presume as one the owners), greeted me warmly, and asked if he could help me select a plant or gift. He asked if I had other plants in my home and I was ashamed to admit I didn't. When I told him I was just there to check out the business, and visit the market for the first time, he helpfully directed me to a spread of greenery that might suit my needs as a novice. I was really surprised by his selection for me, given his limited vendor space. I selected a small Norfolk Island pine that had a cute reindeer planter adornment - merry and festive for the season. Again I don't exactly have a green thumb, but he instructed me on how to care for it and assured me it wasn't a difficult plant to keep happy. I think I can do it! Lol. I ordered a bouquet for a friend who lost her grandmother through doordash, although that was not my go to choice. I did call the number listed 3x for various questions since I live out of state now. No one answered the phone calls, which was quite frustrating and almost made me avoid purchasing from here. However, it is Pride Month and we wanted to support an LGBTQ+ business so we purchased and did it through doordash, the guy who delivered the bouquet said it was nice. Wish we could have been in contact with the shop so we could have our questions answered. Maybe it's a wrong number listed? Not sure. read more
