When I was managing larger teams, I'd order catering for my associates pretty regularly. The food was always fresh, well-packaged, and ready on time. I honestly can't remember ever having an issue. The fresh food bar is one of my favorite things about the store, and their produce is consistently some of the best you'll find. I also always stop by the deli for their freshly sliced cheeses and turkey. The bakery and prepared meals are excellent too, and everything just feels higher quality than your average grocery store. The store is always clean, well-organized, and the staff is genuinely helpful. Wegmans has set the bar for grocery stores, and I wish there were more of them.

When I see it on a business, my thought immediately is "hmm... so this is the best they could offer?" and walk away. I'm glad I let go of that anti-font bias and walked into Harris Teeter. It's clean, hasn't been busy the times I've gone, and the employees are super nice. While some of the prices are a little high, being most recently from South Florida, they haven't completely thrown me for a loop. Sure, I often find myself going in specifically for a handful of things and walking out with a full cart, but I always feel like I get my money's worth-- especially when you time sales well and are willing to venture from your usual brands. For example, today I bought two boxes of a different brand of pasta than I usually buy (but needed to get two boxes anyhow) and got three more boxes for free. Pair that with BOGO Pasta sauce for the days I'm too lazy to make my own and we have a winner. Usually I just cruise the aisles for whatever deals I can find, assess whether it makes sense to buy something like five boxes of pasta, and go from there. If you're into planning, the e-VIC option is super helpful, and I LOVE how green the store is-- I don't even have to print out my coupons since they're right on my VIC card. Brilliant. Today I saved $68 before coupons, and I feel that despite walking out the door spending $120, I got my money's worth. Of the local stores that I've been in so far, I'm thrilled with how nice the vegetables look and how long they last in my house. When it's been a week since I've gone shopping and I can still eat the extra grapes I bought on sale, I'm sold. Now I also know that there are tons of farmers markets and farm stands around, and once I learn more of the area will primarily rely on them for my in-season produce, but it's nice to know I can just head to Harris Teeter and find what I need and not be disappointed by it.

That's cool and all but here's the issue with that: I do Instacart and I work this store a lot since it's one I'm familiar with. Most of my gigs are "Food Lion Now." So, even though it's contract work, I represent the store. By shewing me off to another lane with more wait time not only hurts my stats, but it also hurts the store. I work a lot of different stores and I have to say that this is the one that is consistently OUT of many items. Today I did a run and half of my customer's order was not stocked. This seems to be the only store I work that's always out of items. Also, it's the daytime employees that seem most disgruntled. Like, not wanting to answer my questions, ignoring the fact that they're stocking and area I'm shopping and unwilling to move their cart out of the way, avoiding eye contact or just plain rude during checkout. I don't know what's up with this location, maybe it's management. I keep coming back for my personal shopping because it's the few great employees that keep me here. I love how clean the store and the have, however; I am saddened to witness irresponsible people inside the store without wearing a MASK! This is unacceptable, especially when you post individuals at the door reminding shoppers to wear a mask due to COVID19. The Gold Pan meals I tried were tasty but they were pricy. I love their Hi-Pro milk! The store is spacious and I never felt crowded by other shoppers. Overall, I think their groceries are a bit overpriced compared to competitors. Wegman's keeps mailing me 10% coupons, so that helps! Also, shopping the Hot Zones and using their app for coupons can help reduce cost further.
