This place is a neighborhood staple and it's no wonder why! Right off state street, you may be mistaken when you walk into formerly known "frenchy's" as it's indeed not a French restaurant. We walked in and there was one woman working there, a black woman with locs. She had THE nastiest attitude, didn't greet us or anything; her only acknowledgment of us was to ask for our IDs, and she wasn't nice about that either. I found this place close to the hotel we where staying at. When we entered the worker nicely and immediately let us know that he goes by the pronouns of he/him. I decided to style and profile my way on over to Frenchy's for a little adult action. There were no ladies available to ride (woo!) After being insulted multiple times with questions like, "You're clearly the man in this relationship, aren't you?" my partner and I left feeling violated and just plain gross. On top of that, she also insulted our age and, on multiple counts, made comments that inferred that we had no idea what sex even was. This was not a good experience at all. The woman was unabashedly rude and ignorant, clearly only concerned with heterosexual sex and LGBT stereotypes. Of course, living in the heteronormative society we find ourselves in, the whole hetero sex thing and no knowledge of anything other than that can be a bit more excusable. However, the bigoted insults are completely unacceptable. Other than that, the only thing the woman insulting us could seem to talk about was "[her] man". The men filing out of the back "porn room" just made the whole rest of the experience uncomfortable. Overall terrible place. For a long time and I mean more than a few years, I've enjoyed mostly superior service and have had a fairly nice time in the Chicago location. The female manager at this location is always friendly and informative and any complaint I've had in the past (which aren't many) has always been met with concern and action. This event i'm about to mention does NOT involve her though. It involves one of the male employees working there on Monday, May 16, 2016 at around 1:50 pm. I came in, paid for $5 worth of tokens and a condom and went into the arcade to watch a video. I came out of a booth after watching a video, and the employee, instead of being out on the sales floor, was back there appearing to be spying on people or looking for people to kick out due to whatever activity he presumed was taking place. He claimed that he saw me coming out of a booth with someone else. However, when I saw him, he was actually standing towards the entrance of the arcade area and not visibly able to see me actually coming out of a booth with anyone. I have never in my life been kicked out of any establishment largely because I mind my own business and respect the rules of the establishment. I feel that this was uncalled for and was done intentionally. I am not faulting the store manager who wasn't there and who has always treated all of her customers with courtesy and respect. The guy working that afternoon (I didn't get a name, but he has a beard and he had glasses)...I think I've only seen him there once or twice and never had any altercation with him at all. I could not believe that any of that occurred in all the years I'd been going there and all the money I've spent at this location. I will find the store manager and talk to her about this as well, and while I never have a reason to take to Yelp for anything, I had to this time. There wasn't anyone causing a scene or making noises or being unruly to anyone back there while I was back there watching videos, so I can only suspect that this was an intentional act by this employee to find someone to kick out for whatever reason. If something is not addressed about this, I will most definitely cease my attendance at this establishment and give my money elsewhere. read more
