joslyn was so helpful and amazing when it came to finding my outfit aswell as nice small talk 10/10 will be back! spend 80 on 3 outfits definitely worth the price read more

This place is a neighborhood staple and it's no wonder why! Right off state street, you may be mistaken when you walk into formerly known "frenchy's" as it's indeed not a French restaurant. This store is very well kept and clean. There is a lot of bachelorette and gag gifts as well as lingerie, toys and smoking products. Highly recommend stopping in and speaking to Eric as he is very knowledgeable and friendly. All the staff here don't make you feel weird or uncomfortable for asking a question, they truly are there to help. It's also nice supporting a local small business! read more

We walked in and there was one woman working there, a black woman with locs. She had THE nastiest attitude, didn't greet us or anything; her only acknowledgment of us was to ask for our IDs, and she wasn't nice about that either. I knew right then that I wouldn't buy a thing from this store, but we had dinner reservations nearby, so we decided to make the most of it. We stayed and browsed to pass the time. She was nasty the entire 20 minutes we were there. The merchandise was cute and I totally would've bought a few things had it not been for her; I can buy those items anywhere and won't buy them from someone with a nasty personality. She should work elsewhere if her job makes her that unhappy; taking it out on two people who visited Chicago from out of town just isn't it. read more

Visiting from out of town and found the shop to be a delight! Maya was especially wonderful, very professional and kind

I found this place close to the hotel we where staying at. When we entered the worker nicely and immediately let us know that he goes by the pronouns of he/him. He seemed to make everyone feel comfortable being in the store and with whatever questions they might've had. He also stayed on top of the regulated capacity in the store which was a plus. He knew the products, gave suggestions, advice and was hilarious and a joy to be around. I will definitely return here for my sisters bachelorette party coming up. Thank you Mr. Odd for your great customer service! read more

I had the most exciting experience and it was all because of a woman named Jennifer who looked like me and made me feel comfortable. I asked a million questions and got honest answers. I will definitely be back! read more

Man at the front desk was very welcoming and sweet, was very knowledgeable about all of the products. Was very nervous at first because they apparently used to have a video arcade but they got rid of it years ago and it's completely closed off. Guy said 80% of his customers are now female. I told him it was my first time using a toy and he was very informational and polite. As a SA survivor it's very difficult to deal with sexuality but I felt very respected and safe here! read more

I am sooo appreciate that Aaron was so helpful and made me comfortable transitioning to my exotic side. He told me in details what meant what. He is THE BEST! Would high recommend! read more

Me & the Mrs. Had a date night and was feeling spontaneous. So we decided to check out this adult store that we never been to because we were in the area. To start off, It was a black guy with dreads that was working this particular night. Didn't have any knowledge on the products in the store. He also had a rude attitude, like he didn't want to be there or didn't want to be bothered by any customers. This store has a very small selection of items. And some of the items that they have looked cheap and out dated. Not to be negative or anything but as a customer I was very disappointed. I suggest you shop somewhere else besides this store. Because This place Is a joke and a waste of your time. I will not shop at this place again, and I highly recommend you don't either. read more

Y'all should've bigger signs to tell the customers should wear mask when entering because that girl last night shouldn't have to constantly tell people to put their mask on smh I felt bad for her cause people was getting mad at her for no reason. But anyway she was nice and friendly I enjoyed her conversation she did real good and kept my girlfriend & me happy till the end. read more

It doesn't have the biggest selection I've seen by far but it's not bad. The cashier Leanna was very knowledgeable and friendly. I had fun chatting and joking around with her. Great atmosphere! read more

Ah, Frenchy's. Once upon a time, I worked at Tucci Benucch in the Bloomindale's building, which is due east of here. And you know, a man has needs. Don't worry, it was always AFTER work. read more

I don't have much experience shopping at Adult stores so this may not be accurate. However, the shopkeep was very professional. I thought this place was going to be dirty and sleazy like I'd seen in movies. But Frenchy's is quite the opposite. It is well lit and clean. Are the products sleazy? Conservative and boring people may think so. I call them pleasure-enhancing. read more

This place offers u the basic stuff (condoms, potions, nail polishers, some dildos toys, magazines and of course some videos) the main reason for most of the male customes to come at this place is the booth service at the back of the store, wich is pretty good, it gets cleaned once in a while on a daily basis , u have to pay a $3 dollars fee to get in the back booths and u will get some coins to use inside and check the previews of the videos they have. staff is very friendly and discreet, they dont ask u any questions and they dont care what u do back there, of course as long as u dont do anything stupid... Once u are back there, there are like 10 available booths with video previews, all u have to do is just get in and insert the coins on the machine. Maybe there are gonna be some guys wandering around looking for some action so its all up to you to leave the door open or not. Be warned ! There is a glory hole beetween the last two booths on the right so u are ether gonna stay away from it or try to get in it depends on what u looking for. Its such a shame that there is only one glory hole cuz usually most of the guys they come here for that, so this place would be a huge hit if they open a glory hole on all of the booths. (one less star for that) An advise? Relax and try to have fun thats all, be clean and dont be wandering around too much just get in a damn booth read more

The overnight guy (African American, 5'9", looks like he hasn't showered in days) is a complete idiot! He doesn't know how to follow directions when you ask for a specific product, and he over changed me as well! When I figured out his mistake, he didn't even know how to do an exchange or refund. Nice going genius! If I return, if he's behind the counter, I'll leave and come back when there is someone who knows what they are doing! read more

I decided to style and profile my way on over to Frenchy's for a little adult action. There were no ladies available to ride (woo!) Space Mountain, so I had my limo driver take me over there so I could see what was shakin' daddy. Frenchy's is probably the cleanest adult book store in the city. In most of the other places, I'd have JJ Dillon open the door for me because the Nature Boy doesn't touch filth. It's small on the inside, but they've got an pretty good, though limited selection of pornos, Wangadoodles and lady part simulators that made Slick Ric not feel so lonely. They have a section in the back where they screen some of the special movies, but I didn't want to go back there and risk having to rake the eyes of some mouth breather. All in all, this was a good experience for the Nature Boy, and when the limo dropped me off at my luxury hotel later that evening, I knew that I was the man, because I was going to beat the man! Woo! read more

Found the perfect toy last night! It's super quiet which initially feels creepy until you chat up Eric at the front desk and he becomes a real human, as opposed to the statue he seems like. It's quaint so you either find something you like or you don't,pretty quickly. read more

This is a marvelous book store, to say the least. But the State Street location means that some lowdown types might want to go elsewhere. There really isn't anything here that you couldn't find online, but if you want to look at adult books with other... adults... come here. read more

NOT LGBT*+ friendly at all. Terrible customer service. After being insulted multiple times with questions like, "You're clearly the man in this relationship, aren't you?" my partner and I left feeling violated and just plain gross. On top of that, she also insulted our age and, on multiple counts, made comments that inferred that we had no idea what sex even was. This was not a good experience at all. The woman was unabashedly rude and ignorant, clearly only concerned with heterosexual sex and LGBT stereotypes. Of course, living in the heteronormative society we find ourselves in, the whole hetero sex thing and no knowledge of anything other than that can be a bit more excusable. However, the bigoted insults are completely unacceptable. Other than that, the only thing the woman insulting us could seem to talk about was "[her] man". The men filing out of the back "porn room" just made the whole rest of the experience uncomfortable. Overall terrible place. I would never recommend this place to anyone I cared about, especially an LGBT*+ person. read more

help! someone throw me in a shower i feel so dirty for even walking in. because this "adult book store" also has "viewing rooms" it's hard not to stare and feel violated all at the same time when men (i have seen walking out at lunch time!) come out of the viewing rooms, hands in their pockets, satisfied from the "view." frenchy's screams "dirty dirty dirty porn shop" - with not-user-friendly-accessories for women (this place is hands down, for men); products only porn stars or nymphos would use and dirty (and i mean they looked like someone had them for 20 years) stuffed animals in every sexual position imaginable just above the register on a shelf (isn't there enough decor around the shop with the packaging alone??). i went in to get things for a bach party, which is convenient since it's close to my home (a friend of mine actually use to live above, and was scarred by the creepy men that walk in and out of the shop daily). the cashiers have always made me feel weird and they're not as friendly, they're just doing their job..."selling porn." head to G Boutique or Tulip for a more friendly, relaxed and uncreepy experience...(those are especially female-friendly) read more

I liked the place. I love the video arcade, no problems, some guys hanging out all looking like everyone you see at an adult book store...I go there when I'm horny and need a safe place to have a little fun. Been there forever and everyone knows what it is...so you don't need to try to 'sneak' in...go in and have a good time. read more

I ended up coming here with a friend. And then we checked out the store. They ended up mentioning something about an arcade in the back. So me liking video game I ended up wanting to check it out. I end up going to get some tokens to go to the back. I end up getting back there and they have all these booth. I took my tokens and got in the booth and was highly disappointed when I saw porn instead. So some trolls nearby I ended up avoiding them. There was a hot guy there along with another hot guy I wanted to try something but wasn't sure what to do. So those two ended up hooking up I used to have a couple more tokens nothing happened so I just decided to leave. Have fun and be safe if you decide to go on the background. read more

Came here last weekend before I went to dinner with my friends. It's alot cleaner then I thought it would be, nice selection of everything and reasonable prices. I bought me a couple of things, but im not going to say what. The lady that was working was really nice and helpful. We paid a dollar and we got 4 tokens to go back there where they have the booths where you can watch porn, we just went back there to laugh honestly. I heard to many OOHS and AAHS and my friends were laughing to loud so it was time to go. read more

A great place to buy a last minute hostess gift, Frenchy's has a great little selection - from novelty items to a huge selection of magazines, from toys and electronics to herbal supplements and videos, this place has a little bit of everything. Considering its business, this place does not make you feel like a perv when you walk in. Rather, you can feel pretty comfortable going about your business without being stared at or bothered. One very interesting thing about this place is that they actually have a sign posted when you enter that says that there is a $2.00 deposit for browsing (or maybe it was just $1.00), though I've never been charged. Maybe my aura doesn't shine a bright red or something. read more

One of the better adult book stores Chicago, at least the ones that I have been to. Good fair prices on everything. Could use a bit more DVD selection though, but they have a good magazine selection though. Haven't used the video booth, but the movies shown seem pretty good. People who work there are cool, helpful, and make it less awkward buying a porno mag. For the ladies, the vibrator dildo section is pretty big. Only downside is the location, as every other adult store it's not very discrete, it's located on a kinda busy street, and this is next to a family pizza rest. read more

May seem creepy from the outside, but very clean and friendly on the inside. i was pleasantly surprised. Bought some porn and massage oil in the past and the cashiers were always friendly and helpful, never sleazy. Well-lit, well-stocked for men and women. Don't be afraid, this is a hidden gem. read more

I was interested in buying an item that I was unfamiliar with, and I asked the sales rep for help. She was exceptionally rude. I've never written a review but I thought that not only was this bad sales behavior in general, but even more so in a sex toy shop. It was embarrassing to be spoken to that way. read more

A very good place to go for some fancy things, the service is great and the ower who is a cool yong guy is owsome

For a long time and I mean more than a few years, I've enjoyed mostly superior service and have had a fairly nice time in the Chicago location. The female manager at this location is always friendly and informative and any complaint I've had in the past (which aren't many) has always been met with concern and action. This event i'm about to mention does NOT involve her though. It involves one of the male employees working there on Monday, May 16, 2016 at around 1:50 pm. I came in, paid for $5 worth of tokens and a condom and went into the arcade to watch a video. I came out of a booth after watching a video, and the employee, instead of being out on the sales floor, was back there appearing to be spying on people or looking for people to kick out due to whatever activity he presumed was taking place. He claimed that he saw me coming out of a booth with someone else. However, when I saw him, he was actually standing towards the entrance of the arcade area and not visibly able to see me actually coming out of a booth with anyone. I have never in my life been kicked out of any establishment largely because I mind my own business and respect the rules of the establishment. I feel that this was uncalled for and was done intentionally. I am not faulting the store manager who wasn't there and who has always treated all of her customers with courtesy and respect. The guy working that afternoon (I didn't get a name, but he has a beard and he had glasses)...I think I've only seen him there once or twice and never had any altercation with him at all. I could not believe that any of that occurred in all the years I'd been going there and all the money I've spent at this location. I will find the store manager and talk to her about this as well, and while I never have a reason to take to Yelp for anything, I had to this time. There wasn't anyone causing a scene or making noises or being unruly to anyone back there while I was back there watching videos, so I can only suspect that this was an intentional act by this employee to find someone to kick out for whatever reason. If something is not addressed about this, I will most definitely cease my attendance at this establishment and give my money elsewhere. read more
