The service was incredible! The workers were all super friendly and knowledgeable and left us very comfortable with asking questions we had. The prices are reasonable and the store feels very safe and welcoming. There's a big variety things for people of all experiences and tastes to include some very nice impact toys and other adult toys of all styles. They also offer a discount for military which was very nice to find out. They offer workshops, but we were unfortunately unable to attend any due to our schedule. Visiting the Pleasure Chest was a fantastic and positive experience. First off, even though this is in a busy part of Chicago, Pleasure Chest has its own private parking lot. Yessssss! I hate parking in Chicago. Once you get inside, you're going to be astounded by how organized and how many options are there - even though the store isn't particularly huge. I've definitely seen larger toy stores - and honestly, the wide-angle professional shots of the store make it look *way* bigger than it is. That being said, "bigger isn't necessarily better". The store has a good variety for the size as well as demo copies of most of the toys. In addition to being so beautiful and well-organized, the sections are pretty easy to figure out once you start walking around. I'd really prefer some sort of signage, but you'll figure it out. There's a kegel section, greeting cards, bachelorette, lubes, safe sex (including dental dams!), transgender, realistic strap-on toys, wireless toys, bondage clothing, BDSM impact toys, lingerie sections, adult books, toys for male anatomy, gift baskets, and a small very-large-toys-for-butts section. It's very well-organized. Almost everything in this store is from high-quality, reputable brands. I don't actually think I saw a single phthalate-laden toy. We-Vibe, FunFactory, Vixen Creations, Oxballs, Tenga, Fleshlight, Spareparts, and tons more. Lots of fantastic, high-quality options. Staff are SO friendly and knowledgeable too. I asked for a few recommendations - and got great ones. They clearly know their shit, and they can lead you to virtually anything you ask for - or provide recommendations if you don't really know what you want but know what need you want to solve. The Pleasure Chest also has an all-gender, single bathroom that doubles as their changing room. Very clean - just like the rest of the store. Fantastic, sex-positive toy store. Im sad to have to leave my first bad Yelp review, but I've never been so degraded by another person, much less an employee, in my entire life. I have dealt with the public for the past 10+ years and have never seen anything like this. I actually looked around to see if there were cameras because I thought I was being punked. We were going to buy upwards of $400 worth of products that night but ended up leaving with nothing because we were so upset by the way we were treated. Thank god Hollywood HUSTLER was down the street, they were so kind, helpful, and had a huge selection of merchandise. Don't waste your time here unless you enjoy being berated by these employees. There were only two people working that night, I was sober, I was wearing a mask the entire time, only pulling it down to smell a candle (just as it's allowed at any other store). I could not read the sign as it was extremely small and I'm visually impaired due to a brain tumor. I apologize for not asking the employees pronouns first as they were too busy reprimanding me, I was not able to get a word in. I could imagine that being frustrating and I do sincerely apologize if that did happen. Had I known that you could not touch anything in the store, including the clothing hangers, I would have just shopped online. Much cheaper. Popped in with the Mrs. Saturday to pick up some items for us. It was pretty busy in there and folks were having their usual semi nervous conversation with either friends or a partner about what their needs were. It was fun to listen to some of the conversations. The selection here is pretty decent. Prices though are something else. They're more on the premium side, but at least they offer a 30 return should your product fail due to manufacturing defects. ( must have receipt ) This location also offers all sorts of classes, which we've been to a couple. You can find them on meetup. My only criticism would be with the staff's inability to remove those that don't know how to behave when in an adult surrounding. There were three guys walking around making some very inappropriate comments and no one addressed it but me when I told one of the guys that he should have respect and pay attention to his audience when speaking aloud. Have been here twice with great service from the staff. One of the employees helped me look for a harness and was willing to help retrieve the ones on display so I could see the front and back of them and helped with suggesting sizing. They have great selection and are very friendly to all folks! Had to dock just one star because one of the times I was here I had great service from the staff still but the store smelled really strange and it was really nauseating for me and my friend that were there. We were masked so the smell must've been really strong because it was still giving me such a headache through my mask. This review is for pleasure chest on Lincoln Avenue in Chicago Illinois. I have stopped into this store twice in February 2021 to look at a few different items. Compared with some of the other stores in the immediate lakeview area the selection here is much better and in my opinion the prices seem to be fair. All good things inventory wise and great organization of toys. The covid measures in place are excellent, although I do feel that refusing to take cash is a bit misguided as it relates to the spread of covid. There are ample signs and the staff was good at enforcing social distancing measures. Unfortunately, that was really the only positive with the staff. My first visit it did seem as though the staff gave far more attention to the female guests than myself which as a good business you should cater to all guests equally and train your staff as such (see previous review about that woman's husband not getting help either)! Upon my last visit, no one helped me or came over to ask if I have any questions. Furthermore, the two staff that were working were having a very loud conversation that seemed to be of a private matter pertaining to the business rather than assisting the customers in the store at that time. Then when I checked out the girl asked if anyone had helped me - I honestly chucked and jokingly said "nope just me!". I think giving shoppers space is important no doubt but there is a fine line between space and just blatant negligence. Ultimately I will keep coming back for the inventory but the service gets a 3 star from me. read more

4/15/21 Went into the store, because the other location closed. Was very excited to see the merchandise, and take a look. Ended up spending more then 500$. There was a woman with a beanie on 4-15-21. She was incredibly rude and had a terrible attitude. We asked her a question about a board game, and she was rude in her response as well as we were leaving she was talking under her breath. Uh, what a lazy group of workers who basically let my husband fumble around the store when I actually called prior mentioning him visiting. I even told them he would need help, and they didn't seem to care on the phone to help me either on the phone or him in person. He asked multiple times for help and the employees seemed like they didn't want to be bothered, merely pointing him to the lingerie section, and not even asking him if he was looking for something specific. There were 4 people in line, she didn't care at all. Talked for 5 minutes without scanning an item. Scanned an item at a time, then gave a story for each.
