I dont really complain but they ( Lovely Nails at Modesto) failed my expectations esp I always go to Lovely Nails at Turlock. The person who did my service tried to scoop out my ingrown nails even though before I went there, I dont complain about it. My pain treshold is high enough to tolerate deep cleaning and that I just let her do her job but she really went deeper and insists about it. It was soooo painful! She poked the nail clipper deep in front of my toe nail! I thought minutes later it would be fine but nope! Till I got home, still hurting! And how she did my manicure, it is not worth my 30 bucks all in all! She did not paint the sides and not really clean the edges of my nails. read more

I went in for a acrylic fill with a set done somewhere else really poorly. They looked so bad! I had gone here before, but decided to try a new place out, I regretted it. I came back to get them filled and get a pedicure. The pedicure was amazing, for the price. I got French tips and I'm in love! I didn't catch her name, but she payed so much attention to detail, constantly asking me if they were ok. Which I find is essential in a great technician. Not only was the polish great, but the massage and salt scrub I got were quite enjoyable. Moving on to my fill, she transformed them. She made the shape way better, and the polish is near perfect. I also liked how she applied oil after to moisturize my cuticles. Overall, I'm so happy with my nails. And I definitely will not be switching spots again. Warning, this place follows the stereotype where the nail techs talk bad about their customers in another language right in front of them. I speak Vietnamese and all of them were badmouthing my friend who was running a little late for her appointment, even though she respectfully called in to let them know way ahead of time. They also talked crap about the other customers for taking too long to pick their colors and having messed up feet. We won't be coming back and we hope other people choose not to come here too. read more

Under new ownership. We gave it a try. Same nice clean shop. Friendly staff. We found Cindy!! She's working at her sister's shop on Coffee Rd next to The Waffle Shop on Coffee and Floyd. She's there Tuesday through Saturday. My husband tried with new owners. Ended up messing his feet up. Sprayed alcohol all over his feet at made them crack. I wish there was a way I could leave 0 stars. I had a horrible experience here. I took my mom and I to get pedicures. They both turned out fine, but my pedicure began to chip away the first day. Since I noticed my nail color chipping off the first couple of days and my moms stayed just fine, I called the salon to see if I could get them fixed. Fortunately, the guy that answered the phone was kind enough to redo it for me. So, I went into the salon to have my toenails redone, but I guess the female who did them for me had no experience what so ever because I walked out with crappy toenails. She did a horrible job. My daughter came for a pedicure and acrylic nails. They nails were great however during the pedicure they did not use proper hygiene even after she made a comment. Her toe is now infected, when she called the shop the owner was rude and said he would pay her $20.00 to just shut up. So they have now been reported to the board of Barbering and Cosmetology. The owner is very unprofessional, maybe after being reported now by a Podiatrist he will take time to keep his nail salon clean and have proper hygiene practiced throughout. We have also called our attorney. Hope he has insurance....‍ I would give zero stars. I would not go there. read more

The customer service was great, not too busy so we were seen right away, they take their time so you can guarantee an amazing finish. CLEAN, PROFESSIONAL, PERSONALITY PLUS..... I am a public health specialist who is very cautious about the cleanliness of nail salons. What impressed me was that the owner was cleaning the pedicure bowl after my wash of my feet. Also they used a plastic sheeth around the bowl adding to an even more clean environment. The pedicure I was given as well as the manicure, top quality. And, I should know.. I managed the largest medical spa in the world in Macau. And, I learnt the processes expected to be done to maintain the highest standards. I give this place 5STARS!!!! Note also, there were returning men and women customers who I talked to that have been clients for more than four years. They all had compliments. Idk if it was just the girl I got, but No! I came here for the first time today because of the good reviews but was disappointed. The pedicure itself without polish took about 7-10 minutes the polish took another 10 minutes and was half-assed. I got white polish which I know can be difficult because any mistake is noticeable but if your not comfortable doing it then don't. Here's to another pedicure I have to fix myself. read more

I've had better for a lower price. I get my nails filled every 2 weeks without them breaking or cracking in between that time. when I got them done at this place they did not last. The top coat cracked within a few days. Also the acrylic is coming off my actual nail is certain parts. When I went to pay I was charged for a new set rather than a fill, I had to correct them. I've been here multiple times and they do a nice job with nails, which is why I'm giving them a two star, but their attitude is what ruins it for me. The girl they have do my nails always has a bad attitude/acts like she doesn't want to be there and it makes being there very awkward. Last time I went, my acrylics broke off less than a week of them being done. While fixing the nails, they laughed at me and talked about me in Vietnamese. They should realize some people can understand the language and know what they are saying. Won't be going there again. read more

Well this time my experience was not as good. Last week, I made an appointment for both nails and pedicure. I arrived on time and had to wait 30 minutes. Yet someone who walked in for a pedicure was started while I waited. I asked Amy for ambre french manicure and so she completely removed my previous set of gel dip (which I loved) and used acrylic. I was told it's because you can't do ambre with gel dip. So I went ahead and let her do it the way she knows best. However, she sort of rushed and there was acrylic built up on the sides on my skin which I asked her to file down and she wasn't that interested in making it right. I was then moved to the massage chair for my pedi. Another lady did my pedicure very nicely, but then left me and went to attend to another client and passed me off to someone else who told me I should get gel on my toes. I said I would prefer polish but I didn't want to walk out with slippers because I had another appointment to get to after this. So the only option was to pay $15 for gel and put my shoes on, or walk out with slippers because I guess it was too much trouble for me to sit and wait to dry. So I made the decision to say I don't want polish on my toes. I paid and I left. This picture is after 1 week and not only is there far too much white in contrast to pink, the acrylic was not placed close enough to the cuticle so it looks like 2 weeks of growth already. I went back to see if they would fix it. But, I was told this is normal growth after 1 week and I would have to pay for a whole new set! So I decided that I will not pay them again. Instead I left and went elsewhere. Seems to me this shop doesn't know how to do a fill, only full sets. read more

Caution Required! We live very close to this nail salon. I promised my 11 yr old granddaughter I'd get her a pedi before she left on her trip. I called Lovely Nails, knowing they were under a new owner, to see what their prices were. The man I spoke to said 20.00 for pedicure. I asked if that was the price for an 11 yr old and he told me "for 11 it is 10.00 (ten dollar). When we arrived he asked if I had just called. I told him yes and he told her to pick a color and then a young lady showed her the chair she'd go to. My granddaughter enjoyed the pedi and said the lady was very nice. We were ready to leave and the man then told me 15.00 (fifteen dollar). I want to be clear that I didn't mind paying the 15.00, and I did, what I didn't like was the DISHONESTY! I told him he said Ten dollars....(thinking ten and fifteen sound Nothing alike!) however, he insisted, several times, he had said fifteen and "They (the women who work there) heard me, You want me to get them?! (thinking to myself; if you're the "new owner" they won't go against you!). I paid him, all the while thinking "I won't be back!" This is the first time I have been back to lovely nails in a very long time. I had went there before probably over 20 years ago and I had a bad experience with the drill. As for today's visit I did call for an appointment it was very easy to get an appointment for the same day. I did have to wait a little before they were able to take me. Which was fine I understand they get busy they have walkins. I had said I wanted glitter but I think the technician didn't hear me so she put a regular full set. Which was fine however when I went to pay I was charged $40. A regular full set is $25. I was told it was because I had tips and a design. So because I got four stripes of black and didn't use more nail polish i'm getting charged more money? I also thought he said I had gel polish. I have regular polish which I sat for 20 minutes under the dryer and still nicked a nail within 2 seconds of leaving. It was the fastest full set of ever had. She was done within 30 minutes.
