Cocktails

We enjoyed everything here. Cocktails are innovative and fun. Great food menu with variety of small bites that's tasty and the right bar snack portion.

The drinks here were so unique and fun. We got the Wagyu fat cocktail and I forgot what was the other one. The Wagyu fat cocktail was SO good, I would come back to get this again. They had bites as well, but we didn't get anything. I will definitely come back to try the bites and sit at the bar again. The atmosphere was cool - it gave a cave basement like feel. I believe this place started to get popular because of Tik Tok

Super cool bar, I love the interior (inspired by the concept of "no straight lines"). The drinks are good! I tried the Nikkei Sour and Shiso Lover's Margarita. The Okinawan purple potato tempura fries are also very good. We did not have a reservation but were able to get a table pretty easily by waiting 10 minutes before opening.

Great cocktails, friendly staff, and a beautiful interior. We didn't try much of the food since we'd already had dinner, but we'll definitely be back to try more next time. Such a fun and welcoming place to hang out. The bar has a really social atmosphere where you can literally end up making friends with the people sitting next to you. Loved the "love thy neighbor" vibe!

Place is beautiful. I saw a lot of advertisements online and decided to give it a try. Everything looks futuristic and clean, and although the menu is small, it has good options. We only had drinks, and the ingredient combinations were definitely intriguing. We tried one with their homemade cola and wagyu, and the other one was the Banana Punch. I personally didn't like the Banana Punch that much because I'm not a big fan of coffee and didn't realize it had a strong coffee flavor. Overall, it's still worth trying if you're in the area.

Super cool spot!

Elevated bar with delicious drinks! There are savory and sweet drinks. I got the umericano with plume wine and I loved it. It was like juice in the best way possible. The clarified banana drink is alsoooo very delicious!

Cute new cave bar in west village. drinks are on the lower abv side and they have small bites, and service is very friendly! for the drinks, I would highly recommend the G&T - its fizzy and refreshing. For food, skip the ceviche. chicken karaage sandwich is good if you're hungry, and sweet potato fries are also fun (the sauce it comes with is so good!)

The interior of this bar is gorgeous! I had a reservation on a Saturday night. The drink menu is a combination of classic and original cocktails. I had one with banana and coffee, as well as me that had a fruity taste. Both drinks were excellent. My husband had their old fashioned and he liked it. We shared an order of their sweet potato fries. Everything was perfect and the staff were super nice and helpful

Super cool cave like interior with a very unique cocktail menu. The cocktails come out in stunning glassware with gorgeous garnishes. While the drinks are yummy, they are very low ABV and taste almost juice-like.

This place is everything! The ambience, the aesthetic but definitely the food and drinks are amazing. I went on a solo date here and had the best time. I walked in since resy was fully booked for two weeks, but I ended up waiting for 30ish mins. My original wait was 1 hr 45 min but I lucked out! My fave drink is the margarita! The drinks are well balanced with herby floral and fruity notes. I also tried the G&T and Nikkei Sour. The order of my faves for food: -ceviche -miso mussels -pastrami tartare -karaage -sweet potato fries I honestly couldn't finish everything so I had to take the fried food to go. Everyone is so friendly! I definitely would come back when I visit NY. I'm so glad I got to try it on my last night here. :)

This new Japanese bar in the West Village looks very attractive online with its curved walls and cave-like atmosphere but the actual experience is not as glamorous. The boulder shaped stools are uncomfortable to sit on and the decor is minimalistic and could use more light. The cocktails are clarified and distilled to a point that the drinks taste more like tea than alcohol. The tastiest drink was definitely the Wagyu Coke which consists of wagyu fat-washed bourbon mixed with their house made cola syrup and blackberry purée. It tasted like Christmas in a drink. The ceviche mosaic with salmon, tuna, and scallop was aesthetically pleasing but could have used some crunch. The Nikkei sour fell flat for me with a bitter aftertaste. It was a weak attempt at making a pisco sour. The Genmai sazerac tasted like a dry roasted tea and the mango on top did not add much flavor to the drink. The service was kind and welcoming.

Bar interior

"Love thy neighbor?" I agree. This is the perfect place to send your downstairs neighbor with the noisiest dog and your upstairs neighbor who loves tap dancing at 6 a.m. on a Sunday morning. This bar is like the six-foot-tall, seven-figure-salary, eight-pack-abs, and nine-inch-(somewhere) textbook Hinge date you saw on the app. On paper, it's a great idea. In reality, it's an absolutely miserable experience. I booked the nook area three weeks in advance via email. When my party arrived, we were informed that we could only stay for 1.5 hours, sharp. Interesting--that was never mentioned beforehand. I would think a two-hour seating window is a perfectly reasonable expectation for a reservation of six people. (Ok! Fine, my fault, I was able to come up with an extra friend, so seven). We still decided to give this "neighborly" place a chance. We ordered nearly the entire menu, three to four cocktails, and a bottle of wine--exactly what you'd expect from a large group. The service, however, seemed determined to rush us out. Our reservation was at 6:30pm. Our bottle of wine, arrived finally at 7:20 p.m., with only four wine glasses despite there being seven adults at the table. I suppose because three of us are short, we somehow only counted as four people. Tsk tsk, we dwarfs, I know. Our last dish arrived at 7:30 p.m. By 7:35 p.m., the bill was already on the table. At 7:45 p.m., another waitress began clearing our plates because we apparently had to be swept out the door by 8:00. By the end, we all felt like Cinderella racing to catch the pumpkin carriage before midnight. We rushed through our food, chugged the wine, and hurried out because, apparently, we had already overstayed our welcome after just 75 minutes. Even my meanest aunt would have let me stay an extra 15 minutes! At this point, I'm genuinely surprised this place has a four-star rating. The patrons must be exceptionally generous. That said, credit where it's due: this is indeed a very trendy bar with a cool interior. But like any flashy startup CEO would say, it's the "people" who make the difference. And indeed, the staff made this experience absolutely unforgettable. I'll be talking about this bar for years to come. Just probably not for the reasons they were hoping for. To counter the owner's point posted on Google review response, everyone is already there and sitting and eating. We ordered the whole menu. I showed up late, but I don't have to baby all my friends as they are already there. We were given 1.5 hours only, not two hours. Next time, which there won't be, please don't let us sit down and do us a favor. So we won't be charged for this shitty bill as well. If you don't want the business, don't let us sit down. We would rather go everywhere else but here. At the end of the day, this bar charged us money that we paid fair and square, and we were somehow treated like we were just lucky to be in their presence. If you don't want the business, tell us to go. Don't pretend you are better, but charge us and be snarky about it for the duration of our stay!

My partner and I were dying to check out Love Thy Neighbor during our quick trip to New York. Since it's such a new and popular spot, we weren't sure we'd be able to get in, but thanks to the amazing help of Essence, we had an incredible experience. Even with how busy and chaotic things were, Essence was an outstanding host. She continuously checked in with us, kept us updated on our wait, and made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the process. Her kindness, professionalism, and positive attitude did not go unnoticed. She truly held the place down and deserves all the applause! Once we were seated, everything was worth the wait. The cocktails were delicious, the food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was exactly what we had hoped for. The entire experience felt welcoming and memorable. A huge thank you to Essence for making our visit so special. We would absolutely make another trip back to New York just to visit Love Thy Neighbor again!
