Red Velvet, Chocolate Pistachio, Bunny Love, Chocolate Salted Caramel, Vegan Chocolate
Kyra K.

Birthdays always call for a sweet treat! I've never been fond of cake, even as a kid. Growing up, I'd always request cupcakes for my birthday. For my birthday this year, I was in the mood for a good vegan cupcake. Yelp lead us here to Love at First Bite! The cupcakery is quaint, small, and cute. You can order online or in person. Cupcakes are on display for customers ranging in traditional flavors as well as specialty, gluten-free, and vegan options. Service by the workers was efficient and helpful. They even have dog cupcakes too! I chose the Vegan Chocolate Cupcake. It was moist, and rich, and you couldn't even tell it was vegan. I highly recommend it! My friends and family had their cupcakes which everyone seemed to enjoy. It's a nice size for the price and good quality too! For those cupcake lovers in the area, I recommend visiting Love At First Bite. They're able to cater to different dietary restrictions allowing everyone to enjoy a little sweet treat! Looking forward to coming back when those cravings hit. Find them off Vine Street with street parking around.

I've been here plenty of times before ordered some cupcakes for my daughter's baby shower. They did a great job. I definitely recommend! the service is friendly.

Cupcakes and the baker's hair

Got some cupcakes with a strand of hair! Cupcakes are very good though. Service is fast. Love at first bite but not the first site I guess.

Ordered some cupcakes for a staff Halloween lunch. Woah! I'm not a huge cupcake person, but I am now! The flavors were absolutely divine! Red velvet, chocolate, vanilla, banana nut, cookies and cream, etc. Each cupcake was perfectly moist and not dried out, like some places tend to be. The designs were adorable as well. Best of all - it was fun to try out the flavors but not feel guilty for indulging, as these were the mini sized cupcakes. So we were all able to satisfy our sweet tooth's within reason. I look forward to ordering from here once again!

The cupcakes were ok. Definitely super sweet. It was cool to try them out, but, they're not really my kind of jam!

I had placed an order for a strawberry flavored gender reveal cake. The cake was for me and I specifically asked for a fondant teddy bear on top of the cake with white frosting and the "reveal" with pink or blue inside of the cake. The decoration wasn't what I had asked for and frankly made it quite obvious that it was a girl before I even cut into the cake. The cake itself wasn't too sweet which was nice. But overall I was disappointed, unfortunately nothing I can do now since it was the day of my gender reveal get together and couldn't order another one.

key lime, salted caramel chocolate, pistachio chocolate

First time here and greeted with a friendly and very patient staff close to closing. Red velvet, Bunny Love and Salted Caramel are the popular flavors here and the first two were sold out by the time I got there. I tried the key lime which was my favorite, strong lime flavor. It was quite sweet and a bit tart. It has a yellow cake bottom I think with a graham cracker crust.I bought the salted caramel and pistachio chocolate as well but didn't get to try the salted caramel since I gave it away :( The pistachio cream has a really strong pistachio flavor, almost tastes like the way almond does as a flavor. The chocolate bottom is subtly chocolate and felt separated from the cream top. I think this is the cupcake that would taste better if eaten with the cupcake hack like a sandwich. All flavors that I tried are strong here. Cake is soft. They have so many flavors, I look forward to returning and trying the others.

Gender reveal cake

I've gone here through the years and have always had really good experiences. It's been my go to spot for birthday gift cupcakes and a few birthday cakes. I just recently purchased my gender reveal cake here and they did a fantastic job. It came out beautifully and everyone commented how perfect it was. The process was also easy and they were very responsive as far as getting things set up. The cupcake flavors are fun and consistent. I like the frosting they use- both the texture and the amount of it.

Get back, six pack, get back!

Get the day old six packs for $15 and don't forget to tip! Warm cozy lil shop. Fast friendly service. Fresh and moist. Generous with the frosting. Vanilla tasted a little like cornbread which was a nice surprise. These cupcakes could cure cancer. This ain't generic Betty Crocker or chemical laden Safeway! Always a good day when you stop in here! Seriously, Love At First Bite takes the cake...

Mini cupcakes variety

I've got a sweet tooth & this place hit the spot. This is a small but cute bakery , they had a variety of candles & birthday hats etc. The ladies working the front were friendly & gave me their suggestions. They had plenty of choices & I couldn't decide but luckily, they had a variety pack of day old mini cupcakes, a dozen for $15 & that was a deal for me! These cupcakes were moist & flavorful which says a lot for it being a day old. I enjoyed all the flavors & I'll definitely be back for the full sized ones + the cake pops that they recommended. Highly suggest you stop by for a sweet treat if you're around the area!

Had to have their last vanilla cupcake.

The name says it all -- one bite and you're hooked! You'll find around 12-15 delicious, quality cupcake varieties, from classic vanilla to adventurous chocolate pistachio. There are also vegan and gluten-free options, mini cupcakes, and specials like refreshing lemon raspberry and cool chocolate chip mint. Furthermore, your dog will love their Pup Cakes! Service is quick and easy; you can have your treats on a plate, in a box, or by the dozen! They take cash, cards, and PayPal. You can order by phone or online, too! Planning an event? Ask about custom orders, the possibilities are practically endless. If you're in the festive mood, this quaint bakery additionally sells party favours and decorations. Will keep coming back!

The chef was outside helping out and he was super nice very friendly. He was very enthusiastic about his dessert and was introducing it to us. We went when the store is almost closing, so there wasn't that many selection left, but we got the vanilla custard and that was so good full of the vanilla flavor. It's not overly sweet and feel very light. It was so good that I even got another one to take home with me. They also have a good selection of Macaron and they are not overly sweet. They are very light and the seasoning was really well. The cake was also really good. I got one of the chocolate walnut cake and that one was very rich with coffee flavor. I love it. Honestly, they really need to include signs and probably allergen information as well. But I'm not sure if the owners opt to omit the signage on purpose to encourage conversation. The cakes were good and the pricing was fair. Limited seating available. Overall, I enjoyed the pastries and would come back if I'm craving some European style cake.

Their primary focus appears to be on their special order cakes-which look amazing. The woman at the counter was friendly and helpful. After asking a few questions, I decided on the Passion Coco cake($5) and the Brown Sugar Pecan scone ($3.50). I enjoyed the Passion Coco cake slice. The coconut, passion fruit, and strawberry flavors worked well together, although the passion fruit flavor was very subtle. The sponge was cake moist, and the butter cream was spot on with its melt-in-your-mouth creamy texture. The Brown Sugar Pecan scone was good, but it had more of a dense muffin texture than a traditional scone, and the flavors were a bit muted. They did not skimp on the pecans though, which was nice. I would have enjoyed bolder flavors and a more traditional scone texture. Overall, I found that the walk in options are limited, but a great spot for locals to stop in and pick up tasty baked goods-and I would definitely order one of their beautiful and delicious looking cakes for a special occasion.

Finally got to try Sesame Tiny Bakery and kind of wish I knew about this place earlier!…read more The ambiance is super cute and cozy. I loved how soft and open the space felt, especially with all the pretty flowers around. Also... LOTS OF PARKING!!! Which is always a huge plus for me We ordered the chocolate chip cookie and plum cake. The chocolate chip cookie was crispy around the edges but still soft and moist in the center. The plum cake was definitely my favorite. It was so light and airy and, most importantly, not too sweet!! I'm not a huge fan of overly sweet desserts, so this was perfect for me. One thing I really love about Sesame Tiny Bakery is that their cakes are made with seasonal fruits and organic products, and the flavors change every month depending on what's in season! It makes me want to come back just to see what they'll have next. Such a cute little bakery and definitely a spot I'd come back to. Can't wait to try next month's cake! The service was amazing, everyone is incredibly kind :)

The cute little signs taking you on a field trip are not to be missed. The hand calligraphied menu lists are in the same style, and invite you into a whimsy-laced, multilayer experience. It's an industrial kitchen, a real 5 star bakery that clearly bakes for the other best restaurants and destinations in the world, which, of course are here in Berkeley and Oakland. Today they have some jazz playing inside, as I sit at the smaller of two tables, across from the bench. The people watching is mostly for the half dozen bakers that are smiling back from the open air space. One of the bakers washes her hands to come up and take your order. And the food... I ordered a buckwheat cocoa, a tea they have here. Too hot, haven't tried it, but there is a zero chance I'll be able to pair it with my tomato, gruyere, and corn danish. Zero chance because I'm eating it way too fast. The savory herbs, the two kinds of sesame, the pine nuts, the blistered, juicy tomatoes, the sweet corn, the savory, heavenly flavors. I've had tarts with... well, some of these flavors, but mixing it with this perfect crispy lamination is truly otherworldly. I can't wait to return for something sweet next time. After all, cakes seem to be their bread and butter!

The cheese roll is a must, but beware, it can sell out by around 10am. And that damn chocolate almond croissant is an absolute yes every damn time. Take it home, warm it up, and thank me later. The melty chocolate inside with all that almond goodness baked on top?! oouff Heavenly. I'll occasionally get the veggie quiche slice too, especially when they have the corn & potato one. Somehow I always stick to my same three favorites even though everything in those cases looks amazing. I really need to venture out already because those cakes?! Whew. Yes, it's a little pricey, but I mean...you're in the Berkeley Hills and isn't EVERYTHING overly expensive nowadays? At least here, I leave feeling like it was worth it. Worth the line.
