    Cupcakes

I picked up cupcakes from Cupcakin' Bake Shop for my wife's birthday, and they were absolutely amazing. I got the Cookies n Cream, Dirty South, Lemon Cream Pie, and Key Lime Pie, and I was able to try each one, every single flavor was delicious. These are probably the best cupcakes I've ever had. They were incredibly moist, rich, and full of flavor, not overly sweet, and clearly made with care. Each cupcake stood out in its own way, and none of them disappointed. I'd definitely be back and highly recommend this place if you're looking for top-tier cupcakes.

    They weren't sold out! Yay!!!

This is why people stop buying their cupcakes out and choose to make stuff at home. This place really knows how to disappoint! And I find it amazing because a substandard shop around the corner is selling crap and while these people have a much better product with much more flavor, they never seem to have it in stock. I go in and I see that they have cupcakes and I'm looking for a gluten-free cupcake. Whatever the flavor they have if it's gluten-free, I will take it. I have absolutely no idea why they don't have these cupcakes. A couple of times I showed up close to closing and they didn't have the cupcakes and I understand that you know they may have sold out. But I've been there 10 minutes after opening, a half hour after opening, an hour or two after opening and no cupcakes. I have been there in the middle of the day and no cupcakes! The people do have plenty of excuses. There is the time I went there and now I do not have cupcakes. I was ignored the whole time I was waiting. There was a time I went there and the person who was supposed to be working was in the bathroom probably taking the dump because there's a sign on the door saying that they were in the restroom. I waited longer than I should have for that to find out there were no gluten-free cupcakes. This was 1/2 hour into their shift and when I went in there, they already did not have any gluten-free cupcakes. Here's the problem, don't advertise if you have something if you don't have it on a regular basis. You go to the website they show you the muffins there's always a gluten-free flavor. The last four times I've been there they have not had gluten-free cupcakes. I don't know why. I came by in the morning to get some cupcakes and they didn't have them. And if they run out of cupcakes that early that means they're not making enough. But clearly they do not care and now I no longer care. This place is nice and clean and it has a great ambience, and they have a lot of cute things to buy. But I did not come by for any of that stuff. I came by for a gluten-free cupcake and on that small ass they didn't even bother to have any. Today, I was told that they may have a day old cupcake in the back. Of course they didn't have one because that makes no sense. They had all the old stuff out waiting and for some reason, I'm supposed to think that their day old sitting in the back. I do not know why these people do not have enough product, I really don't, but I'm done I'm making my cupcakes at home.!!! Normally, I came by here once or twice a month for a cupcake when I was in the area. Now all I've gotten on the times I've been here is disappointment. Going from Richmond to Berkeley for that level of disappointment is not worth my time. It is not worth yours either.

When I get a sweet tooth, I like to stop by here every once in a while, the cupcakes are good. The staff are always friendly. I was surprised to see they had oatmeal raisin cookies.

LOVE the cupcakes here! Whenever I need birthday cakes, I will get these cupcakes-no need to slice and deal with plates! Plus, we get a variety so everyone can taste different flavors. Our household there is a divide between chocolate and vanilla cake! Mini cupcakes are the best-they look like the standard cupcakes. Mini=less calories, right???!!!

Although it's a cupcake bakery, the underdog is their cookies!!! It was huge and under $3! I regret not getting more. They only had two flavors: chocolate chip (though it was more like sea salt chocolate) and oatmeal raisin. I just got the chocolate chip and wish I got the other one. I like how they have mini cupcakes and regular size cupcakes. Not sure how often (if at all) their flavors change but a good selection of classics like red velvet and vanilla. They also had a vegan chocolate banana option. I would drive all the way to Berkeley just for the cookies. Don't sleep on them.

This bakery makes the bomb mini cupcakes. We enjoyed all of these as our dessert for a birthday dinner party. I have to say, without a doubt, it was a huge success. Everyone could not stop talking about how moist and delicious every beautiful little cupcake was a delicious adventure ooooh picking out the next flavor trying one little one and then trying another little one while there was a whole Lotta love for a lot of little cupcakes. Service was easy, and the staff was great, but those cupcakes OMG I can't take it LOL, well, yes, I could eat some more. Lmbo, it is the perfect treat, and the best part is they're small enough that you want to keep trying different flavors, when you're all done, I can tell you without fear. We all loved every single one. I need a reason to get more right lol Cheers, my friends SYOY 07/02/25 review # 381

The cupcakes are so good. I've had some normal size and recently got a few of the minis and they are all great. They're moist and also look appetizing.

Really good cupcakes with interesting flavours/mash ups, like key lime pie. The "2 day olds" are a great value (2.25$) if you don't mind - I couldn't tell the difference, to be honest. I wish we had one in NY!

TooGoodToGo order. Looks re deceiving, these were terrible. Would be good if you got them fresh though!

Tasty desserts with quick service! There are always a lot of options and everything. have had as been super moist and flavorful. Salted caramel chocolate and bourbon passion fruit are some of my go to flavors. It's a bit pricey for cupcakes, so that why I give it a 4/5. For people interested in TooGoodToGo, do not come here. The cupcakes tasted like they were a week old. So dry and the frosting was hard as a rock. Stick to just buying from the store itself!!

Cupcakes on display despite the sign saying sold out.

Made an appointment for call back online at 4:30 this afternoon but no one called back. I've not been able to place an order online because your online form doesn't work. Can someone call me back?

Hi! You can try emailing "info@cupcakinbakeshop.com." I had the same issue with their online ordering system but had a previous order with them so they were able to reply. Good luck!

I also thought the color palette of yellow and blue was interesting, not what I picture when I think of that fruit. Gluten free chocolate salted caramel: This was probably my favorite because it was chocolatey and that helped balance it out so it didn't taste as overwhelmingly sweet. Vegan cookies and cream: This was pretty good, I liked it and didn't miss the dairy. Strawberry: The frosting tasted like actual fruit, which was really great. A little sweeter than I like, overall. Chocolate: This one was just so-so. Overall they were pretty good cupcakes, I do appreciate that they offer options that are gluten free and vegan to accommodate dietary needs.

They're in a location that used to be a Subway. I've only have their cookies, I'm a sucker for good cookies. I particularly recommend their Peanut Butter Miso (a flavor I don't think you can get at a lot of places, sweet savory), and Ginger Molasses. I've also been supporting them because they're part of the Rewards Network Dining. I subscribe to the program to get Alaska/Atmos points on qualified dining, and I'm trying to get as many points as I can, so dining with restaurants as part of that program is helpful. You can order full cakes as well as they have slices avaialble for purchase. I got a tiramisu slice for my mom, which she said she liked. Good addiiton to the neighorhood.

Their primary focus appears to be on their special order cakes-which look amazing. The woman at the counter was friendly and helpful. After asking a few questions, I decided on the Passion Coco cake($5) and the Brown Sugar Pecan scone ($3.50). I enjoyed the Passion Coco cake slice. The coconut, passion fruit, and strawberry flavors worked well together, although the passion fruit flavor was very subtle. The sponge was cake moist, and the butter cream was spot on with its melt-in-your-mouth creamy texture. The Brown Sugar Pecan scone was good, but it had more of a dense muffin texture than a traditional scone, and the flavors were a bit muted. They did not skimp on the pecans though, which was nice. I would have enjoyed bolder flavors and a more traditional scone texture. Overall, I found that the walk in options are limited, but a great spot for locals to stop in and pick up tasty baked goods-and I would definitely order one of their beautiful and delicious looking cakes for a special occasion.
