You can view all of the dresses online, and I loved everything about their woman-owned, sustainable materials company. I had a few in mind, but also tried on others that after a consultation. I was told you can customize the dress (adding and subtracting) since they're made to order. When I was starting to think about where to get a wedding dress for my NYC-based wedding, I dreaded having to sort through dozens of dresses at industrial-feeling showroom type of stores. A friend recommended Loulette Bride and I fell in love with their team and their Jordan dress in particular. Marteal, Sanaa, Nedim, and Jillian are down-to-earth, fun, and supportive of all bridal customers and their visions for their weddings. I loved playing dress-up with Marteal at my first designer appointment, though I was pretty zeroed-in on the Jordan. Sanaa and Nedim were lovely to work with for my fittings and were so welcoming to my mom and my future sisters-in-law. And Jillian made all of the communications and scheduling so easy! While I haven't gotten a wedding dress quite yet, I've been fortunate enough to witness Loulette's trajectory for some time. I continue to swoon over their gorgeous, ethical, dreamy designs and cannot wait until my time comes to go here and create the dress of my dreams. This review is for a purchase I made for my sister in law prior to her 2021 wedding. She had to postpone their wedding due to Covid by a year, so I decided to cheekily purchase the "I f***ing do" crop top (she was a health care worker and beyond amazing waiting for her wedding day!) Unfortunately, even their 2021 wedding was impacted by another Covid surge and as such, we were unsure how much masking would be required. When I went to pick up the crop top, Marteal went out of her way to make a custom mask for my sister in law so she could have something to perfectly match her dress and simply through it in there free of charge as a token of gratitude for my SIL's line of work. When I decided I wanted to get married, it was after years of believing I'd never want to get married, so I had no idea what I wanted out of a wedding and even less of an idea of what I wanted for a wedding dress, and I was super overwhelmed at the prospect of figuring it out. But from my first visit to Loulette to try on dresses I immediately felt comfortable and excited instead of stressed out. The space is beautiful, Marteal (designer/owner) and her small team of women are all extremely encouraging, knowledgeable and full of style. Marteal's dog (Mable!) was there and for me that was also a huge comfort factor. I probably tried on 20 of their gowns because it was so hard not to. I ultimately landed on THE ONE and could not wait until I was able to visit their studio again to try it on. In between that first appointment and my first fitting, Marteal and team were great with communications and by the time I was finally able to get my hands on it, I was thrilled. From my first fitting, which I had to go totally alone because of covid, Marteal opened her doors like an old friend and I got to live out my 90s movie fitting room montage. She let me go over time, gave me her feedback when asked, and basically emotionally supported me, which is what every new bride needs in the process because it's scary knowing you're going to spend a lot of money on a dress and Marteal knew that. I knew right away going into this fitting that I would find my dream dress here and that I did. Not only did I find my dream dress, each dress is made to order and you can customize ANYTHING you want . In my instance, I made the train longer, and adjusted my slip. Things I hadn't even thought about but Marteal remembered a comment I made earlier on in our appointment and reminded me of. I also knew that I didn't want to do an outfit change but have some sort of fun reveal and the fringe jacket I got as well here did JUST that. Also something to note was my dress was all of 5 lbs- it was so light and fit comfortable the whole night even after dancing for hours upon hours. The dress was perfect. Also knowing that this beautiful piece of clothing donated money to an organization I am passionate about and planted a tree means the world to me. So Congratulations you're getting married! While the dresses are beautiful and the business is run with integrity - I would be cautious if you are both sensitive and overweight. I loved everything about my experience... until I got to the fitting appointments. I didn't love how the dress was fit to my body shape and when I voiced my opinion I did not feel heard at all. I was basically told my wants for the dress were impossible because I was not a sample size. For a shop that claims to customize dresses any way you want, I was surprised at how I was treated at the fitting compared to how I was treated at my first visit. It really ruined the rest of my dress experiences and how I felt in the dress. I did wear the dress on my special day and got lots of compliments if that counts for anything. If you are skinny I would recommend this place. read more
