It's a cute store, lots of the typical items you'll see (I like), and even a good amount of decor (great for a small town), and even snacks and frozen pies. Now, the selection is not mighty, as they are pressed for space. Prices are not great, at least 30% higher than I find at my local shops. Service is as friendly as can be. It's all good.

I've been doing a lot of landscaping and lawn care on the front of my house this spring/summer and the closest Home Depot to me is an hour or more, so I've relied on them fairly heavily this year. The customer service is usually good. I have encountered employees here before who were less than stellar but for the most part, they greet you at the door and are always willing to help you. The store has gotten better at organizing their displays over the years but finding what you need can still be troublesome at times. As stated above, the employees are always on hand to help you out. I do wish they would implement contactless payment (Apple Pay). Not necessarily because of covid but because it's how I prefer to pay these days and they are one of the final hold outs in town integrating this.

Do you know what a challenge that can be when you live in a very small rural community and hour's drive from everywhere? Well knowing that there is a convenient, well stocked hardware store right here in town is wonderful. Our local True Value is huge and carries the most amazing variety of products for all types of home improvement. It is really like having a mini Lowe's right here in town but with friendly people who actually know where things are and how to use them. Not only do they carry the usual nuts and bolts and nails and tools, but they also carry arts and craft supplies. They also have a nice selection of seasonal items and decorative items. The store is open and well laid out. Most things seem to be shelved in logical groupings and if you can't find something, staff always know where to look. They are open seven days a week. Prices are higher than the big box stores, but the convenience of not having to drive for an hour makes it a great alternative.

The price tag was $1.59, over $1 more than at Home Depot or anywhere else, really. When I went to check out, it rang up as $9.99! I said, "That's an insane price; the tag said it's $1.59." This Flock of Seagulls ex-band member told me, "That's the price!" A simple price check would have resolved this without issue, but that was not in the cards, apparently. And anyone who knows building supplies would have known how insane that price was. Hire people who know hardware and building supplies. I had to track down a manager myself to get this resolved, which was embarrassing show of their customer service. For 10 months I've been paying their "mountain prices" for the convenience of them being local--no more. I'd rather take a 1.5-hour round trip than deal with rude service and inflated prices. TLDR; Go elsewhere.

I live really close, so it's really convenient to pop in for a bag of wood or other little trinkets I may need. I'll address the staff issue first, I've never ever ever had an issue with any of the employees here. They've all been very nice, very accommodating and very helpful. And I don't think it's just because I'm a familiar face, I honestly think that's just their ethic. There's been quite a few times that they don't have specific things that I need, and all the other hand, sometimes they have what other big box stores don't. So it's kind of a gamble. Generally the things they don't have, are for one of our houses that is super old. I've been an ace rewards member for probably close to 20 years. I'm constantly getting discounts via the app and coupons sent through the mail, and I've also been able to compound all of my rewards points, with other special offers. One time I came in here and I bought $40 worth of stuff, and with all the discounts, and knocked it down to just under 13 bucks! As long as I continue to live in the area, I'll be continuing my regular visits at this Ace hardware! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149.
