    El Tigre and menu

I love Louie! We had a reservation, almost a must! Jordan was our server; he has been around forever and is the best. Since I had a driver I ordered a drink, I got the El Tigre, I really enjoyed it. Mezcal, blood orange, lime, angostura. If you are at Louie, you must get the brussels sprouts! They are perfectly seasoned with lemon and caper, I get them without pecorino and I love them. The cauliflower Fritto with Dill Aioli is perfect to share, its a little heavy to eat all on your own. The Dill Aioli is just the right tang! I almost always get the fish special and tonight was no different! It was cod with cripy shallots on a bed of squash, so good! If I don't get the fish special I now I can't go wrong with the Roast Chicken or the Grilled Pork Chop, Service fantastic, food superb, drinks delicious. You can't go wrong with Louie!

There is nothing I can share in this review that hasn't been said thousands of times over. Alas, I will still share: Louie is THAT place. The hype is real. Execution is real. Service is second to none. I went solo on a friday night mid rush and they opened up an extra spot on the bar for me (i am not sure if they do this often, or they just were very generous). In any case, I had a front row seat to the pizza. Absolute masterclass. A delicate art behind the hands of a young man taking no shortcuts. Prosciutto, and pappardelle. Those were my dishes. Those were THE dishes. The prosciutto absolutely melted in your mouth with the salt of the Parmesan sending a perfectly salty funk. The pappardelle was insane. Pasta was cooked to perfection behind a rich, hearty bolognese. Not too heavy, but enough weight to keep you feeling full and satiated. The service was incredible. Genuine hospitality behind a perfectly paced meal. The ultimate date night spot. This place is sexy, moody, alive. None of my words are original, as everyone knows Louie is upper echelon. So, at the very least i hope they continue to guide those who have never been. Best of luck getting a res, my recommendation is no matter the time book it and love it

I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. The atmosphere was great, a little loud but very nice. Our food was fantastic. I had the Roman Gnocco and my husband had the halibut special. The gnocco was so good that I took home the little bit I had left and couldn't wait to eat it today. Please keep this as a staple dish. The staff was top notch! We inadvertently booked a reservation for bar seating. When the bartender, Coco realized it was our anniversary and we'd prefer more intimate seating she offered and moved us to a cute little table with a champagne toast. Loulou took over from there and was the best. She was so knowledgeable about the menu and suggested the perfect pairings of cocktails and dessert. Will definitely be back and will recommend to friends.

Our cozy spot at the bar provided excellent service and a wonderful spot to soak up the warm vibe. I don't believe we could have gone wrong with anything on the menu. And. Wow. The burrata app was outstanding. End the meal with the Ice cream sandwich - the crunch is delightful.

This just couldn't wait! Finally landed a reservation to experience all the rave and guess what?! Drum roll pease.... Louie indeed knocked my socks off'! From start to finish I thoroughly enjoyed my time. Danny was an award winning host; offered a warm greeting and kindly accommodated a slight seating modification at my request. Liz, LIZ. Lizzzzzzz!!!!! Was an absolutely amazing server. Just let me say; service has severely declined these days and sadly I've gotten somewhat complacent with that. However, Liz turned my frown upside down (literally). Such a pleasant personality, recommendations were on point and overall service throughout our dining experience was superb. I'm very particular about my Manhattan, Liz relayed the proportions to the bartender who whipped up the perfect concoction. Highly recommend the octopus of that's your thing. The sweet potosi ravioli was delicious. Oh, can't forget the Brussels....so flavorful with just the right amount of char. Last but not least, the dining room is lovely. Offering an intimate low lighting ambiance it enough to still lay eyes on tour dining companion(s) while conversing. Too a large space but the tables are spread a part nicely enough for privacy. There's also outdoor seating (heated of course) should you wish to take in the De Mun evening scene. In summation, Louie understood the assignment. I'll be returning asap. ~Christy

I really enjoy the appetizers here and the sweet potato ravioli which is a seasonal special. I haven't tried much else on the menu but I am looking forward to. This is a really great restaurant but reservations must be made far in advance so plan ahead! It's an elevated dining experience with a nice cozy but classy vibe.

Super great place. Biggest stand out was our amazing waitress who was well versed on the menu and fun to talk to and quick with her service. All the staff we interacted with were great. We sat outside, we had a reservation for 8:30 but showed up around 8 and they were able to seat us pretty quick on the patio. The cocktail menu had a great selection. I got both a paper plane and a gimlet, both were delicious and I would come back for drinks in a heartbeat! We got the octopus as a starter and that was the let down of the night. I've never had octopus before but my friend has and said this wasn't very good compared to other octopus dishes they've had. Really not that bad though just not as great as we thought it might be. For dinner I got a seasonal ravioli and my friend got a different pasta dish. Both were good. Both the octopus and the pasta dish my friend got were big servings, the seasonal ravioli wasn't a large helping but it was plenty to fill me up. The patio was nice and I'd love to sit inside in the future because it looks great from all the pictures I've seen, but seemed a little loud when we stepped inside to talk to the hostess.

Get.The.Chicken. Been into a Louie a couple of times now and have had great experiences. Service has been prompt, friendly, and super knowledgeable on the menu. Food-wise, don't think you can go wrong...unless you don't order the chicken Might very well be the best chicken I've ever had! Other items that we tried that were amazing were the mussels, prosciutto, and the ice cream sandwich.

This restaurant is a MUST visit when in the Clayton area. The restaurant is dimly light with beautiful decor making for a warm and intimate evening. The service is beyond amazing! From the moment you walk in, every member of the Louie staff greets you with a friendly smile and eager to serve. Finally, the food is delicious! Every bite tastier than the last. One of St. Louis's finest places to eat!

WOW. One of the best meals I've had in St. Louis. The pasta was SO fresh I was in love. Our broccolini pizza was yummy and unique. The cocktails were divine. I had a paper plane and an espresso martini. This was the BEST espresso martini I've ever had!!!!! Our server was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks and so very friendly. The inside is dark and moody and romantic. I'd very much like to go back and sit on the patio though just to switch it up. Reservations are a MUST. They open reservations on the first of the month. We booked that day and still the earliest we could get in was 9 pm. WORTH IT!!!!!

Made a reservation to celebrate my partners 33rd birthday here and we had a blast. We booked 2 weeks in advance but were only able to get a 9:45 pm reservation so plan accordingly! So worth it though. We had the sweetest waitress and loved everything we ordered. From the cocktails, to the mussels and the pappardelle bolognese we loved it all! They brought out a chocolate torte for his birthday and we ordered their ice cream sandwich too. The music and the warm staff made this an incredible birthday dinner.

I chose Louie for my birthday dinner because it's truly one of my favorites, if not my favorite, spot in St. Louis. It's such an elevated experience without being wildly over the top and fancy. I don't think you could order one bad thing here- it's all exceptionally good. Word of the wise- make a reservation weeks ahead. You might get lucky and snag a table closer to your dinner date, or even day of, but odds are slim. You can make a reservation online. I ordered a martini and my mom ordered a lemon drop martini and it was outstanding. I'd highly recommend the ladder- it's not my usual go to but it was zesty and crisp without being too sweet. The bread is the kick off to the meal. I truly don't think there are many other breads out there that captivate a foodie like the bread at Louie. The olive oil is an amazing accompany to the flavor. My dad ordered a salad which was fantastic. I didn't snag a picture but everything was so fresh and chopped. The dressing was light and would definitely be something I'd order next time. My mom and I love to get entrees and split. I ordered the tenderloin and she ordered the bolognese. The tenderloin was perfectly cooked and covered in salsa verde and served with roasted potatoes. The portion is generous and the flavors are such a great combo. The bolognese always hits with the lightness of the homemade noodles, freshly grated cheese, and robust sauce. For dessert they brought out the flourless chocolate torte and it literally melted in my mouth. It was DELICIOUS and covered in raspberries. If I could give Louie 6 stars, I would.

Went to Louie with friends to celebrate a graduation and this was such a perfect place to do that! We had great wine, incredible service and all of us loved our meals. Two ordered the parpardelle bolognese and ate every bit! One had chittara and kept saying how she could taste its freshness. I had the mussels and was ecstatic but wow it was a lot. And our celebrant had the Roman gnocco for the first time and had the biggest smiles through the meal. It's a small place and feels like the perfect neighborhood restaurant. Seriously, if I had stopped here when I was moving to STL, I may have found a place just to have this within walking distance.

Not off putting type of noisy, but you are not having any romantic private conversations here. We are in Clayton so you know the ambiance is right, nothing to complain about there. My waiter was attentive, almost to attentive, until it came to the check then I couldn't find him lol. Not complaining though because way to often you have to be ultra patient. WE had a large chopped salad which was delicious. I had Pomodoro pasta which was good. BUT THE STAR OF THE SHOW WAS THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS. we ate two orders and I ordered one to go. Now i am not a pasta snob but I do enjoy the hill, and my favorite Italian restaurant is EAtely in Chicago. Now this, aint that. But i would definitely come back and try other things on the menu. ITs affordable enough that i can bring my whole family, its nice enough that this could be classified as a special night out. If you have teenagers or young adults that are currently dating within a budget, your date will feel special if you bring her here.

The Best Dining Experience We've Had in St. Louis - Hands Down…read moreMy husband and I wanted to give our dear friends who are leaving St. Louis one last unforgettable meal from their bucket list, so I immediately recommended Peno. I used to be a regular at Rosé with the same talented Chef Pepe, and his food is truly to die for. We walked in on a beautiful day and were lucky to snag a spot in their small parking lot (parking in the area isn't the easiest, but it's worth it). Our server, Harry, made the evening even better right from the start. He had such a warm, calm, professional presence--the kind that's rare these days. We instantly remembered his name thanks to a fun Harry Potter / Harry and the Hendersons reference, and he handled everything with effortless skill. When our friends had parking trouble, Harry quickly offered helpful suggestions. Then, when it was time to order, he elevated our meal in the best way possible. My husband and I got our longtime favorite--the Roberto pizza from Rosé days--and Harry suggested adding sausage and peppers. That small tweak took something we already loved and made it 1000% better. Absolute perfection. Our friend ordered the spaghetti (her all-time favorite comfort meal), and after taking Harry's thoughtful recommendation, she declared it the best spaghetti she's ever had in her life. We finished with the cheesecake. I'm extremely picky about cheesecake, but this one did not disappoint--it was creamy, rich, and flawless. This was one of those legendary meals you remember forever. The kind where you leave thinking you could die happy. Chef Pepe's food, paired with Harry's outstanding service, made it a perfect night. If you're in St. Louis, do yourself a favor and go to Peno. You won't regret it. Thank you, Harry and team--you helped create a truly special send-off for our friends!

My family would do yearly holiday dinners here with extended family. Such a classic, inviting ambiance with delicious, comforting food. But unfortunately the last few visits were not the Maggianos I remember. They've surely been impacted by the economy and many of the changes are due to that, such as smaller portions for higher prices - RIP free pasta to take home. But there are some things that are perhaps creative choices that left me wanting more. A biggie is the change in bread - made just a few months ago according to our server. I adored the crisp on the outside, soft on the inside pillowy loaf you would get along with olive oil, Parmesan and fresh cracked pepper in the past. I was surprised to see rolls and butter brought to our table as the bread service. I gave this new roll a chance but it was overly salty and not very good. We got the truffle fries, bread with dipping oil, and carpaccio to start. All of it was PACKED with flavor. Of the apps, the carpaccio was my fave. It was thinly sliced and the capers gave little bursts of extra flavor in each bite. For our entree, we got the lemon ricotta ravioli and the emo cover band pizza. The ravioli was an INSTANT fave. Super butter, fresh and light. A great place for a date night!

If you like a gorgeous and unique bar area with amazing old school touches - yes. This is the place. If you like parking in a garage that was built before your grandparents were born- yes this place is for you. However- we had a lot of trouble with service. I don't know why but every time our waitress walked by our table, regardless of our "excuse us ma'am's " we were ignored. This is a real shame because we plan on eating dinner and having another drink, but after 45 minutes we had to leave and go somewhere else.

I ordered Campagnelle Alfredo (no mushrooms) and other dishes ordered at the table were the pizza, eggplant dish, and a shrimp dish (all said were delicious). My dish was decent, the noodles a little soft but it was still yummy! Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Would love to return and try the pizza!

The menu is straightforward with something for everyone, with a decent variety of salads, pastas, entrees, and Neapolitan style pizzas. I always appreciate a one-page menu, knowing that what they do, they do very well. They also had specials which sounded great. Prices are not bad at all for a nice sit-down lunch in 2026. The decor is simple, but still warm and inviting, with a view into the kitchen area. I ordered the Campagnelle Alfredo (with no mushrooms). It was excellent! Friends ordered the risotto special and the pizza and both were very happy also. The staff members were attentive and friendly from the moment we walked in. The host even asked us the name of our friend who was running late so that he could seat her when she arrived. These little things really are nice and added to our experience of feeling welcomed. I can't wait to come back for a glass of wine!
