No attention to detail at all! Manicure looked good at first, but now it's the next day and with my glasses on (ha) it looks terrible. Not to the edges of nails at all - neither the sides nor base of nail. 2nd coat quickly applied and not to edges either and crooked. Pedicure - nail cut crooked, color all over my skin on at least 5 out of 10 toes. Wasn't to the edge either and they tried to re-apply. Just plain sloppy. I'm really bummed to be writing this review but I hope this gets to someone at the business. It's been months since I got my nails done but I was working from home and thought I would treat myself to a shellac manicure during lunch. I looked on their website for their services (prices on website do not match actual in-store pricing FYI). I came in at 11:10 and asked for a classic shellac manicure. I was the only customer and there was only one employee there. She was very kind so I will give them that! My concern was she seemed to go through my manicure very quickly. Like there was a rush. To correct any gel or polish that went outside my cuticle, she just wiped it with her nails. By the time my manicure was done it took maybe 30 minutes give or take. I did get my 5 minute arm and neck massage which was a nice part of the service. I went ahead and paid, said thank you and headed out. I then looked at my nails in the light and noticed how terrible the skin around my nails was It just wasn't cleaned up at all. The clear gel was stuck all over my skin. All under my nails was gel to where my skin was stuck to the bottom of the nail. I know my nails are short but I've had gel manicures before and they've always made sure to clean up the skin. The polish didn't reach the edge on all my nails. I had to come home and use clippers and a file to try and get it all out. This was NOT worth a $30 service plus tip. I'm so upset that I spent money on this after not getting my nails done for so long I would go get them fixed somewhere but don't feel like spending even more unnecessary money and I feel like going back will just not be handled nicely. read more

Lotus zen is five minutes from my house and I can't believe I haven't stopped by sooner! I always pass this place up and I finally got the chance to stop by. You should stop by too! It's in a small shopping center on the corner of Eldridge and Cypress N Houston across from shell gas station. Pedicure chairs (5/5) - I had a back workout yesterday and the chair is saving my life. The kneading setting on the chair is definitely taking the knots out of my back! I've never been in a chair that massages me so well. Technicians (5/5) - I'm Vietnamese so i don't have a language barrier like most do. They're super sweet and they like to get to know you. Mani/Pedi (5/5) - I got shellac on both my hands and feet and I love it! The massages the crap out of my arms and legs and it was great. I love places that use sugar or salt scrubs because it leaves my skin feeling so clean! I also love their huge selection of colors. read more

So my experience was ok. My daughter and I chose to have our feet done and I had a refill. Our feet were beautifully done and we were well pleased. However, I am not very pleased with the refill. Tina was so sweet but this isn't the best refill. Because we had already been there for 2 hours, I was heading out of town, and I had already asked for a few adjustments, I was ready to go. Pros: Pleasant atmosphere. They greeted everyone who entered the shop with the same pleasantries. Cons: My nails weren't buffed as smoothly as they should've been. My nails look lumpy. I also notice now that my gel wasn't smoothly polished but I couldn't tell in the shop. I had to leave town for a family thing but I'll give them a chance to fix it since they were so nice. read more

Located in the strip mall. Came here on a Friday afternoon for a refill on my lash extensions with Tina. Tina was very welcoming, professional and took me in right away. The refill appointment took about about 1.5 hours. My lashes came out thick and beautiful! I have the typical Asian Lashes (short and sparse) so Tina did a great job. Although this place is not as grand as other neighboring salons, it was very clean, simple and warming. Staff seemed to be very friendly and nice as well even though I did not try their other nail services. I will be back to try them and will make sure to update my review :) read more

Absolutely my favorite nail salon in Cypress! Everyone is incredibly kind and their service is amazing! I got my eyebrows waxed, a deluxe pedicure with gel, and a full set of dip nails! I got my nails done for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, so I picked a nail color for each one of her albums, and they turned out PERFECT! They had amazing colors to choose from, and Tina was just as excited to try out all of the colors as I was! I will definitely be coming back! read more

Disclaimer: I'm using my boyfriend's yelp account because I'm not an avid yelper, however I had to just let all the ladies (and gents) out there know how amazing this salon is! Today was my first time, and to be honest I'm a nail salon hopper every 2 weeks I'm out trying a new place in hopes of finding a place I can be considered a "usual" but I've yet to stumble across my salon until today. I came in for a shellac manicure and Tina did my nails, she is amazing! She was extremely careful with my nails and did everything to my liking. The reason why I haven't found my spot is because I've always had people cut too much cuticle, skimp on a third coat of polish or shape my nails unevenly. I may be a little jaded towards my nails, but why not treat yourself? I've never gotten so many compliments from my friends on how great my nails look. Please don't make the same mistake I just did and go somewhere that doesn't use bar mop towels for your legs, have the tile floor worn out in front of the chairs, and doesn't store some of the salts in pet treat containers. This place was not zen. They did a meh job, I actually don't know who did my $45 pedicure because she never introduced herself. She did however burn my skin on my uneven eyebrows while waxing them. The big toe got nicked and their solution to fix was just gob more nail polish. Any other place actually fixes the nail polish by using remover and then repainting, not there. I feel like I wasted $52, please go somewhere else and feel like you are in a spa like experience and not a dollar store. read more

This is my absolute go to place! I've always been salon hopping trying out different nail salons and this one is the best yet! I always go for a mani and pedi and the prices are reasonable. Compared to all the other salons I've been to, I was the most impressed by how clean everything was. They make sure everything is sanitized for each guest. I usually get acryllics done there and mine usually last about 3 weeks. I have gotten my eyebrows waxed once and they did a pretty good job. They were really good. I got the Deluxe Pedicure with their $5 off coupon on yelp/website. You can access it with your smartphone via yelp when you check in there. The deluxe pedicure was really nice. They put a mask and other interesting concoctions on my feet. They also used hot stones to massage my calves and feet. The reason I gave them four stars is they didn't offer to use the scraper on my feet to get rid of deeper rough spots. And they didn't have many options on nail polish colors especially in good brands. But the nail color has lasted and hasn't had any chipping in the first week. read more

TINA IS MY GIRL!! This was my first time here (06/23/2019) I've been looking for a new nail home and yes I've found it! I came in around closing because had been rushing , and the nail techs were all extremely nice to me. I asked if theyd prefer me come the next day, but Tina insisted that it was okay, and she was happy to do my nails! It felt genuine! I really The fact that she communicated with me honestly and informed me I would have to wait just a little, everyone was busy working so I absolutely respect that. The wait wasn't even long it was about 20mins . Tina let me show her pictures of what I wanted and clarified with me that she understood what I was looking for . I I initially went in to have my nails done short stiletto style with dip powder red , however when she got to the first polish/primer I already liked what I was seeing and she did too and we stuck with a clear dip which came out looking fabulous! Worst experience of my life! I made an appointment a week ago for the Thursday, September 12th at 10:30 am....When I walked into Lotus Zen Spa at 10:25am, I told Tina ( the owner) I had a scheduled 10:30 appointment with Lee. ...Lee was working on another lady at the time and told me it would be another 15 minutes until she could get to me...at 10:50 Lee turned on hot water and asked me to put my feet in it and walked away...She did not ask me if the water was too hot, which it WAS too HOT, or did she turn on the massaging chair for me , the control was hanging on the ground so I could not see it. At 11:05 am Lee is finally finished with customer and walks over to me and asks me if the water was ok? And asks me if I would like the massaging chair on...which is what she should of done in the first place. At 11:08 Lee clips deep into the skin of my big toe on my right foot, I screamed , and my toe starting bleeding profusely.... I noticed Tina ( the manager) was in the chair over , with another customer and did not even ask me if I was ok, she just gave me a dirty look and rolled her eyes and looked away. What kind of manager does this? ..UNACCEPTABLE!!!....Lee went on with my pedicure and apologized for cutting into the skin of my right toe ( it took 10 minutes for the bleeding to stop) ...I noticed the three lady customers ,in the spa, that were all EXTREMELY LOUD and RUDE were all carrying on with each other, like they were all at a wild party. These 3 women all thought the incident ( of Lee cutting my Toe) was so funny and were all smirking at me and laughing under their breath...At that point Lee proceeded to RUSH my pedicure and it took exactly 28 minutes.... My 10:30 am appointment should of been honored , it was not, Pedicurist (Lee) did not even start with me until after 11am. I was not a peace, which I should of been, I did not feel welcomed, which I should of been , and in the establishment there were 3 women customers that were EXTREMELY LOUD for the whole time I was there, in fact they were all still there when I left.....Is Lotus ZEN a Party Pad? ..These women were ARROGANT, LOUD and extremely RUDE..... I made an appointment at 10:30 am and you should of honored that, you did not and that is UNACCEPTABLE!!!.....Lee you would of gotten a better tip from me if the pedicure was done correctly and my scheduled appointment was honored, it was not ...And WHO can relax inside of a SPA when there are 3 woman who are EXTREMELY LOUD and RUDE? You should have rules and the rules should be enforced...A sign of very POOR MANAGEMENT!!! I arrived an hour before they closed for a full set. Which typically takes about 40-50 minutes. From the moment I sat down at the technicians table to the moment I got up, it was an hour and forty-five minutes!! When I walked in, I knew I had other things to do that evening and anticipated it being about an hour. I asked the technician if they had time for a full set.. Being sensitive to the fact that they closed in a hour. She said oh yes, sit right here. She neglected to mention that I would have to wait about 30-40 minutes to be helped. I previously had the dip acrylic nails and she thought she could soak them in acetone to remove them. I was uneducated on the product as well as she, but after 10 minutes of soaking in acetone I noticed nothing was happening. She continued to let me soak them in acetone for another 30 minutes while she finished her other clients manicure. The actual nails look very good, IMO. 3 stars for good quality work and nails and because of my past experiences at this location. Just extremely disappointing that I wasted my evening for no reason. She could've given me a heads up that it would be a while and I wouldn't have agreed! read more

Terrible experience! I went in yesterday for a pedicure. I spent my time relaxing with a book and left without really inspecting my feet. When I got home I realized the technician cut down the sides of my big toenails extremely far... My nail bed is exposed on both sides of both nails.Toenails are to be cut straight across and not down! They began to really hurt and throb by the time I went to bed. Today the right toe is bright red and even more painful than yesterday. I'll be seeing a doctor soon for possible infection and may well end up with ingrown toenails. read more

The employees at this salon are extremely sweet and you can tell that they really care about their customers. They could tell that my nails had been over filed when I had gotten shellac done by another salon and they also advised me about proper cuticle care to keep my skin from drying out. However, they painted the shellac on too thin and it chipped the same day. I went back the next day to get it fixed and they did it free of charge but it chipped again immediately. I would suggest asking them to paint more than just two coats of shellac to keep it from chipping. Also, I would call ahead to make an appointment because there were only two people working both days I had gone in and if they are busy you will have to wait quite a bit. EDIT: My shellac hasn't even lasted a week :( read more

I was excited to see that they were open on Sunday's and very close to where I live. But my experience was not good. I'm guessing when the tech was pushing down my cuticles she cut my toes on both feet. Or it happened when she was buffing my nails. Not sure and it doesn't matter. After I told her it was burning, the first time she pointed to the side of my toe (suggesting it was a ingrown toe nail). I told her again and by that time she could see where it was bleeding so she got some cotton and put alcohol on it. Ouch!!!! I wish there was a feature to post a pic so you could see how butchered my toes look. Now my toes are red, swollen and not cute looking at all. I promise I won't be back here. 2/14/16 A lot of this could have been easily resolved if the nail tech would of had some sympathy and would have apologized for what she did. Even when I paid they quickly took my money with zero discount offered. $35 for a painful zen pedi and the wound on my foot is still not fully healed. read more

While leaving reviews and searching Cypress, I came across Lotus Zen. I read the reviews and the location is convenient to where my kids have activities so I thought I'd check it out. I took my two younger kids (13 & 9) to go get pedicures today. The place is smaller than others I have been too but it ended up being a positive as it didn't make me feel like I was just one of a ton of customers or that I was being processed through. My daughter and I got the Deluxe pedicure. Let's just say that their attention to detail and the massaging/reflexology and hot stones is beyond what I have received anywhere. I am pretty sure this is the best pedi I have received. My 9 year old got the kids mani/pedi. I loved the way they treated him, talking to him and asking him if he liked what they were doing and making sure he was comfortable. My daughter also got a manicure. She loved the hand/arm massage and was going on about it when we left. The staff here is very considerate of the customers and the owner is all about making sure you are happy. I'm looking forward to coming in when I drop my kids off for their lessons. My daughter and I can't wait to try the eye waxing, facials, and massages. One thing we noticed and loved was that the staff doesn't have their cell phones with them answering calls and talking. All the ladies here were taking care of customers and dealt with everyone so professionally. Someone really knows how to run a good business. AMAZING! I stopped by this shop looking to get my eyelashes done somewhere closer to home. I went in and they said that they are waiting on a customer to come in but may be able to take me. Well, they couldn't but no worries we book me for the next day. I called early the day of my appointment to move it up and they knew who I was just by hearing my voice! WOW! So I got in a bit early and they greeted me by name the second I walked in. I went into their little facial/eyelash room and got cozy. A nice pillow under my knees (huge help) and a blanket to throw over me. The whole experience was just lovely. Quick and beautiful work! Ten times better than the other salon I'd been going to on Voss. They had a special going on and that helped. So I decided to go back again to get a pedicure. Once again (w/out an appointment) I walked in and was greeted by name. They asked how I was doing and if my lashes were looking good. Well they were and I had 'things' going on at home but oh well. So I got my toes done and it was amazing work again. Gentle and thorough work. The deluxe was heavenly! I went on my merry little way and have gone back for a touch up on the lashes that lasted a WEEK longer than the other place. This place is super!
