Food was awesome every time I went there! And service was great too. Highly recommended

tofu blend

as a guest, pre arranged 8 course CNY celebration menu, owners did not disappoint, excellent service, array of Cantonese Hakka dishes to name a few (fresh vegetables, crispy chicken, in house roast duck, lettuce wraps, tofu blend, s/s pork spare ribs and special imported lemon tea ). definitely not typical orders of orange chicken, walnut prawns, general whomever, fried rice etc.

Orange chicken
Rob M.

Got this as a to go order. The flavor of the sesame beef was actually good. However, there was not a single piece of meat in the dish. It was literally just fried bread and the sauce. It was actually inedible because of the texture. I had to dump it out. The orange chicken had meat, though it tasted very dry, but the flavor was awful. I'm very disappointed and it's not how I wanted to spend $50 on to go items.

Roast Duck

Togo, half roasted duck $31. No napkin, no utensils, no sauce. The duck is average. Mehh...

Second time to this place, Business owner is from canton area in China, he shared with me that he starts the chef career when he was 19 yrs old. He definitely knows cooking! The food is pretty good, we order 4 dishes from secret menu, which is not on the regular ones, the reason is pretty simple, there are some dishes not really known to the local but very popular to me as a Chinese, if you are curious, ask the boss, lol. The picture is the lotus rice dumpling, this was what I got for dragon boat festival, super good!

Green Beans Sizzling Black Pepper Beef Taro Steamed Pork Belly

Great variety of food selection with decent Chinese flavor can be provided. Highly recommend this place for a home-like Chinese cuisine taste. Have been to this place more than 5 times, and the food here is always fresh clean with great taste. The food here is definitely not in a strong and salty side, instead, you can really take some umami and fresh feeling out of it. Most importantly, you will not get thirsty after taking the food here!

What is the average price of food, as I understand is Chinese food? Thank you!

It is a bit higher than some basic Chinese restaurants by maybe 10-20% but not too expensive. It is cheaper than Fat's in Folsom but does not have the same fancy ambiance either. They have many more fancy dishes than most Chinese places, but… Read more

SoCal and the Bay Area are where it's at for Asian food... and Vancouver!! Okay, sorry, I'm rambling now. Anyways, I'm glad I ventured a little farther out to Folsom to grab some delicious food. Their orange chicken is super flavorful, and I loved that they used real oranges. The Kung Pao chicken is amazing--they include a variety of veggies and squash, which I loved. The beef chow mein was on point as well. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the chow mein was a little too soft (though the flavor was there), and the price felt a bit steep for the portion size. Three orders for $60--eeep! I miss the good ol' days when a whole plate was filled to the rim and overflowing from the to-go box for $12-$15, but it is what it is. Anyways, if you've got the dough, I'd spend it here. Have a great day!

I just experienced the best food and hospitality from Hometown Dumpling…read more I went for lunch on a Friday and with their help, I ordered the pork and shrimp dumplings, BBQ pork buns, and my favorite, sesame balls. The portions were generous, and everything was delicious. There were so many dumplings in the order that I couldn't finish them, and I took them, cold, to my teenager, and she thought they were fantastic. Further, they let me stay in their restaurant and finish a work project. I took up a seat and they were nothing but accommodating to me. I really appreciate all the hospitality that they showed me while I was there working.

Wife doesn't like chives so it didn't sit well with her but she and I agree the skin is thin enough and has good chewy texture. My son and daughter actually love the chives and tofu dumplings and my son said he would like to have it everyday! Wishing they would have more vegetarian options but until then we will be doing order out when the mood strikes!

Listen, on a real bad day, I'll pour some bourbon neat. But on a regular bad day? Banana cream pie from Fats will have me forgetting my problems real quick. I walked in knowing exactly what I wanted, two slices of Banana Cream Pie. No distractions. No new friends. No plot twists. I couldn't wait to get home to have me some silky banana cream pie (lol). Then here comes the young man at the front, asking if I've tried their strawberry pie. Sir... stay focused. I said no, asked if he tried it, and if it was actually worth betraying my original order. He said he liked it. That slice of strawberry pie made it into my order. Y'all, he didn't lie. That Strawberry Cream Pie? A solid 9/10. Had me questioning my loyalty for a second. Banana cream pie, never disappoints. Will always be my favorite. Now, did I need three slices of pie? Absolutely not. Did I eat like I lost custody of self-control? Yes. Will I be back to do it again? I'll always be a repeat offender. lol

Not fancy, not trying to be trendy... just home-style food prepared with care and ready when hunger hits. The teriyaki chicken bowl was delicious with a savory sauce that wasn't overly heavy or too sweet, but honestly the standout for me was the Filipino food menu. The lechon, chicken adobo, and pancit really make this place feel extra special and local. The food has that comforting homemade feeling that reminds you why smaller family style spots are usually the hidden gems. And of course... I couldn't leave without getting the halo-halo. I went with the avocado version because honestly... green dessert for the green T-Rex just made sense. Instant happiness. This is the kind of place that may not look fancy on the outside, but the food brings that comforting home-cooked feeling that keeps people loyal. The order was ready in about 15 minutes, as estimated. I ordered the Spicy Ramen, but skipped the egg and pork (and requested extra veggies in their place). They did seem to give extra veggies, and the bowl was loaded with spinach and mushroom slices, along with several fish cakes and peppers. The Ramen noodles were cooked well, and I enjoyed eating everything, except the broth itself (not much flavor, and salty, to my taste). My husband looked at photos here on Yelp, and found one labeled "Stir fried veggie udon". That isn't on the online menu, and when I tried to order it, I was told that it was Veggie Udon (which is usually cooked in broth) "stir-fried in Teriyaki sauce" (not on the menu). And indeed it was. He loved it. The Teriyaki sauce was not overly sweet (like many other places). The stir-fry was well done (not oily), with a very good selection of veggies, and some tofu. The veggies and noodles were cooked to perfection. It was a big hit for him. Prices were quite reasonable, and the few people I interacted with were very pleasant. It was a very nice lunch experience.
