This store has everything a person can ask for, I just feel that the employees can be a little more nice and welcoming!

There are 3 Lot Less stores by my job. I always go to the Chambers Street one because it's a lot closer. But now that I've gone to this Fulton street one and saw all their products, I'm going to be coming to this location more often. The lines are ridiculously long compared to other locations but it's worth it for the savings you're going to get. They have a lot of good deals here especially the St. Ives apricot scrub that costs around $3 compared to your local pharmacy store where it's around $10! Disposable razors and Dove body wash are all affordable here. Prices are very low here. Also they got black legging tights that are very affordable. Lots of socks and bras that you can get for cheap prices. They also pack of 5 tapes and 48 pack of Kirkland batteries for $12.99, which is definitely way cheaper than Costco! Lots of seasonal products like Christmas ornaments and decor for cheap prices. Just the style to my opinion is very glittery and too flashy for my taste. I try to come here time to time to score good deals because their products are sometimes ever changing. Sometimes they gave the same products and other times they got new products on their shelves. You have to check it time to tune to make sure you score something good! I love their shopping tote bag too. They have the standard size and large size. Very sturdy bags and reusable. One thing I wish they did was to do something about the long line. It's very long at times and takes forever. read more

I must confess that I am addicted to Lot Less. They have amazing variety of clothes that are high end at discount prices with the tags on it. Most of them from Macys and Bloomingdales. I saw a pair of Gucci high heels for $16.99 which they were my size but they were 5.5. But I got nice Miz Mooz sandals made in Portugal for $16.99 and those cost over $179. The lines are long but they move fast. The nice and pretty Spanish girl at the return line is super nice. Maria and Lula are also very helpful and accommodating! This was and always will be my favorite Lot Less store location. Granted, they are a discount store but there are so many fun things to buy at bargain prices. Who doesn't love a bargain? I wouldn't buy shoes or clothing here but there are some great finds at Lot Less. This particular location has a large Christmas section. I browsed here last night and purchased two very adorable Father Time/Santa miniature figurines-for the tree or just decor. Only $3.99 each. I still like their mini food section with some pretty darn good olive oils and imported sweets. Toiletries such as shampoos and body wash are usually a hit purchase. This location is spacious and orderly. Whenever I am in the area, I'll swing by and usually leave with a bag in hand. A variety of merchandise that's always changing. read more

The lady in the gray shirt was very rude to me and treated me like I was stupid. It felt very unnecessary because she had no reason to be rude. I asked where aluminum foil was and she said they had none. I ended up asking another employee and she showed me where the foil was. Why be lazy and tell me no? YES YES YES! My love for discount stores just went up. Sadly, I had to be mindful that I wasn't at home & I came to NY with only a carry-on -- NEVER AGAIN. If not, I would've bought the store up! Some people knock these types of stores but why pay high prices for a "brand" when you can get that same "brand" for cheap. Is it real? Well can you read is my response. Plus the brand tags are right there for you to see & if that's your main concern then this might not be the store for you. I picked up a nice Perry Ellis sweater with a retail value of $70 and only paid $7.99, a nice winter vest retail value $65 and paid $10 & a plethora of $3.99-$4.99 under garments. I just love a good deal, personally. So if I do make another trip to NY, I will be sure to come with an empty suitcase & stock up ! read more

A lot of amazing low price items!! There is always a line to check out but its worth the wait for the low prices you are getting. They sell everything from clothes to snacks to home necessities. It's a little messy in the clothing and shoe area sometimes due to the high foot traffic, especially during the afternoon. If you don't mind taking the time looking around for a good deal on something, this is the place! The food, home, and bath area are usually (more) organized. It's tough to find an employee for assistance since it could be a little hectic, but I always return as some of their prices are unbeatable. However, always check the expiration dates/quality of all items, food, hair dye, clothes, etc. as this store carries expired, soon to be expired, and slightly damaged items. Store can be a bit messy as the merchandise turnover is high and there are always boxes in the aisles, making it a challenging shopping experience. If you find something you like, buy more of it as it likely will not be there on your next visit. Workers are not exceptionally friendly but are efficient as there tends to be long times. I came here and I carried my own basket. I believe Latasha was training a new employee. I put the basket and I I slowly started to take the items out of my basket she started barking orders saying I need to remove the basket I need to push the basket towards the side I need to do to clear the space. I understand this is no high-end place but at the same time every customer should be treated with respect regardless of the type of store. Employees like Latasha will make this place a horrible experience. If she is the manager this business will go down. Management I hope you're reading this because in this economy every penny counts on people like me would go to the real deal store which is close by instead. So, you know how you have Ross, Marshall's and TJmax... well this place is like a low scale Walmart turned Ross. I mean come on Ross has a security guard what does that tell you? I could not make sense of this store, find anything or an employee to assist us. My husband claimed a ladder to get our product we were wanting from the top shelf because we could not find an employee. Things on the shelves were all sorts of a mess. The prices were ok. With a vivid memory this retail space was once the former home to Strand Book Store. There are many good deals where patrons can still take the American Dollar further for home furnishings as towels, shower curtains, books and a limited DVD selection. Aisles are not entirely cramped with merchandise. It appears whatever was unsold at mega department stores from five seasons ago are now sold at half price at discounted stores like Lot Less. I discovered Lot Less Closeouts last night while finding my way over to Suteishi for dinner with my friend Nicole. I almost walked by but for some reason, the name of the store and the huge display of brand name bathroom products enticed me to come into the store. Brand name pens $.99, vitamin water (regular and zero) only $1. Noxema products $2.99. I got face wash and more of my Noxema cloths for only $6. They have everything from housewares, electronics, kitchen ware all for very much below market prices. The reason for this is, when companies decide to change their packaging they send products with old packaging to stores like Lot Less and that's how you get awesome deals. Yup! You pay a lot for something as trivial as packaging. The store is also huge! The only thing not so nice about this place are the staff. This is a great discounted shop near my work. I like to go there to pick up random stuff to buy such as Sarabeth's Jam, Lindt's Chocolate, iPhone gadgets and other items. You can find some good surprises here for a lot less, literally. I didn't really check out their clothes section but apparently you can find good discounts here too. I did see some heavily discounted Cuisinart cookware today too. If you want to find treasure, this will be a good place to check out. read more

Those familiar with the Big Lots chain will love this place. Lot-less is Manhattan's versions of Big Lots... and they feature closeouts, cut-outs, & discontinued items galore! In other words, it's a bargain hunter's dream store! Some of the stuff at Lot-less is really cool, and they do offer some name brand close-outs... but, you will find plenty of undesirables, too... so just be careful. Recently, Tony and I bought a Bluetooth speaker as a gift for someone, and it was broken right out of the box. I guess we should have known... if it looks cheap, it probably is cheap. Glad they have a liberal return policy! That speaker goes back on Wednesday! Note that this particular location of Lot-less in FiDi is off the beaten path and rarely crowded, so stop in if you're nearby. You're sure to find a deal. read more

Lot Less is a well organized discount store in FiDi. Basically, they have all things to suit your needs; whether it's a sweet tooth, need a quick travel charger, snacks and beverages, household items, childrens toys, etc.. The prices are extremely reasonable, the store is neat which is the most suprising thing to me because most stores such as this either have rude employees or the store is poorly managed and sloppy. The sole negative about the place is overcrowding and people clogging the aisles. I haven't been this happy with a discount store since Ralph's discount which was on Chambers Street, but closed down some years ago and I believe is now a different Lot Less location. However, If you plan on shopping here try to avoid this store at all costs during lunch hours (12-1:30) because it's usually a madhouse. read more

Today I was walking by this store with two friends and they were really surprised that I hadn't ever heard of Lot Less. They eagerly acquiesced to my desire to go inside and we were there for quite awhile; the selection is *huge* and the prices are great. I particularly wanted to buy a pair of jeans because the prices were fantastic - but there's no changing room, so I nixed that idea because I wasn't sure about the size. Some good deals. This location used to be the old Strand Book Store. Overall, good value, in the "dollar(s) store"-type store format. Good selection of books, CD's and DVD's. (noticed a copy of the movie The Wrestler for 4.99...that's a better price than I've seen, even at discount DVD stores, and it lists on Amazon for 15.99) Small home appliances, glassware, and children's toys, etc. The store is a little junky, with a LOT of stuff in the aisles. They really need to stay on top of that better. The store in general, could be a LOT better kept if the employees spent less time standing around talking to each other. This is a pretty good discount store and is a good place to go for random items on the cheap. Just went in yesterday & it's still as decent as I remember it. The only downsides are that it can get crowded at times and you can not find staff to help you easily but what do you expect from a discount store? Don't travel out of your way to go if you don't live in NYC since there are cheaper stores in Jersey and Long Island but if you can't get to those, this Lot Less is a decent alternative. read more

This store has everything from home care, makeup, clothing, food, pet stuff, and Tupperware. I have got many of good things from this store and I have got a few things that maybe i should've just left there. If purchasing the pastry or the breads make sure to look at the expiration date. I went to the Church Street store and purchased some assorted chocolate bars - I specifically came in to find good prices on good chocolate, which you can get at Lot Less Closeouts. But the selection here was disappointing and the line moved very slowly even though it wasn't long at all. And I can't put the blame on the cashiers, the customers don't have it all together! I left here and decided to go over to the FULTON St. store, which was a mob scene, lunch time, and there I picked myself up 3 bags of Food Should Taste This Good Chips - .99 bag. August 2019 expiration date (not that I give much of a s##t about the dates) - these retail in the supermarkets for $ 3.98. But they are getting FIVE STARS for this reason ... I almost put the chips down and was going to leave because the line was truly very long. Oh, Lot-Less! I must say, this store is such a experience at times. Mainly, I come in here for general basics like Toothpaste, Cleaners, Soap, Etc. But, every time I'm in here, I always find something kinda, unique. Like... Dettol from England or Nivea from Germany. Another time - I needed a moving dolly, while I was moving my apartment, and found the perfect thing for $30, which retailed for $40+ online. Just today, I was in there and bought a new combination lock for the Gym. $4... there, and I found the exact same one, minutes later at CVS for $12. The store is consistently understaffed, with too little cashiers and sometimes poorly zoned and organized. But, I go in for the adventure and it would seem my fellow shoppers do the same. read more

Love this chain! I always find amazing bargains. Awesome place for Christmas decor. You can create the most beautiful tree at this store. However, ornaments are only .99 cents and more here. This place is not a meas. It does get super busy with lunch crowd but before and after that, its all good. Workers here are great and friendly as they're expedited merchandise and cashier.
