As a longtime Bloomingdale's member, I'm truly shocked by the level of service at this location. The store was nearly empty on a Friday night, yet finding help was like pulling teeth. I asked a simple question about a product to at least ten different employees and received a different--and incorrect--answer each time. When I approached a woman wearing a long silk dress and heavy makeup to ask if her register was open, she avoided eye contact, paused for several seconds, then finally told me her counter was closed. I couldn't help but feel dismissed and uncomfortable--especially as an Asian customer. What made the experience even more unsettling was seeing her helping another (white) customer at the same register just minutes later. Thankfully, another associate--also a Black woman with short hair--was kind and welcoming and ended up helping me. But overall, this visit left me feeling judged, disrespected, and unwelcome. If you're looking for a positive shopping experience, I suggest looking elsewhere. I won't be returnin

Bloomingdales 59th street is still my favorite store. I came to the just imagine shopping party. It exceeded my expectations. So many yummy treats and drinks. I had a great time and met some fabulous employees. I found a perfect dress at Johnny Was and so much more. Great shopping deals too.

Bloomingdales 59th Street is my favorite location to shop. I got my first store credit card from Bloomingdales, and I have always shopped at the 59th street location or the Bergen County, NJ location. The NYC store is jaw dropping gorgeous! Not to mention the alluring scents. It smells like money as soon as you walk in the door. The smell is very rich, and elegant! All of the store staff are super friendly. I bought myself a gift online, had to go in store to pick up. Ended up buying gifts for friends as well. Even if you go to window shop, definitely stop by this location, you can thank me later. Retail therapy never hurt anyone...:)

Bloomingdale's is a place everyone knows, and everyone should visit. They really have such an amazing selection, from the highest to the lowest (well, not really lowest), end merchandise! A staple of NYC since well before I was born... and that was quite a while ago tbh. This trip to Bloomingdale's was to swing but the Prada store, and of course, get a Prada bag. And that we did. Service and staff are always so helpful and friendly.

DEPARTMENT STORE: The flagship historic Store which has been standing at 59 ST/LEX AVE since 1886. The Luxury Department Store was founded back in 1861. Frequented BLOOMINGDALE'S when I used to work down the block at the now defunct ALEXANDER'S Department Store. WORTH VISITING.

I've been a Bloomingdale's gal since I was a child. I grew up in New Jersey and I have many memories of shopping at the Bloomingdale's at the Short Hills Mall with my mom. Then has an adult, when I moved to New York the 59th St. in Lexington Avenue Bloomingdale's has been my favorite department store. Many frozen yogurts (the best frozen yogurt) at Forty Carrots. Many more memories shoppping with my mom. It is an icon of New York. One of my favorite places to shop. Yes some of the price points are expensive, but there are things in so many different price ranges. They're always on top of new styles and new design designers. Sometimes, there's not enough sales people which is my only negative criticism . Although, I've also worked with many kind sales associate who have helped me pick out outfits, and given me honest critiques on what works best for me. I'll always be a Bloomies gal!

Came here for Bloomingdale's annual SantaLand~Best holiday Ever event located on the 6th Floor. Walked past the spectacular winter holiday display and near the bedding/mattress section; you'll see Santa's elves directing the line to wait for the grand meet and greet with Santa. Bloomies is offering a complimentary photo opt with old Saint Nick and two free photos to take home. Kids also get a free goodie bag of candies as well. The wait in line wasn't too long and the staff were really friendly. When the moment arrives to meet Santa~ all the anticipation and joy were brought front and center. This department store has been a staple of NYC finest luxury products~as it will continue this trend for years to come.

    Is Bloomingdale's open for covid19?

No , so far it is still closed as of today 6/25

Anybody knows whether Bloomingdale here has make-up rooms where you can sit and have table with mirror to look? Thanks

All the make-up counters have a sitting area with mirrors but not a private room just for you. There are multiple bathrooms and they all have mirrors as well. There are some private unisex bathroom stalls as well.

We made a significant purchase. ($3.000) The very next day many of the items purchased went on sale. I was notified of the sale via emails direct from Alice & Olivia. Sadly, I left town and could not assist with the adjustment. I asked my daughter to return to the store for an adjustment since it was less than 12 hours since our initial purchase. She went to the store for an adjustment with her receipt. The store manager, Danni gave my daughter the run around regarding her adjustment. She was told she needed the receipt and the clothing. My daughter had to return to the store again with the receipt and clothing in hand the next day. Danni gave her the run around again. She did not want to honor the adjustment but finally did. I had to call and speak with Danni on the phone to make this happen. Danni said she was following store policy. I googled the store adjustment policy and it lists a 7 day adjustment policy. The adjustments we were requesting was day # 2 & # 3 after the sale. The worst part about this whole experience is my daughter is physically handicapped. She had to make two additional trips to the store for an adjustment. As a mother of a handicapped daughter, this shocked me at how insensitive Danni handled the entire situation. Danni can see my daughter is physically handicapped! If the adjustment return policy is to have the receipt and clothing in hand it should be listed on the A &O website. It is not. I feel Danni needs sensitivity training. She could have handled the adjustment request much differently especially seeing my daughter is handicapped. This will be the last time I purchase anything from this location. The purchase which was a good experience turned into an awful one.

They're owned by Urban Outfitters which also owns Free People so the adjacencies between the aesthetics, products and target consumers make sense. They're geared toward the mid 20s to mid-40s age range, and prices tend to be on the mid to higher side for this type of product. Not to level of high-end designer but generally more than your mid-range mall retailers. In the countless number of times I've visited, staff here usually are cordial. Additionally. everything's either being neatly organized or stacked on most of the shelves and inside drawers except for a couple of areas here and there. The price range is reasonable for most apparel items besides the thick puffer jackets + sweaters + graphic tees. Even though there seem to be signs for the fitting room and cashiers/self-checkout, it's still pretty confusing to walk around and find stuff imo because of how large the Uniqlo space is. I have to flag down and ask different staff about the whereabouts of cashiers as I'm paying with cash. There's a bit of a line for those paying by cash despite several 5-6 cashiers being present while no line at all for self-checkout (card only). No line for the fitting room though. Generally, staff is shown as helpful + amiable + patient in a professional manner towards customers. My favorite section is probably by the heattech area. There're 3 various heattech types of warmth for both adults and children. Of course you can wear whichever layer as you please at the end of the day. The fabric is the thinnest in material. Very comfy to wear without being too stuffy on the inside. I bought two long sleeved heattech pieces today ($19.90 each). They also come in different colors and styles that might be suited to the personal taste of each and every customer. I was greeted by Marie, who showed me one of the coats that I loved on sight. I turned and was instantly riveted by a magnificent sapphire blue coat dress displayed on a mannequin. Full disclosure --- Dressing rooms trigger the worst of my claustrophobic reactions. As though she could read my mind, Marie whisked a medium sized dress (size selected by me) over my turtleneck and trousers. It was gorgeous, but the fit didn't meet my high expectations. Marie instantly recognized that I should be in a size small, and in a matter of seconds had me in the smaller size. Cinderella's reaction to her Fairy Godmother's fashion magic couldn't have been more joyous than mine when I saw myself in the full length mirror. As a woman in the 7th decade of life, I can state with hard-earned authority, this was easily the most transformative experience I've ever had in my long career as a fashionista. Fast forward, I wore the dress to an event of Friday. I've had custom made dresses that didn't fit every inch of my body like this one, or flatter my figure as perfectly. Equally amazing is that the dress is so comfortable, I didn't want to take it off when I got home. On a scale of one to ten, everything about the experience --- the service, the quality of the fabric and the magic of the perfect tailoring scores off the scale to an easy 20 points. Without exaggeration, at least a dozen ladies at the Westport, CT luncheon asked where I'd found this magnificent creation. Forgive me. I selfishly decided NOT to tell them. XXX P.S.
