Since moving to Forest Hills this one spot can complete your party list. People actually attempt to…read morehelp you out. You don't always find employees who care or actually help you. Nothing today is inexpensive but at least the quality is worth while.Unfortunately many of these stores in Astoria and Brooklyn have closed. If you are accustomed to go straight there very disappointing they are no longer available! Toinette

I wish there is a zero for customer service. Not sure if the cashier is the owner but similar to…read moreother posts she is absolutely rude. A tip - work on the attitude, you should not be screaming at your customers especially if these are paying. You yelled at a person in front of me and then me. You yelled at me for not knowing where the basket goes and then for a bag you even forgot to charge. I bought over $35 in items and I told her I would need a bag which I was ok paying for it. She forgot to add the bag - I guess because she was talking to her employee. Unfortunately, I had no cash and she said she was not going to charge my credit card as the minimum was $10 and her ripped plastic bag was 50 cents. Not even 5 cents - it was 50. While she put all my 13 items in the bag she kept yelling at me. I'm sure she did not become poor for not charging me for the bag. I like to support small businesses but I will definitely not support this place anymore. One more tip - respect is earned. You never know if someone is having a hard day. Clients are also earned. Don't drive your clients to other stores where they are respected and treated kindly.

Gramercy, Stuyvesant Town

Can't cut an apple? Nor an avocado into perfect slices? Here on the second floor there is a gadget…read moreto cut both. What used to be found at the sadly lamented Bed Bath and Beyond store's vast kitchen gadgets are found here at Lot Stop. This discount store has three floors. Filled to the brim with cleaning products, household ware, food items, hair accessories, foods and frozen entrees and ice cream. Alam is the store manager and Abdul Rahman is the assistant manager. Both are from Pakistan and it's a pleasure to speak to them in Hindi. Alam has even gone to another floor to get something for me. Except for Westside Market it's rare that this is done. The store is clean and has been open for a few years. Customers are always coming in to see what to buy. However, one must know that post the pandemic and recent world events have inflated prices. So even if something now costs $4.99 just think what it would be at a finer store?

I was feeling a little frustrated and awkward moving the boxes in order to find my size. But I was immediately put at ease by Mohammad who graciously looked through every stack for me and then continued the search for me downstairs. He really helped me. Service there was amazing! While I was trying on a few styles, I had two more gentlemen ask me if I needed anything -- not in a pushy way, not breathing down my neck to push a sale -- just genuinely asking if there was anything I needed. They let me have my privacy and peace while trying on the shoes. And the prices were astonishing. I bought two pair!! I will definitely be going back there. Thank you for your help, gentlemen!
