After going here a few times this place is okay. The tots are awesome and a good standby. The fish tacos are also good. The semi-outdoor seating area is very nice, especially on nice days that are a little too windy to actually be seating outside. However, beyond that the place is just... okay. The service does not go beyond more than making sure 1) you have water, 2) you have ordered, 3) you have paid. I never really felt like they cared if I was there or not. Not the feeling a business wants to be promoting, but I could have been there on a off night. Maybe if I had order a beverage other than water??? Not sure, but not really willing to give this place another chance to find out. To sum up: the food is okay and the setting is nice, but the service is lacking. read more

"mmmm...Big piece of crab!" We thoroughly enjoyed the Dungeness Crab & Artichoke Quesadilla. And the Chowder. A bowl of that and the quesadilla is a well portioned meal for two people (see photo). My initial assumption is that the cooks do a good job; everything was tasty. But you'll be disappointed if you're looking for Aussie inspired food or regional seafood or meat. The menu is slew of burgers, sandwiches, and soups and salads. We were told that the meat and the prawns were shipped in. The crab is local (regional) so we took advantage of that. Expect: Decent size place! It is very clean with good food, competitive prices, and a great beer selection! I definitely recommend this place. We had a waitress who was extremely kind but did ask us "are you ready" about everytime she passed. I believe her intentions were genuine but it was a little much. Other than that, she was great! We arrived around 445 on a Thursday, during of one of the busiest times in long Beach (rod run) and our party of 4 was seated promptly. It was busy but we still had our choice of seating, we sat in the enclosed patio so we had a full view of passing traffic (hot rods). The special for the night was a 12oz. cut of primerib, with mashed taters and seasonal green beans for $22. We ordered two, along with two mixed drinks totaling $61 before tip. The primerib was perfectly cooked to our liking and one of the thickest cuts we've ever had. It was seasoned well and the horseradish with au jus had great flavor. Seasonal green beans were cooked perfect but needed seasoning. The Yukon gold mashed taters were unbelievable! NOT gummy or starchy, which is tough with Yukon gold's. Service was friendly & attentive but not hovering or annoying. The restaurant was clean with a lively crowd of all types. Our friends ordered crab cakes and fish and chips with tots, they said they were good. We will definitely be returning and I'll remember pics this time! **UPDATE** We returned and enjoyed another meal. This time having the prime rib dip and 2pc fish and chips. I imagine this place rocks during Seahawks games. It was quiet today and they were gracious enough to put on the Champions League for us, even though there were NCAA games on to start the tourney. They have some lovely hand crafted beers on tap. I enjoyed a cream ale. The mushroom swiss burger was fab and stayed in tact to the last bite. i despise a crumbly burger. Good find in Long Beach. Our family of 4 ate here twice in our vacation in August. Super nice & friendly service. Very accommodating. Wonderful range of choices on the menu. We didn't have one bad item. Loved the fish tacos, crab melt, hot wings, ahi tuna tacos, burgers, chowder and prime rib dip. Who doesn't love the option of tater tots or fries? Yum! 1st time here. The waitress was friendly even though it was a busy night. We ordered firecracker wings, bay shrimp cocktail, oyster shooters for appetizers. Shooters were huge and tasted great with the cocktail sauce. Great wings. For dinner we ordered the halibut fish & chips, clam chowder, rib eye steak, and gumbo. The halibut is really fresh. Steak was cooked perfect medium rare. The best was the amazing gumbo. Must have it again. The chowder was a let down and a bit watery. I will come back to try the ahi tower. read more

In Long Beach for a week during the off season, food choices can be limited. Add to that certain dietary restrictions and finding food can be a challenge. The Lost Roo was able to overcome both obstacles and provide tasty food consistent with our needs. This place has a very good lamb burger and a wonderful Tuna Stack. As ex-pat Australians it was a delightful surprise to find an Aussie sports bar. To be honest this is better than any other sport bar in Australia. The interior decor is tastefully done as they have replicated an 'Aussie shed' whilst creating a community and comfortable atmosphere while you 'nurse' a beer as you passionately cheer your favorite sports team. The food is solid 'pub grub' and the service is excellent from a vibrant and local staff. The 'Lost Roo' is definitely a must visit on your visit to Long Beach WA. read more

I wish a better review for the "lost Roo", no can do! First night in Long Beach, saw the good reviews for "Lost Roo", saw the clean and new building when entering town, so this was our first stop. We got there at 6:45pm for dinner and found the parking lot full, but found a spot on the street and went in and got a table. The menu looks great. I asked our server her favorites, and she named the gumbo as one of hers. So I ordered. There were two issues - too little sauce and too many orcra. The later may be my issue, but I have never had an issue with getting enough sauce to cover the rice that is served with gumbo. My partner had crab cakes with chips, which was really an excellent crab cake with most likely frozen tater tots. the tots were tasteless and in need of lots of Tatar/ketchup. Bottom line, good marks for the restaurant, but mediocre food scores. read more

It was ok but it was close to $100 and I've had much better flavored fish and chips before. So that was disappointing. Price didn't equal quality at all. Sat at the bar by myself. I was ignored until I caught the bar person's attention. I asked her if she could wipe the counter down. It was dirty. She acted put out an mad and said yes. She walked away and didn't come back and didn't wipe the counter down. Eventually I caught a server walking by. She offered me a drink and although she seemed annoyed when I asked her to wipe the counter down she did. I asked if I could order fried oysters and substitute bread in place of the coleslaw and French fries that went with it. She said she would have to charge me extra. Go figure. Bread is cheaper than french fries and coleslaw but she wouldn't even ask to see if it was possible to omit them. The bloody mary tasted bad as well. I paid for my drink and left and didn't order any food. The service was not welcoming or efficient. Won't go back. read more

My husband and I come to long beach every year for the rod run and decided this year to stay an extra day to relax at the beach, then go here for dinner since we LOVED it last year. It's now 7 pm and they're CLOSED! I'm so upset that the hours are listed as "Monday -Saturday (?)am-10 pm" and they aren't open at dinner time on a Monday. Lame. I meant to write this review a few weeks ago. This place was amazing. The food was very well priced. The drinks were a little weak, but I don't like strong drinks. My girl friend drinks old fashions and she said it was awesome but not very strong. Our waitress was new but answered every question and even went back and got the manager for things she couldn't answer. It was her first week working. We went with friends who had never been there either and we all left feeling full and satisfied. We picked this place because of the gluten free options and we were not disappointed.
