This was one of those 'best bite I ever ate' type of dinners. The Ahi tuna tower was a dinner that will long be remembered. So many flavor profiles bursting in each bite. We added the crab on top and it was generously loaded and succulent and sweet. The dinner was started with the fresh oyster shooters which were incredible. Others in our party had the Rueben sand which which were great as well. They loved the large seasoned fries. List Roo was observing Covid restrictions well. Go early! After 2 unsuccessful hours of razor clam digging, my date and I decided to find a place to warm up and grab dinner. There aren't a lot of restaurants to choose from so he chose Lost Roo. We started off with drinks to warm us up: He had the buttered rum (very delicious!) while I had the French Cocoa which was also good but way stronger than the rum drink. A couple sips in, I was already feeling tipsy since I was running on an empty stomach. Now, if you love chicken wings and sriracha as much as I do, you must order their chili rubbed hot wings! These fried crisp wings are coated with a sriracha chili sauce and served with bleu cheese and celery sticks on the side. The sauce has the perfect balance of spicy and sweetness. Besides the wings, my date and I were very happy with everything we ordered. Since we were unable to dig up any razor clams, my date had to order the special of the night: fried razor clams with Thai fries. You can't really go wrong with fried razor clams but the Thai fries were the highlight of this dish. I haven't had anything like this before the Lost Roo. It seems like they tossed crispy shoestring fries in some fish sauce and it had hints of lemongrass to it. It also came with some sort of sriracha dipping sauce that went well with the fries. I ended up getting the smoked salmon mac n cheese Jack cheese that had a hint of sriracha. Great comfort food! This dish was generous with the salmon and it's definitely a meal that can be shared. Awesome food and a very good take-out experience. For our anniversary my wife and I wanted a nice take out dinner to eat while parked on the beach. We ordered a sizeable spread from Lost Roo via their website, and we were very pleased! For me, the chowder, tuna tower, and steamed clams were my favorites. The take out was surprisingly quick, like maybe 20 minutes. That was good considering the parking lot was packed on a Saturday night and we had a big order. Yuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmm!!!! I got the tuna tower. Just so good. Rare tuna has a steak texture, and not fishy at all. (My husband who doesn't like seafood, really liked the taste he took.) The pickled ginger and very good soy sauce were an amazing flavor combination with the tuna. The avocado was perfectly ripe and the rice, nice and sticky. My husband got the rib eye and I was impressed. It had some sauce on it that bumped up the flavor to another level. Almost like they made a gravy out of pan drippings. We have been here 4 times over the last couple years. Glad to have a quality 'Outback'-like establishment with reliable good food, good service and ok prices on the Long Beach peninsula. Garlic Roasted Portabello $10. Flat Iron steak (my personal fave) - $19. Soft drinks a reasonable $2.75 (includes flavored lemonade). All good, and the 3 flatiron steaks I've ordered came out each time perfectly done. Service can be spotty at times, but not rude - this place absolutely MOBS on summer weekends especially holidays. So come here early - like at 5:30. The parking lot fills fast but that doesnt mean the place is full - check for a line out the door before you judge that. Ok editing now that I finally made it to their prime rib thursday: OMG this was the best seasoned prime rib i've ever had, and i've been to Vegas scores of times where prime ribs are just laying around on every street corner. Perfectly cooked (medium rare is how i like mine, dont you?), served with green beans and their delightful mashed potatos. Ask for the straight horseradish, mmmm. Checked hours on Google (said 830), on here (yelp, 9 pm), checked in at hotel at 8, walked to the restaurant. Got there at 820. They had a chalk board that said they close at 8 pm today. We wanted a to go order anyways. We asked the waitress, who rudely just uttered, we're closed. I said that's not what it says online. She restated rudely, closed. My lady asked if we can just order a Togo order as their entire dining room was filled and kitchen was working. She said they close at 8, can't do anything for us. We were in town for a few days just before off season was officially over. Many places in town were still closed during the weekdays because of covid/off season hours. This was the place we ate before leaving town and OH MY GOODNESS! All I wanted were fish tacos and this place made the most heavenly fish tacos. I'm usually pretty good at telling you what's in them, but I didn't stop long enough to figure out the bottom portion slaw. Seriously, my new favorite place to eat in town. If you like fish tacos with a little salty and sweet, you'll have to try this place! Next time I will have to try something else on the menu! Having spent a few days at Cape Disappointment State Park just 15 minutes up the road, this was one of the few modern, semi-upscale (not a dive) restaurants on the peninsula as far as I could tell. The Lost Roo has an Australian theme complete with a kangaroo in the entry and boomerangs for door handles. The décor is modern with concrete, wood and steel with high, open ceilings. I ordered the Roos' Smoked Prime Rib French Dip ($15) and my better half the Mushroom and Swiss Burger ($13) along with two 10 Barrel IPAs ($5 each). The IPAs were good, but they were served in a thin glass (10-12 ounces max), compared to other joints in town where you get a pint (16 ounces) for $5 or less. The French dip was supposed to come on a "hoagie roll", but it looked more like a slightly elongated hamburger bun to me. For $15, it was quite a "disappointment". The flavor was OK and the fries were decent, but I expected something more substantial for the price. My wife's burger was simply pitiful for $13, coming with an obviously frozen, pre-formed 4-5 ounce meat patty, a slice of Swiss cheese, and a couple of sautéed mushrooms on a store-bought bun. She had the tots instead of fries and they were straight out of the bag - frozen as well. The burger looked like something you would get a Jack In The Box and the tots were lukewarm ... RAALPH! At these prices, $50 for two, including tip, the Lost Roo would do well if they used fresh, handmade 6-8 ounce beef patties, a decent hoagie roll for the dip, and potatoes made in house, not straight out of a bag. Taking everything out of the freezer and throwing it on the grill or in the fryer is what you would expect at Denny's, not a place as nice as this ... WHAT A WASTE! Super nice people working here! Way better experience than the Pickled Fish. They didn't have their pint glasses for sale, but our waitress comped us with some shot glasses. After a day walking the beach, and watching the Loyality Parade in Long Beach , the Lost Roo was just the place to grab a bite. Always on the look-out for veggie items while traveling, the Lost Roo offered a great array of non-meat choices, (I had the Caprese Bagguette), along with burgers and seafood for all to enjoy! Choose the tater tots if you have the option they are crisp and done perfect. Many options for the perfect beer, including a new coconut ale which well, was toooo much coconut for me so I stuck with a nice porter. The seating in the bar was nicely done with bar stools, round tables and boomerang bars to sit around. The attention to detail in the décor was casual, but done with class. The servers, five star rating for sure! Smiles on everyone's face, and friendly, attentive service. Outdoor patio (enclosed if windy) is available and sports on three different stations. Our family came in here for dinner while camping at Cape Disappointment. We were all pretty happy with our meals although none of us cared for the coating on the french fries (weird thick crunch). Burgers, salads, and drinks were good. Service was outstanding - prompt and attentive. Prices were reasonable for a touristy beach town. Good menu choices. It is a little on the loud side in here due to the open concept so if you have a large party you probably wont be able to hear each other a few people down the table. I ate here three while at the beach- Steak - it was ok- I have had worse.... but I have had many better...we were seated by the door and the cold damp gusts were really uncomfortable (they fo have an anteroom that should have negated this But it just was not my day.. Steak was resting on a thin smear of mashed potatoes (mashers).. very stingy serving And done rangy vegetables... The second time I got a fish sandwich- it was very good Crisp warm fish - soft bun- crispy fries- Then comes my 3rd visit- I had to jam in food at some point- So I went there thinking yo get the fish sandwich again- real quick No muss no fuss - except I could not find it on the menu?!? Arrived 30 mins before closing, and after 5 mins of waiting, no one greeted us. After another 5 mins while sitting in the foyer, ordered our food on their website to go and waited in the parking lot and then drove over to the pick up spot at said time to get our order and than ate it in a parking spot next to that. So in that sense, the service was fast, food hot, and timely. Very good food here! I went with a Flat Iron Steak that came with Mash potatoes, and Green Beans. The Steak was cooked perfectly, to drink I went with a local Blonde beer, pretty good! The better half went with a Lamb burger and Apple Cider, We also had tater tot tub thing, I tried some her fries- and that might have been better than the tater tots lol, also tried a piece of the Lamb Burger and that was REALLY Good! We came to the Lost Roo last minute with three kids and three adults. The place was hoppin and yet the girl got us in right away and cleared a table for us. The food was excellent. Highly recommend the calamari. If you like a restaurant where you can hear each other talk, then this is a great place for you; good acoustics and the music isn't too loud. The server was excellent, even though she was extremely busy, you could tell she cared and we tipped her well for how she care for us. I am so disappointed that we went here our last night in town. There were other options we should have pursued. We got the clams for starters. The sauce was really great but the clams were very small and at least a 1/4 were empty. The night before we had the clams in towns and they were twice the size, juicy and the cooks made sure there were no empty clams on the serving plate. (This was at The Depot). I ordered the crab melt and I have never eaten such a tasteless melt in my life. How is that possible? The cheese had no flavor, the crab had no flavor, the tomato had no flavor? I don't know where they get their food but I would change. You are getting robbed. I thought for a second I might have covid but my wine tasted great and when we left we got dessert elsewhere and it was great so it was not covid. read more

So my boyfriend and I decided to do a little exploring while in the northwest. We made our way over to washing, and found this little gem. Everything that we ordered was good...especially the Dungeness crab melt! They have a great drink menu and I recomend trying the coconut margarita! We also had a few beers and some oyster shoots. Our sweet server Elsa even let us have our shot glasses for a souvenir when we were done! She was outstanding and gave Au's wonderful service! All in all I'd say we lucked out in our choice of restaurants in the area! We definitely picked the perfect spot for the afternoon! Our first meal in Long Beach... We were on a summer roadtrip and ended up in Long Beach to look at future retirement property - this was our first stop when we arrived as we were starving. A nice gentleman took our order. We did not eat at the restaurant however as we were expected elsewhere - after waiting a bit, we took our food and drove to a house and enjoyed it thoroughly. If I remember correctly, they have a pretty expansive menu and we look forward to trying more dishes out on future visits as well as maybe seeing a great game here.
