    Grease soaked quesadilla.
    Alex R.

Steak quesadilla was a greasy, fall apart mess! I shouldn't have to blot the food and the container before I eat it to get the grease literally dripping off of it away. Dropped the ball here!

Outside seating area... covered and heated in the winter. NE Greenwood Ave in the background.

This is the real deal. Food as fresh and authentic as the real deal demands. You won't find Los Jalapeños listed in a Best of Bend article (yet).... shhhhh! New heated outdoor area. Priced right. Seating and parking is limited. Owner and staff are golden. What are you waiting for??!!

    Pozole

I was totally surprised by the delicious pozole I found at Los Jalapeños "it totally ROCKED"! I had been dying for pozole or menudo for months but could not find what I was looking for anywhere in Bend. Maybe I didn't ask the right people. Finally while my daughter was visiting in town we met my son at Los Jalapeños and took a chance they might have it. Wow what an awesome surprise when they brought it out and we took our first taste! My son who is sometimes a skeptic about "good Mexican food" tried it...I loved the look of pure joy on his face after he took that first spoonful. We all have some Mexican heritage so we know good pozole and this hit all the marks for us. The only thing missing was the corn tortillas but as soon as we asked they were delivered. My dad made the best menudo back in the day and my grandmother made delicious pozole so I know how a "good pozole" should taste. They even have a good cup of coffee to go with it! We are three very happy pozole nerds and we will be back for more.

    Tiny chile verde burrito

Been going here since it opened in the 90s. The portions have shrunk so much I can't support this business any more.

Great service, amazing food, the outside patio is cute and cozy, shade for the summer and enclosed side for the winter with heaters. Jalapeño margarita is perfect! I've had amazing service here every time! I highly recommend!

Nice outdoor patio. We got the fajitas nachos. Goodies through and through. Great margaritas. We enjoyed this place. Also wait staff were very nice and accommodating.

Cheese enchilada - nice and goey. Chicken taco - OK. Too much cheese, lettuce, tomato. Rice n beans - good. Two varieties of hot sauce - decent. Bit of a dive. That's a good thing.

Visiting bend or just a local trying to find amazing Mexican food. This is the place, been going here 20 plus years and it's good every time and the service is friendly & fast. Haven't been in awhile since I moved and yesterday noticed they added some delicious drink options! Definitely recommend

    Al pastor tacos
    Erin M.

This was an average Mexican place. The tacos are small street size and the price does not reflect that. The menu showed $4.25 for each taco and he rang them up for $4.45 each. $4.45 for one taco is a bit much for fast food Mexican. The Al pastor lacked pineapple and I had to put salsa on the tacos to make them better. My child really liked his burrito though and I would return to try their taco salads. They have lots of bowl options that can meet most dietary needs. I gave them 3 stars for having a very flexible menu and lots of options for those who don't eat the regular American diet. They also have a nice outdoor eating space that you wouldn't really notice from the road.

Very tasty; great flavor; salsa great. Just can't see the taco.

We arrived around 230 on a Wednesday and were surprised how many people were coming and going. After our experience, we understand why. We got in the short, quick line and looked over the specials and menu while waiting. I ordered the heirloom salad (but got the macha salsa on the side because I'm wimpy) and the elote corn, both on the " very, very specials" board. Randy ordered the chicken tinga taco and the carnitas taco and an order of chips and salsa. Corina got the beef and broccoli which came with a side of Jasmine rice. Everything was delicious although Randy was missing a couple things: a spicier salsa and thinner chips. I thought they were fine but he is quite particular where chips and salsa are concerned. He enjoyed the tacos, loved that they were street tacos and thought the carnitas were a little more flavorful but both were good. My salad was fresh and flavorful, all the components (minus the spicy macha salsa) made it exactly what I was hoping for. The corn was buttery, creamy, flavorful. The best I've had. It's a whole piece of corn broken in half and slathered with all the goodness with some slaw, cotija and lime on the side. Corina's beef and broccoli was scrumptious. I don't normally enjoy that dish but this one was excellent. The meat was flavorful and not grisly and the broccoli was cooked perfectly, not mushy. It was a huge portion. After eating a piece of the corn, she's got beef broccoli leftovers. Randy also got a raspberry soda which was good, not super sweet, and Corina got the apple mint lemonade which was very good. Everyone was nice and helpful and the music was a good level, plenty of seating. Apparently some outside too. We absolutely are looking forward to going back. PS picture of the wallpaper in the bathroom just because I loved it.

They…read moremake everyone order before seating first, which in theory would make the wait time shorter but in practice this didn't work because the same guy taking orders was the guy bartending at the front. Needs one guy serving drinks and answering questions about the menu, and one person taking orders. The food was Chinese fusion with Mexican influences and we got mala noodles, 1 shrimp taco, and fried chicken. I'm Chinese and my husband is Mexican, so in theory this place would be right up our alley. However the shrimp taco's tortilla was not made fresh which is is the whole point of the taco (the salsa and the tortilla). The chicken was decent but not spectacular. The mala noodle was good on flavor (kudos for keeping the "ma" part intact) and probably the best part of the meal, but the rice noodle needs to be cooked 1-2 minutes less.

Loved that all the food is homemade including the tortillas. We ordered the carne asada and chipotle tacos along with an order of eloté. We could not have been more pleased. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating and we grabbed a table under a big tree. The menu offers some great selections. I was tempted to try the chilaquiles but tacos always get me. Carmen's Famous Tortilla Soup looked really tasty as well, so it looks like I have a reason to return. Alcohol including tequila is also served along with refreshing aqua frescos. Our food came out fairly quickly and it was hot and ready to eat. Tacos were juicy and the eloté although not the best I have ever had still provided good flavor. Location is easy to find although parking was tight. Perhaps it was the time of day we came and it was a weekend. Service was quick and efficient. Ambiance was perfectly beautiful sitting amongst the trees. I would recommend should you find yourself in Bend stopping here for a little bit of Mexico!
