Flavorful salsa and house made chips gets five stars from me but unfortunately I can't give them that rating. After the salsa and chips, I didn't expect much. The salsa was sweet rather than spicy, mostly tomato sauce. I ordered the appetizer platter sampler: taquitos, mini chimichanga, quesadilla with scoops of guacamole and sour cream. The meat in the taquitos was flavorless, completely. Chimis that small usually end up being mostly fried tortilla and these were. The quesadillas were fine. You can't really ruin quesadillas. The restaurant should be named "Por Los Gringos" because the food is not what I would call Mexican food but "Mexican style". read more

Past===I give them this one star because simply one I asked for 3three 4th of regular unsweetened tea and then finish it off by feeling the rest with the raspberry sweet tea, they did not do anything like that they gave me all raspberry sweet tea; just like as if it was an army panel. They also got missed a bunch of stuff that people asked for pacifically, so why would we have to keep on asking that's ridiculous they should've just got it the first time and wrote better notes; yet it's absolutely apartment, showing that they don't care about the little details; for not only did they mess up on the food and the drinks, they messed up on the wet floor sign. For the wet floor sign is so dirty that you can easily tell that's not clean ever, point being how can all restaurant wet floor sign be that dirty when it doesn't go outside And that by food place you eat at; so since they miss the little details and it shows through and through, because they don't even take down I'll last initial when you have a reservation, so when you ask them to verify what party it is they don't know because they don't have a last letter initial or anything I just have a first name and so if you were really were inquisitive and know it was kind of a surprise or whatever you know getting everyone1 to get to a place at one time, so there's always something that could be communicated better whatever sometimes....as in, This case. read more

This place is usually super busy during season, and it makes sense as to why. I have NEVER had such consistent, delicious, Mexican food from any other restaurant, ever. We ordered take-out yesterday because we like the food very much if it is hot. I scheduled a time, got a message that it is ready for pick-up 28 minutes before the scheduled time. My husband arrived 5 minutes before the scheduled time and picked it up not knowing that the food has been sitting there for at least 20 minutes and was cold already. We had to re-heat it because after the 5min ride to our house it was ice-cold. I tried to call them up but no-one, nobody was answering the phone nor was it possible to leave a message. It happened once before and we thought it is a onetime occurrence, but it seems to be 'normal' take-out food is sold cold. Be aware of that if you order take-out. Hot take-out food would have gotten 5 stars. Sloppy service at the restaurant another experience - I paid with a card and the bill was presented charged and no card was given back. Somebody saw it laying on the ground after observing it fell out of the folder and gave it back to me. The server didn't notice! read more

Their food is pretty run-of-the-mill Mexican cuisine. It's a large restaurant with different seating areas including bar, dining area and outdoor. The past three times I have been here in three months, we have had issues with waiting times for food and/or Mix-Ups with the order. I understand they get very slammed and are a little overwhelmed and are apologetic. I still recommend it for solid Mexican food but there's nothing extraordinary about it. read more

The people running it speak English well and know how to cooks and every time I've picked up food , very friendly . Wait time is approximately 15 minutes but it's worth it . We've been coming here for about 7 years and today was a disappointment. I had my usual taco salad and the shredded beef had a new and in my opinion not so good flavor. I informed the server and was told that there are new cooks in the kitchen. At this point there is usually an offer of compensation since I ate only about 1/3 of the plate. They offer a 10% discount for checking in on Yelp, I came to discover, too! That includes happy hour- I suggest using that & giving this joint a try because I will definitely be coming back. Totally impromptu at the last minute to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was just a party of 3 on a Sunday evening, but actually one of the better dinners I've had out, lately. Not too busy, so the service was good. They have your standard menu of Mexican cuisine- complimentary chips & salsa while perusing the menu & waiting for the main course. I just wish they would offer a "hot" salsa. We only got the bland, mild version. And didn't get a refill on chips, which was kind of a bummer. I do feel like our waitress could have been a little more attentive, but it isn't anything to nit pick because nothing was severely lacking or wrong. But is a glass of water not standard anymore? Our drink orders were promptly taken- but no water was offered at all, and that is a downfall in the desert! They do offer a full bar, so there is also no lack of options, should you request anything. The food, itself is your average, commercial Mexican fare, when it comes to the generic dishes you expect to find at any chain or restaurant. The standard, bland rice & beans come with most dishes, here. But, I had the chili rilleno meal, and I will say this is one of the much better rillenos I have had! They actually do make this one fresh- significant flavor & I was very impressed! Much better than the usual excuse that seems pulled from a freezer standard, elsewhere. It actually makes me want to try more of what they have to offer on the menu. Both friends got tacos, and neither complained. Neither really raved about them, but there was nothing left to request a to-go container! ...expect for the side of rice one ordered. Took a few bites & declined to take the remainder. I really wish some of these places would take the effort to put some flavor & spice into their rice & beans!! Both have the potential to be SO much better... but they always disappoint. So, its almost like it is a better idea to skip the "meals" and pay less by just ordering the main part of a meal dish al-la-carte! The bday girl got sopapillas for her birthday dessert, and those were really good! A generous portion of 6, topped w/ powdered sugar & a drizzle of honey. They were a little on the "heavy" side- but worth it. I made sure to present our waitress w/ the 10% off voucher for checking in on Yelp prior to her bringing the bill, and she was very appreciative I presented it PRIOR, so she didn't have to go back & adjust, reprint, etc. At first, she asked me to patiently wait for the manager to come approve it- I don't think she'd ever seen it before & wanted to make sure to cover her own butt- I don't blame her at all! And, she came back almost immediately without the manager saying it was no problem at all. Overall, this is a really nice place to go have a meal. The prices are your average, the food is not bad at all, and they seem to offer a lot! I loved the atmosphere & interior deco. Very bright, tasteful & comfortable layout that isn't too noisy or crowded. The staff are all friendly & accommodating. Chicken taco review ahead (always): First time here. Ordered a chicken taco a la carte. A brief mishap with the order and I received a ground beef. One bite and no. Server corrected this immediately. I think Los Gringos must have changed ownership as the food we ordered was not what we have had in the past, going back some 10 years. My wife ordered a Margarita and when delivered it was about 95% ice cubes, a small dash of Tequila topped off with water. The food was so-so. They skimped on the meat a bit. The place is under new ownership and not nearly as nice as it used to be. first of all, the prices jumped up over 30% on my favorite items. Secondly, they now have what I call a "JAIL" for smokers. Its a tiny place on the end of the patio behind a wrought iron door with just a chair to sit on. They used to accommodate us smokers with our own section so we could eat and enjoy our cigarettes, but no more. I realize that smoking is a big taboo nowadays, but I didn't think it would come to this, a smoker's jail. That's discriminating and demeaning! I would respect them more if they just put up a "No Smoking" sign. They also no longer have house well drinks and we have to pay a lot more for a small brand name drink. Yesterday, My husband, son and I were very excited to go try this place out.. but little did we know our experience was going to be ridiculously bad... So it started of when we walk in, no one greeted us. Plain and simple I had to go up to them and tell them we were 3 person. She said if I was so and so, and I said no we just walked in and she wrote our names down.. So, now we get seated in a pretty big booth, wasn't mad about that... but we sat down.. and we had to wait 20 minutes or so for chips and salsa. My husband asked the waiter if he could change his beer choice and she said I already put it in but ya... uhm ok? We order our food my sons food can first it was just chicken and French fries. But our food was HORRIBLE. It took maybe 30-40 minutes for our food to get to our table, our chips were cold because we didn't want to over eat on chips. Btw the waiter was Jaclyn. So she came offer us more drinks, said yes to that. Took 10-15 to bring us those. Finally our food came, she sat everything down and it looked pretty good. She was about to leave and she goes is there anything else you need and I said ya silverware and napkins... She never brought us silverware to begin with. I could not eat the food,I ordered the seafood enchiladas. My food was SO COLD that I couldn't eat it. My husband had the carne asada, and he was just eating it cause he was hungry. His tortillas were stiff cold. While eating he's like we're never spending a dime here again. And i agree. Jaclyn, the waitress was getting to all the customers that arrive wayyyyy after us. They had there meals already at the table and was going every 5 minutes to check on them while we waited ALMOST and hour for our food, and she wouldn't come and check up on us at all.
