I'm new to the Temecula wine scene and tried to find a kid friendly winery. Longshadow was perfect on a Saturday afternoon. They were friendly and wines were great. I especially loved mixing the white Chardonnay with the muscat. They called it "panty dropper" and it was very good. There is a large outside area where kids could run around with live music. The band was fantastic. You can bring a picnic with you. I really should have done that. They usually have a food truck (BBQ) but it didn't show up that day. Most likely due to the super bloom traffic. The kids got to see horses and goats and play on the small playground while adults enjoyed the music with wine. I really enjoyed the White Feather Chardonnay. It's refreshing and lightly sweet but perfect. They also have an awesome Belgian chocolate shaped boot you can get separately for ($5) , where they pour their Ponderosa Port. This makes for an awesome shooter. The chocolate is delicious and goes well with the Port. The port has been aged in 50 year old whiskey barrels and is pretty smooth. This winery is definitely a new favorite of mine! I absolutely love the atmosphere here and the country music they play. I'm a country girl at heart so this vineyard was everything I pictured. I loved the location and views. So beautiful to see horses, a sheep, and the cutest alpaca. I wish I could have had my wedding here haha!! The staff are friendly as well. If you like "rustic" as in falling apart then you'll dig this place. I hate to bash local businesses but I'm hoping this review will help to improve this place as I see it does have the potential to be great. We reserved a table by the children's playground one evening for my family of 6. The playground had an ant infestation (part of nature I know). I felt like they neglected to care for the facility in all aspects. Little kids were crying bc they were covered in ants. They market this winery as child friendly so in doing that you should actually make it so. There was a shady rope swing thing that was sort of shut down but looked like little ones were going to kill themselves using it. The horse fence was falling apart. The BBQ place was gross. Stale buns & cold meat. Sangria was not drinkable. We purchased a bottle of their most popular white - honestly we drank it bc we were having such a horrible time and Pelzter was too packed for an event. The wine was disgusting. We would have returned it but the only guy working was such a grump and a huge line was forming waiting their turn to order so we drank it and left. I'll never go back and unfortunately I've told my friends. This place needs friendlier staff, some renovations and better wine and food. read more

We have been trying to follow-up on when we should receive our wine, and were told to e-mail the owner. We have e-mailed 3 different times and to date no one has replied. I came here for a bachelorette party, so I didn't know what to expect since everything was already planned. There were a couple of beautiful horses outside of this winery, but since it was so hot, everyone stayed inside instead. The decor had a country feel to it and was very spacious. I only tried a sip of one of the wines (Estate cabernet sauvignon?) and was a bit disappointed that they didn't serve any type of food or snacks. A large group of us were visiting the area from out of town and spent one of our afternoons here. The location was stunning! Large area for sitting, live music to listen to, and a small petting zoo plus play structure for kids. We ordered 3 bottles of wine - the rose. Replying to my earlier review seeking my refund if $550 this winery had charged me without having a my authorization. I have not had a membership here since March of 2022 when I cancelled the membership due to moving. This owner finally replied after over a month of no response to emails or calls. He has only refunded 3 of the 5 charges and in his response told me that $550 is not really a lot of money and basically blamed me for being fraudulently charged by his establishment. Pretty horrible customer service and overall business. I would never join this winery. Please check your bank account if you have been a member in the past 5 or more years. He at no time apologized or accepted responsibility for charging me and has yet to respond with further resolving the dispute. What type of business responds blaming the guest that was charged in error? He should not be in business. So many other wineries in Temecula that demonstrate proper business etiquette. First time at this vineyard, the wines were ok and the service was okay as well, it could have felt more welcoming if the people working there would have given service with a smile. Disappointed that the main building was not open due to a venue, but it was nice to be outside under the shade of a tree and have my grandkids playing on the playground and petting the few animals that were there on the farm. We were wine club members before they even had the big tasting area, many a weekend spent with the kids movie night, bon-fire BBQ's, local music bands and just enjoying our Long shadow wines. Kids love the horses and the outdoors with fresh air I mean its great for families. As long time wine club members my hubby and I enjoyed the perks that came with being a member one of them was the variety of wines produced. Tempranillo and White Feather Chardonnay even the dessert Muscat. But the Port OMG. I used to buy it by the case in fact I still have a handful of bottles from over the years--that made the journey to NJ, I want to open at times but don't dare and usually wait for special occasions.. because that's one less bottle and the years I have (1998 and up), I doubt you can buy some of these years at Longshadow, but ask. But that 1998 AHHH-MAZING!!! (I opened one this past New Years) My hands down favorite the delicious Cab Fran Red (2005- and I have 6 bottles left) opened one Thanksgiving 2016--and they are aging very well and some 5 bottles of Tempranillo have also aged fabulously and when they are gone, I'll be crushed, literally. We are no longer wine club members since we relocated to NJ, but if you have not visited Long Shadow- by all means go read more

Here tonight for a dinner theatre experience at Long Shadow Winery. This is thier first endeavor for an event of this nature. Named the Wild West Legends. The cost was $20 for the show and a three course meal....salad, entrée of chicken, tri tip and Mac and cheese, and dessert. The evenings entertainment began with some dancing and singing by local youngsters. John Broderson, the winery owner acted and sang in the main musical. They had a great cast but the bartender stole the show with his one liners and improv. We really enjoyed it. Our libation for the night was a wonderful bottle of Tempernillo, smooth with a nice smokey finish. I usually bring carrots or apples for the clysdale horses but forgot them this time. Had a lot of fun and would recommend this winery and events. They are very kid friendly but unfortunately not dog friendly. read more

Longshadow Ranch Winery and tonight's dinner theater, Legends of the Wild West, is yet another reason why I love this wonderful city where I live. We have so many fun things to do, and all within minutes from where we live. Tonight we enjoyed a 3 course meal and show for $20 per person--really! Salad and roll, entree of chicken, trip tip, mac and cheese, and a brownie dessert. Portions were good enough and food was very good. We added a bottle of Longshadow Tempranillo, and we setttled in for the show. The pre-show entertainment were cute, cute kids from All Thst Jazz, a local performance dance center. John Brodersen, the winery owner, put together a very funny and entertaining show. Many of the performers including John were in Legally Blonde at Old Town Community Theater. Ah ha! No wonder I enjoyed the show so much! Okay, don't expect anything close to a Tony award winning production. These are local performers and though very talented, mishaps happen. Just to keep in mind should you be so inclined to make a long drive out to Temecula. A definite needed improvement is to the sound system. Great spot for wine tasting. Modern rock music on the sound system, very few snobs who want to show how much they know about wine, but more down to earth folks, and cool regular locals. The Clydesdale horses out front are too cool, but the friendly one is the female June on the side of the ranch house. She's a ham for the camera, and likes to be petted by Kids. Christina was our barmaid and was awesome, funny, personal and knowledgeable about all the wines. Not surprising since they only have the few they make there... as it is a winery after all. But she was much more fun than any of the other barmaids during the trip. My favorite was the estate Malbec. But we also had the boot shooters which is a little tiny chocolate boot with port inside. I was first introduced to this winery thanks to Vineyard limousine and party bus who we hired to drive us around for my mom's 75th birthday. This was the third stop for our day and it turns out to be the most delicious stop because not only did they offer great wine but they had a delicious barbecue. The thing I loved about this winery is that it really is family-friendly in that It has animals like horses and goats, it has a snack bar for the kids, it has a dance floor with a great band and it even had a mechanical bull on the night that we were there. So the two kids in our group ages 14 and seven both had a lot of fun exploring the grounds. The night that we were there, I believe there was a wedding, there was our birthday party, there may have been a dance going on for school, but because they have so many different zones and buildings and they did such a great job of segmenting all of the events nobody felt overcrowded and nobody felt like anybody was barging into their event. The food was delicious. A well-rounded meal with roasted chicken, corn and mashed potatoes +2 bottles of wine per table so we got four bottles total. We also brought a cake but they also had a general store where you could buy things in addition to that little snack bar. The only downside is that there was only two bathrooms available (because the others were inside the building with the school dance or whatever private event) so there was a little bit of a line. Still, I would highly recommend this spot for families and highly recommend the limo company I mentioned above because they purchased everything in advance for us so there was no waiting in line and they were parked super convenient so when we were done it was just a short walk to the van. #VisitTemecula #TemeculaWineCountry #MakesMeWander read more

Cool place to go to if you have little kiddos since there's a small play area for them but unfortunately this was our second time back and we felt the same way both times, which is that workers are quite rude and unwelcoming.
