They quoted a fair price to begin with but they found that it was simply a hose had been damaged by rodents. They replaced the hose no charge for Dad. Horrible customer service from Sara! DO NOT GO HERE, LADY WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE! I came in looking for a smog check when she vaguely acknowledged us and advised us that it's a separate business nextdoor and they don't open for another 20 minutes. I went back to my car to wait. I understand it may be her job to advise customers when they park in the wrong spots but this woman was so unprofessional and dismissive in her approach. I would have appreciated her talking to me like a human rather than barking orders in my window with no eye contact and disappearing before I even have the chance to acknowledge the situation. We were trying to piece together what she wanted (not even two minutes passed). This lady has nothing better to do apparently so she felt it was necessary to come up to my car AGAIN and even banged on my car rushing me to park somewhere else. I explained to her that it was my first time and asked her to be patient while pointing out how there is literally NOBODY ELSE in the parking lot and I wasn't blocking anybody. Moved to the area over a year ago and have been trying to find a new mechanic. Happy my wife and I came across longs automotive. Its hard to find a trustworthy and honest mechanic these days. Brad and his team are always transparent with the work they're doing. Last year my wife and I were moving from the mid west back to California. We only had our suv about two years at that point and couldn't find the paperwork from the previous owner to confirm if they had done a timing belt service or not. Once we officially moved back to California we took our SUV to Longs to get this service done. To our surprise Brad called and informed us that he was able to verify the timing belt had already been replaced and was not required. (Through all the chaos I guess I did it in Oklahoma when we initially moved there) This could have easily been a $1000+ job to someone who may not be so honest. All we needed was an oil change and we were on our way. Defnitley have found our new mechanic in riverside. Highly recommend and will be taking all our cars here. I've been bringing my cars to Brad Long for close to twenty years. He was good twenty years ago and is even better today. I brought my 4runner in thinking I had a major issue. Thought she was a lost cause. Brad and his team had my truck fixed running good as new in two days and it's running better then ever. After trying several mechanics in the area, I've settled on Long's Automotive. They are professional and honest, which is hard to find in this industry. I just got my car back yesterday and it needed a new radiator, battery terminal, alternator, tune up and oil change. I had gotten an alternator a year ago from Long's and they honored their two-year warranty, so I didn't have to pay for this one, which made the bill much nicer and I didn't get the runaround about it at all. My car is 26 years old and I love it, but it's hard to find parts for now. The battery terminal for my Mitsubishi Eclipse no longer exists, so they ordered a new one from a Lexus dealership because it was a match that would work well with mine. That might have been the issue causing my alternator to fail, so it was really great they honored the warranty for another rebuilt one. The total for everything yesterday was $580, and I didn't have to pay for the alternator (even labor), so I can't tell you how happy I am. I recommend this auto shop based on my own experience over the last couple years. I did go to the old address on Bradley Rd in Menifee at first and found they moved to a new, larger shop off Ethanac Rd, by the way. Update on 10/19/2016 I HAD to tell people what just happened to me. I went to a smog test place and they told me I needed a rebuilt engine for almost $5,000 because my car was blowing blue smoke out of the tailpipe at AES in Menifee. I took it to Brad at Long's and there was zero blue smoke and it cost me $100 and my car passed with FLYING colors!!! The other place's test said I was a gross polluter and I went 7 miles up the road and passed 100% with no work needed at all. HOW does that happen? Brad, you are AWESOME! And now that I know you do smog testing, I won't need to go anywhere else! You just saved me $5,000!!! read more

I took my car in for shaking and turning noises and hitting hard over dips, turned out to be motor mounts and transmission mount replacement. Long's has taken over the Chaney's automotive location on Ethanac and I could not be more pleased. I have dealt with Chaney's for years and was more than satisfied with their service. I called to make an appointment and found out that the business was now Long's Automotive. I hate change but still went ahead and made an appointment. I explained that the serpentine belt on my 2006 Tundra needed to be changed. I was given an estimate over the phone which seemed reasonable so I confirmed my appointment. The day before my appointment Long's called to confirm my appointment time. I showed up at my appointed time and explained that I would have to wait while the belt was changed. 45 minutes later I was on my way and the price matched my estimate. We took our 1996 Dodge Diesel Truck here to have a hole fixed in the gas tank fill line. Not only did Adam fix this at a very reasonable price, he also diagnosed our starter problem. He had printed out a copy of the needed part and provided us with two estimates to fix it. One was if they bought the part, and one was if WE provided the part. Of course we were thrilled to be able to provide the part as it saved us a TON of money! We were so happy with the repairs and customer service here, that we recommended both our daughters to this shop! Our one daughter has already brought her Jeep in and was given EXCELLENT customer service! It's not every day you find an automotive shop you can trust, but this place is a gem! read more

I want to thank these guys for their amazing service. It is very scary to go to a car repair place and just wait in the room to hear the quote they come out with or what other issues they found, etc. From the start I submitted at least 18 quote request to see why our door would not unlock on our 2012 Kia soul. 15 of the responses all told me they were not sure and it would be at least $90 just to check it out. The others suggested taking it to a dealer. Brad is the only one who suggested what it may be, offered to look at and diagnose for FREE and give me a quote. We went back and te first time he said it would be LESS than he quoted me to fix! LESS??? Unfortunately, the issue turned out to be something only a dealer could resolve due to some programming or something but this is the kicker... They had my car for a few hours and charged me $0.00. NOTHING? They told me what was wrong after diagnosing the issue after working on it for hours and then charged me $0.00. NOT many places are this honest and there to help the customer and not charge for everything. Thank you Brad and the gentleman that worked all day trying to get to the issue. You now have a customer for life and I have been referring many others your way. My family and I have gotten our cars serviced here and have been very pleased with the services. This past time, I had to leave a message as after several calls to make an appointment, no one answered the phone. No problem, they must have been busy. I received a call back the next day and was able to make my appointment for the following week. I called on a Monday in the a.m. hoping to get in by the end of the week but business happens. When I spoke to the receptionist I made it clear that my car needed the 60,000 mile service and asked what that would entail. The receptionist told me to check my owners manual! I found this to be rude as I'm taking my car to a mechanic because I rely on them for my car needs. I could be better informed by reading my manual yes however I chose Long's automotive because of their good reviews specifically about honesty and getting good service. I wouldn't have too much of a clue what I was reading in my cars owner manual anyway and would prob have more questions instead! I Should have said no thank you and taken my car else where but because of the previous good experiences I decided to stick with it. When I dropped my car off at 8:30 I again mentioned the 60,000 mile service that was needed and was told by this same receptionist that I would most likely need my transmission fluids changed. Great! She didn't hassle me about my owners manual. 4.5 hours later she calls to tell me my car is ready for pick up that all they did in this 4.5 hours was change my oil!! 4.5 hours to change my oil?! She did mention as well that I did indeed need my transmission serviced as talked about when I dropped my car off. I got this message on a voicemail and when I tried calling back, surprise... voicemail. Most people when getting their car serviced need to make arrangements as not having a car for almost 5 hours leaves most people in a jam. Now Im looking at another appointment, being without my car again for who knows how long, and need to make additional arrangements for someone to be available to drive me around. We have lives!! Responsibilities!!! Not sitting at a desk being rude and incompetent! The receptionist mentioned they couldn't service my transmission because they didn't have the fluid for it on hand. I drive a Honda CRV, not a Lamborghini. Really a mechanic shop doesn't carry transmission fluids for a common car? Ok wasn't 4.5 hours enough time to get said fluid? During my wait for my car, another mechanic came in to ask her if she could try ordering parts for another customer who had just brought their car in. She literally rolled her eyes and had the total body language of yeah that would require work on my part not going to happen. We will not be returning. read more
