He also explained that I would receive pictures from the inspection, which I really appreciated. The inspection cost $250 and took about 2 hours. Afterward, I received both a text and email with the inspection results and recommendations. Rene also shared that he regularly partners with local shops for car inquiries and refers customers to specialists when needed, which showed me that they care about getting people the right help. The front entrance has a smaller waiting area with movies playing, which made the wait more comfortable. One helpful note for first-time visitors: when entering the lot, the main entrance is to the left rather than straight ahead. I accidentally drove toward the back at first, but someone from the smog shop next door kindly redirected me. Overall, the experience was great. It is worth noting they do offer financing, which I thought was incredible because ultimately nothing is more important than one's safety and money shouldn't be a factor in stopping one from being able to have a vehicle which is safe. I really appreciated how Danny had her break pads and rotors out for us to see when we picked up her car. I don't know if they do this for every vehicle but they did it for my mom, they washed and vacuumed her car. It is little things like this which show they want to earn your business. I was told, "Yes, no problem," and was quoted for labor only. So I ordered the part, received it, and called back to schedule the appointment. Everything went smoothly until I was transferred to the on-site manager. He informed me that corporate policy prohibits installing customer-supplied parts. That would have been perfectly understandable; had someone told me that before I spent the money and booked the appointment. Instead of acknowledging that his staff may have given me incorrect information, he insisted I must have called another location and then accused me of lying. Apparently, customer service here includes rewriting your conversation and insulting you when their employees make a mistake. Policies can be misunderstood. Mistakes happen. Calling a customer a liar rather than taking 30 seconds to investigate is a management failure, and a spectacular way to lose someone's trust. If this is how the manager handles a simple phone conversation, I certainly wouldn't trust him to handle my car. I recommend taking your vehicle, and your dignity, somewhere else.

They looked it over and called me and said they were declining to work on it because it had over 10 codes on the OBP scan, they had to jump start it from the parking lot (news to me) and could barely drive it into the bay. I called around looking for someone who would be willing to work on it and right away. One call was to Mario, who had a mobile service. I wasn't sure about the mobile thing as opposed to a brick and mortar garage but was willing to roll the dice because he had an opening the following morning. He was running behind due and I considered going to a local shop because I thought he might not be able to get to me and I needed it done that day and couldn't put it off. However, I just had a good feeling about him, and because of our phone conversation he really demonstrated a lot of knowledge about my vehicle. I decided to wait it out and have faith in him, and it really paid off. Not only is my truck purring like a kitten again but his cost came under what the shops were charging. In fact, I couldn't even get a firm quote from other people- they were leaving the door open that the price could go up depending on what they encountered and were also talking about $200ish diagnostic fees in addition to the repair cost before the work was done. I'm gonna be calling this guy, and I'm gonna keep his ass busy. I had a trusted mechanic for over 20 years who passed away, and so I was a free agent looking for another good guy.
