Longhorn, the delicious chain restaurant that's been in Gainesville for YEARS! Well, we went in for lunch today, Valentine's Day, and I can honestly say it was the best visit over ever had here. Our waiter, Chance made this the best experience not only for myself but for my two children. They were so excited that they were asked questions about what they wanted. And as they got off topic, he wasn't annoyed like most people would be, he engaged with them and made them feel important. Thank you thank you for being so wonderful

We came here to celebrate Jacob's promotion and sat at the bar. The chairs were spaced out for social distancing and the Bartender was funny and very attentive. Great food & appetizers. We will be back. Awesome experience.

She reminded me of an airline hostess with her hair perfectly coiffed and her uniform perfectly pressed. So we were impressed from then on. The tables were tastefully designed. The ladies were given handbag stools so their purses wouldn't touch the floor. WOW. That was a first for me! We ordered something we had had before but was not on the evening menu. We asked and they delivered exactly as requested. There were 4 people in our party and there were no issues or complaints all evening. Only complements. That's rare. We enjoyed the server and owner's pleasantries . We will be going back soon. I give Luna's 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend it to you wholeheartedl. By the way, diners sat at every table. I'd recommend making reservations!

This is a review for the Easter brunch only…read more I'm sure my grandparents would've loved this place if they were still around. You got your white tablecloths, rooms full of retirees, and a vibe that hasn't changed much since the Reagan administration. Unfortunately, there was none of that live music that this place is known for. My family and I came for the Easter brunch buffet @ $55/person. The menu looked great: herb crusted prime rib at the carving station, shrimp and grits, Belgian waffles, deviled eggs, bourbon glazed carrots, cheesecake dessert squares. But the reality was that it's more like an upscale hotel breakfast. Safe, mostly bland, and probably exactly what the "usual" crowd there was looking for. The bacon was overcooked and shriveled. The deviled eggs didn't even have any paprika. And who puts a giant vat of syrup BEFORE the waffles? And their signature strawberry punch would've tasted way better chilled or iced instead of being kept at room temperature. The prime rib was what made it all worth it. It was tender, juicy, cooked just right, and the horseradish took care of their seasoning problem. That carving station is what saves the day along with the fantastic staff. Even the manager was great to talk to. I just wish the rest of the food was better than "meh." A couple of tips: call for reservations, there's no online booking. Parking is annoying because of the app. If you don't have a walker, just use the giant free public lot one block over on Main Street. Also, the "Order" button on their website goes nowhere. Maybe just replace it with "Menu," Luna. Looks like Mother's Day is getting the breakfast buffet brunch encore, so if you want to experience what I did, go for it. I probably won't be back even though the regular menu looks interesting.

If I could, I would give Cotto 6 stars. Located in the historic square in Gainesville, GA, Cotto…read moreModern Italian restaurant was one of the best dinners we've had in a long time. Compared to south Florida's cost of living, the pricing is surprisingly inexpensive for the quality and service. We brought our standard poodle with us, since we were on vacation. We enjoyed their outdoor seating, which was spacious and relaxing. We were welcomed and really made to feel at home. For my south Florida friends, if you are passing through north Georgia, Cotto's should definitely be on your itinerary.

I'm genuinely sad to be writing this because Cotto used to be one of my favorite places. I went…read morealmost weekly, recommended it constantly to friends, and have even left great reviews in the past. Unfortunately, since the menu changed, it just hasn't been the same. The food used to have so much depth and flavor. There was a salad I absolutely loved, and the pizzas used to have a great crust with really thoughtful, robust flavor combinations. Now, the salads taste like something I could easily make at home, and the last few pizzas I've ordered have been floppy, with the toppings practically falling off and none of the flavors really coming together. Last night was especially disappointing. I actually suggested Cotto for my friend's birthday because I remembered it as a place with a great atmosphere, hospitality, drinks, and even better food. We made a reservation for eight people, and her husband let the staff know we were celebrating her birthday. Her pasta came out and she thought it was fine, although nothing particularly memorable. She offered me a bite, and somehow the bite she gave me contained a bread twist tie. I literally had metal, paper, and ink in my mouth. Finding something like that mixed into a pasta dish was incredibly concerning. They did comp her meal and offered desserts, which we appreciated. Since we were out celebrating and drinking rather than looking for dessert, we asked whether they could do birthday shots or something similar instead. They declined, which is their prerogative, but then nothing else was offered and the birthday itself was never acknowledged. Between the reservation being for a birthday, the foreign object in her food, and the overall experience, it felt like multiple opportunities to make things right were missed. I really wanted to continue loving this place, especially because I remember how good it used to be. But after several disappointing experiences recently, I don't think I can keep recommending it the way I once did. If I'm going to pay these prices for a night out, I expect the quality and attention to detail that Cotto used to have. I truly hope they find their way back to what made this place so special, because I miss the Cotto I used to look forward to visiting every week.

Absolutely the best steak I've ever had. Great mixed drinks, wonderful side dishes and fantastic desert. The service was also spot on. I've traveled widely for business and eaten in top restaurants from Australia to Europe. Scott's competes with the best of them.

I really had high hopes for this one. It was our anniversary and we love trying new places. I've…read moreseen posts everywhere that they just renovated, but I can't find what looked new. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The restaurant didn't have many people when we arrived. There was 1 couple at a small table and a party in a "private" room. We were seated directly in-between both of these. Didn't make for a romantic anniversary dinner with the older couple coughing, sniffling and making sucking noises. (I'm thinking they had something in their teeth and they kept trying to remove it?) Then the party in the room was loud and the doors to the party room were left open. With the restaurant so empty, I don't know why we weren't seated somewhere more private. Drinks were pretty good. My husband was told the wine he first ordered was out. He liked the second choice he made, once it finally arrived. There was a wait to receive everything we ordered. Drinks took forever. Our poor server was trying. I saw him WAITING at the bar for the bartender to finally pour our drinks. Food - Calamari was pretty good. It is a very small portion, but enough for an appetizer for 2 people. I really wanted the sea bass, but I didn't want it with the veggies that were supposed to come with it. I asked if they could substitute for brussel sprouts and sauteed spinach. Our server wasn't sure so he asked if I'd still like it if they can't. I told him if they wouldn't substitute, then I'll have the salmon with those sides. My dinner arrived and it was the salmon. They would rather me pay for a less expensive meal than substitute sides for the more expensive meal. I find that odd. My husband ordered the scallops. They were cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, his risotto and asparagus were ice cold. He had to send it back. (That's not something he normally does, so I know it was bad.) My food wasn't piping hot, but it wasn't cold either. It at least tasted good. They kept apologizing for the wait, and offered my husband a free glass of wine. He accepted and they brought the carafe over with it and poured it into what he still had left. It wasn't the same wine! They now mixed 2 completely different wines and my husband said it tasted funny. He didn't even finish it. There was nothing offered to celebrate our anniversary. Everywhere else we've been offers you a free dessert. Nope. Not here. Dessert was offered, but not for free. We declined and said we were full. It was also almost 2 hours of being here and we were done. This experience does not make us want to return or recommend to anyone else. The kitchen obviously has some work to do to fix things, along with the bar and management. Thank you to our server for trying to make it a good experience for us.

My wife and I have lived in Gainesville for over six years, and we have probably driven past…read moreQuillians Grill & Catering Co. hundreds of times on our way toward Cleveland. Every time we'd say, "One day we need to stop there." Well, we finally did, and we were so glad we did! For some reason, we always assumed this was mainly a steakhouse. It's definitely not. They have a big menu with plenty of different choices, plus daily specials that give you even more options. We started with the buffalo chicken tender bites with ranch. These were some of the most tender and juicy chicken tenders I've had. The buffalo sauce had a little kick without being overly spicy. My wife thought it had a little too much vinegar flavor, but I personally really enjoyed it, especially dipped in the ranch. Either way, that plate disappeared quickly. We also tried the fried ravioli. We order fried ravioli fairly often, and one of my complaints at some restaurants is that you get a lot of fried dough and very little filling. Not here. These actually had a good amount of cheese filling inside, and they were great dipped in the marinara sauce. For my meal, I ordered the prime rib cooked medium with cheese grits and mac & cheese. It also came with a roll and au jus. The prime rib was excellent. One of the things I really appreciated was how much actual meat I got. I've ordered prime rib at other places where a huge portion ends up being fat. This one had a little fat, of course, but most of that big piece was delicious, tender meat. I poured the au jus all over it and went to work. The cheese grits and mac & cheese were both great sides as well. My wife ordered the chicken and dressing platter with squash and potato salad, along with cornbread. It was a big plate of classic comfort food and she really enjoyed it. Then came dessert. My wife ordered the chocolate chip pumpkin cheesecake, and I ordered the lemon curd cheesecake. When I say that lemon curd cheesecake was one of the best cheesecakes I've had, I'm not exaggerating. It was fantastic. The lemon curd on top paired perfectly with the cheesecake. We also got to meet the owner, Denise, who was walking around checking on everyone. When she found out it was our first visit, she was genuinely excited to hear what we thought and made sure we had everything we needed. While talking about how good the desserts were, she told us that her daughter is behind all of the baked goodies up front. They had cheesecakes, cakes, brownies, cobblers, cookies and all kinds of other desserts that looked amazing. That's going to be dangerous on future visits! Our waitress, Olivia, was awesome as well. She was friendly, kept our drinks filled and checked on us throughout the meal without overdoing it. Great service from beginning to end, and plenty of Coca-Cola refills! The restaurant itself is much larger than it looks from the road. There are two indoor seating areas with comfortable tables and chairs, plus a very large outdoor patio. The inside has an older, rustic feel with lots of wood and darker lighting, which fits the building well. Good food, big portions, fair prices and a genuinely friendly team. After driving past Quillians for more than six years saying we'd eventually stop, we've officially corrected that mistake. Now we need to come back and start working our way through those daily specials. Definitely a GO for us, and we'll be back!

Food was great, service great ad well. They have amazing desserts. Very nice environment.read more
