We came to this location a little past 11am this morning wanting to order LJS but were told it'd be 30 minutes before it'd be ready so we said fine we'll wait... 30 minutes later and then was told it'd be closer to noon... narrator: it wouldn't be ready at noon I'm betting. This has been the 2nd time within this year we've been to this location and no fish was ready or available. Seriously, they should just discontinue the LJS and stick to TB. Won't be back, won't recommend. Absolutely atrocious this happens and the communication or lack thereof at this location. read more

I stopped there about a month ago. Because I have to use a walker, I went to the drive-in window. I ordered a full fish meal. I thought the price was high, but that was okay. I drove around the building to eat in my car. The fish was warm, with grease running off. The waffle fries were cold, greasy, and "soggy". No condiments, no napkins, etc. There were no outdoor trash cans, so I went to the window and asked the girl to throw the box away. Except for a bite or two, the box was full. I did NOT ask for money back. She was so rude and refused to do as I asked. I drove to the front, got my walker out and went inside to throw the box away. I asked for the manager and was told the girl at the counter was the "floor manager". I asked her to throw it away, and she refused. I explained to her I didn't want money back, but the food was not edible. A younger, very big man jumped up from a table and told me to shut up and don't talk to her like that. I tried to explain (turns out he was the manager). I left because he was screaming at me and coming toward me. I'm 79 years old and obviously crippled. I was afraid he was going to hit me. There were only two customers in the restaurant (I understand why). I have eaten in LJS restaurants many times, and never had a complaint. I should have called the police, but then he'd have my address and I live alone. The food was cold, but the employees were not only rude, but threatening. As far as fast food restaurants go, Long John Silver's is one of the best. To amplify, I ordered the fried fish with hush puppies and fried shrimp. I immediately tried the hush puppies and they were pleasing and delicious. The hush puppies were crunchy on the outside and fluffy and moist on the inside. Following, I tasted the fried shrimp and it was solid. To explain, the coating was crispy and flavorful while the shrimp was tender. It tasted a lot better than usual fast food shrimp. After this, I gave the french fries a try and they were average. The fries were crispy, but a bit bland and flavorless. Finally, I was ready for the fried fish. Now, this fish is greasy and unhealthy, but it is absolutely scrumptious. The coating is crumbly and extremely crispy. In addition, the coating is unbelievably flavorful and it had great sapidity. Likewise, the fish itself was juicy, moist, and tasted much better than I expected. In the final analysis, Long John Silver's is one of my favorite fast food restaurants and has really tasty fried fish. read more

The service was terrible. Waited 40 minutes for food to dine in. Ten minutes just for someone to come to counter to take my order. 20 customers walked out due to wait time. The employee where chat and having a grand time, while people where waiting for there food. The drive thru orders where going out along mobile orders. Five minute wait for someone to get me tarter sauce after they acknowledged that I asked for it. What a JOKE is all I can say. Service and cleanliness are completely unacceptable. There was no one at the front counter for at least two minutes. When I finally was able to place my order, it took another 15 minutes to get my food. Every single table in the dining table was dirty and covered with trash. Filthy is too kind. The bins for condiments were mainly empty. Maybe the drive-through experience is acceptable. I will never eat inside again. read more

What happened to LJS? The fish pieces were so thin that there was hardly any fish in them. I've been eating their fish for decades and never had one this thin. Also smaller than before. Customer service and food quality. Change your grease more often. You can tell the grease hadn't been changed in awhile and when I asked if they could cook me two new pieces of chicken they told me no. I even offered to wait while they cooked and they said no. read more

Normally, I do not go out of my way to give a bad review. Every business can have a bad day. But LJS had been consistent. During COVID the drive through was open and 4 out of 4 times the order was messed up, requiring another trip around the drive through to correct. When the facility reopened and LJS menu items were ordered they would be out of product. Today was the last straw. Ordered a two piece fish. Husband ordered three piece fish and was told there was no more fish. I offered to change my order to Taco Bell item so husband could have the fish. He asked to add chicken. They were out of chicken. What's left hush puppies and fries? As I read in other reviews, they had no cook; and it was only 2 pm. It should just be a Taco Bell. read more

We went in on 8/11/24. This place was disgusting! I had to ask for a cloth to wipe the table off. We decided to stay and eat anyhow thinking that everyone is short staffed and they are doing the best they can. When we opened our food, the grease was literally pooled all over the fish, the waffle fries were still partially frozen and when I took it back, the gentleman said "I don't know what to tell you" this prompted several others in line to walk out. Customer Service is terrible! The dining room doors were open at 8:40pm and I waited over 5 minutes for a staff member to tell me the lobby was closed, and I had to go through the drive-thru. I joined the drive-thru line and got to place my order at 9:03pm. That employee told me that Long John Silver's was closed and they only had Taco Bell food now. I did not want Taco Bell food and I was trapped by curbs and unable to leave the drive-thru area, so I had to continue to wait to leave. In total it took me over 45 minutes of waiting to not get any food. When I finally got to the pick-up window the staff there told me they are not allowed to close the lobby or put signs up telling potential customers of the situation, and didn't seem to care at all about how they are affecting potential customers. They said they are owned and operated by Hospitality Syracuse but wouldn't share that company's contact information with me. They are slow as hell and for the price I payed for the chicken meal you would think you would get more then two tiny piece of chicken and maybe a half a handful of fries if you're lucky. I never leave reviews, but created this account because this restaurant has the most abysmal service in addition to not having a cook for LJS, and when they do, they don't have any chicken or fish! If I could leave 0 stars I would. I pulled into this location which is also a Taco Bell, because I had a craving for Long John Silvers. It was a Saturday evening (26 June) just after 1800h and there was a queue all the way out to the main road. It would have been a 30 minute plus wait. I pulled into a space and went to the door, the sign states lobby service until 2000h. I was turned away by LJS employees who were on a break, stating that there are no lobby hours today due to lack of staff. I said, great, well a sign would have been nice updating the hours. No reply. I returned to the car and pulled into the queue. I waited 25 minutes and finally arrived at the speaker to order. I greeted the voice and proceeded to order an L2, to be told, "we don't have LJS tonight". So after waiting all this time, and now stuck in the queue, with no way to get out of, or around the other cars ahead of me, I queried as to why there was no LJS available. I stated to the person behind the speaker, that as the restaurant couldn't bother to put up a change in lobby hours, why couldn't they bother to put up a sign letting people know LJS was not being served before wasting 40 minutes in a drive through one can not escape once in, unless I drive over the grass etc. I was told its corporate policy to not put up signs and again they were sorry they didn't have any LJS available but they have Taco Bell. I did not want Taco Bell, this is why I ordered LJS. I said I do not want anything, but a way to leave the queue, which as there was no way to leave, forced me to wait an extra 12 minutes to pull up to the window. When I pulled up to the window I was told an amount and I replied I was not there to pay as they did not have any food I wanted, but I did wat the name and number of the Manager or regional Manager so that I could let them know what the issue was. I was told that there was an Assistant Manager, named Maggie, who could help me. Maggie came to the window and spoke with me. She was really lovely and apologetic and confirmed that it was corporate policy not to put up signage. She also apologised that she did not have a cook in the store to make LJS and to come back another time and to see her. I thanked her and stated that as a consumer, I have choices and I choose to go to LJS when (not often) I have a craving for fish or chicken and chips. As a consumer, it was very unfair to me and the experience I had was just not right. LJS wasted my time and literally let me go hungry. Maggie stated that if I came back tomorrow (Sunday - she is in at 11) then I could order LJS and not to worry about it due to the inconvenience. It was a very nice gesture and great that she was looking out for me, however I do not schedule my day or travels around fast food. I did not visit this store on Sunday 27 June, regardless if it was free or not. I do not need anything for free, but the gesture was kind. On Wednesday 30 June I had a few moments and was driving by the area anyway, so pulled in just before the main lunch rush where I only waited 5 minutes to place an order for LJS chicken (L2) only to be told that they didn't have any chicken. REALLY? I queried as to why and di not receive a sufficient answer, however I was offered Taco Bell, as if that was tempting. No, I came to LJS for LJS. I pulled to the window and asked if Maggie was in, I was told she wasn't but would be in around 1530h that afternoon. I proceeded to tell the woman about the issue experienced on Saturday 26 June and now they don't have chicken. I decided to ring the store the next morning about 1100h but there was no answer. This evening (6 July) I decided to pull into LJS for an L2 - you know.. the chicken. I waited 10 minutes, got to the speaker and was told they don't have chicken, all they have is shrimp for LJS and I would have to have exact change only. So now let me get this straight. The THIRD time I come to the store, the THIRD time I can not get chicken and then the store can not even make change??!! What exactly is the issue here? You guessed it, stuck in the queue.. cant back out. So I pull forward to the window and ask for a manager, who proceeds to tell me that everyone is handing in their 2-week notices and a new LJS cook is training, but he cant work evenings or something... I don't know anymore... I was so angry. The manager was really nice and of course we have all heard the excuses before about Covid and not being able to hire enough people and blah blah blah, but from a customer/consumer point of view - 3 strikes and you are out! I WILL NOT return to this store, and WILL NOT bring my business to LJS again. How a restaurant offers a menu they cant serve because A - they don't have them, and B - there is no one to cook. If i could leave a zero star rating i would. So me and my buddy decided to go to long john silver's because all of the restaurants we talked about going to were closed. When we got there we were already being greeted with attitude. Then after we ordered, we got our drinks, half of the fountain drinks were just water because they were out of the drinks, six minutes later when we finally got our food it was over cooked and very greasy. I used to adore LJS's fish and chips and chicken. But my last experience was nothing short of GROSS. Filthy food prep area, dirty dining area. No napkins--and when I asked for some the clueless counter guy told me where they were, so they didn't even bother to fill the napkin holders--I used to work in food service, cleanliness is #1 and filling napkin dispensers isn't that difficult or time consuming. My food was extremely greasy, as well. and short one item. Overall, just pathetic. The owner or manger seriously needs to quit the food service business and go find another damned job. It is what it is, a fastfood restaurant. So my review will be written with that in mind. The day we went the restaurant was very clean along with the restroom. The manager in training was over the top friendly. The food was the same as always, a good fast food value. The fish has gotten a lot thinner. They now offer a thicker cut of fish for a dollar more. I don't agree with this. Bring back a decent piece of fish instead of offering the old size for more money. Other than the thin fish, hushpuppy's fries, and shrimp were all good. read more

It amazes me that the Queensbury LJS can even honor a gift card. The card had a hard time scanning, which had $11.00 on it and the evening manager basically told us too bad we aren't a full franchise so we wouldn't honor it. This is the only Long John Silver's in the area now. All the ones in Albany and surrounding are gone. So when I am in the Queensbury area, I have to make a stop! I love getting the family packs of chicken. I will freeze them and save them for later and put them on my salad and stuff! read more
