Great ! I had it 2 days back to back and it was amazing! I had it door dashed to my hotel and I miss not having one in my city anymore.

The vibe is definitely English pub, but the expansive outdoor patio makes you feel like you're still in Texas. We stayed for a quite a while to watch several of the World Cup games. I had fish and chips and ordered a beer. The fish and chips were amazing: the fish particularly was fried and seasoned so well. I could've easily eaten another portion. I truly did not expect it to be as good as it was, especially as most of my fish and chip experiences in the US have left me wanting more. This was perfect! Service was surprisingly fast despite how busy the bar was. We had no issues finding seating outside and then moved indoors once space cleared out. Our server was super accommodating and even hooked us up with a table near the larger TV once that party cleared out. Another bonus is that this location has a huge, free parking garage, so super convenient if you don't want to take the DART.

Dark, moody, wooden tables and chairs, a bit grungy. The service was great and the food was excellent. We had the fish and chips and the bangers and mash. Both were large portions. The fish was crispy and tender on the inside. Flaky and flavorful. The bangers were juicy and the mash was creamy. I truly feel you can't go wrong with either of these dishes here. The pub is on the second floor across the way from urban outfitters in case you are having trouble finding it. Overall a great pub to chill and have a straight forward hearty meal.

Food is amazing, best veggie burger in town, the lentil soup is perfect! Recently tried the chicken sliders (too damn delicious) to try something new - at my daughter's request - that is how long I have been coming back, long enough to become a mom, raise her up and take her to the best dining spots :) I highly recommend the black widow, it is my go to daytime sip if we stop in for lunch, daughter recommends the Shirley Temple, says "they do it right." During the day and early evening this is easily a family friendly spot, we often see babies. But never may kids to make you regret stopping in, it is relaxing and fun. Drinks are amazing, the entire food menu is phenomenal - you can't go wrong. ***I do miss the old cheese board set up, but I get that change has to happen and we love you just the same Old Monk. We are committed to coming back tomorrow for the fish&chips. Total dive bar pricing but phenomenal atmosphere. Not the sleezy kind, although we enjoy those too at times. J is an incredible bartender and has attention to detail down packed! He is a great mixologist so test him with a cocktail and he will blow your mind! We come all the way from Arlington for the prices, food, drinks...but mostly for the staff. Truly an amazing crew!

Happy Hour Oysters are amazing!…read more I forgot the cocktail names, but I got the espresso martini with tequila peanut butter and my man got the drink with the gunpowder gin. They were both very good, we got second rounds of it too. Food wise, the happy oysters were great and refreshing. We tried oysters from multiple different locations. Hot food were solid. Fried calamari, jumbo lump crab cakes with sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes, fish and chips with cheesy grits were all good! Service was a little slow, but we went during half priced wine bottles which made sense. Everyone was nice and helpful though! Ambiance was very nice too. Definitely recommend!

They utilize team approach where someone else brought the drinks and food runners brought the food. Manager checked on us to make sure everything was good. Our water glasses were never empty. I ordered a Bloody Mary that they returned with a shrimp and celery stick. Nice touch. I specifically went here to try their soft shell crab and it did not disappoint. Others in the party had lobster rolls and the fried shrimp basket. I forgot to mention that we had the appetizers , crab hush puppies and fried oysters and both were excellent. We also tried the bread pudding and key lime pie for dessert that we really liked. Overall we would definitely return.

We started with skinny fries and dynamite shrimp to share, both were sooo good. The tempura shrimp was perfectly battered and the sauce really set it off. The fries were perfectly seasoned too, and the dipping sauces were delicious, especially the honey mustard. For my entrée I got the lobster roll, which came with more skinny fries (yay!) My friend ordered the fish tacos, which came more wrap-style instead of traditional taco shells, but she said they were still really good. We ended with the key lime pie and it was so good I had to order a second one to go and enjoy at home. 10/10

Unfortunately, the salad was extremely salty--so much so that it was difficult to enjoy. I'm not sure if it was the dressing or seasoning, but it was definitely overwhelming. What really stood out, though, was the customer service. Jacob, our server, was great--attentive, friendly, and professional. Management was also very responsive when I mentioned the issue with my salad. The manager personally brought out additional fresh lettuce to help correct it, which I genuinely appreciated. Even though the salad missed the mark this visit, the way Jacob and management handled everything made a difference. Great customer service goes a long way with me, and because of that, I'm willing to come back and give Hudson House another try. Hopefully, next time the food matches the level of service!
