After a busy day of furniture shopping with my sister, we were starving! I wanted seafood, so my sister says as a joke, there's a LJS near by. I hadn't been to LJS in YEARS, so, her joke paid off. All we had to do was cross the freeway and we were there. It looked like they took pretty good care of the restaurant because it was pretty clean. Sometimes when I go to fast food, it seems like all the tables are dirty. The lady that took our order was super friendly. She suggested that we download the app because they had some good specials going on. It did save us a little bit of money. We both ordered the chicken, fish and shrimp and a Dr. Pepper. We ate there... all the tables already had hot sauce and the malt vinegar on them, so that was nice. They even brought our platters to the table. The food was hot and fresh. It was good, I mean, it was LJS. It wasn't a star dinning, but for LJS, it was better than some I've been to in the past. They also loaded up our platters with crunchies. Who doesn't like extra crunchies? All and all, it was a much better experience than I thought to would have been, and if I'm ever on that side of town again, I may just have to stop by again. read more

Not sure how many people read reviews for fast food joints on yelp, but I'll give it a try. I order from this location all the time. My wife will at times pick some up and bring me lunch. When I tell her I want Long John's, she always replies that she hates ordering from there because the ladies are rude. Well I haven't had it in a couple of weeks and was craving it bad. So, drove 30 mins out of my way to get some on my day off last week. Arrive and immediately the tattooed woman behind the counter approached us with attitude. Without looking at us, she asked for here or to go? I couldn't hear so well so I didn't even realize she was talking to me. Then she turned her head with attitude and asked again in a firm tone with attitude. I told her that I wanted the 5 piece fish and chicken combo but wanted all chicken. It's how they've recommended doing it in the past since I only like the chicken. Immediately the woman big nods her head no before I could finish telling her what I wanted. I said, that's how they told me to order it. She said too many people are ordering that way and they're not gonna allow it. You're gonna have to order the 3 piece and add two pieces to it. I asked how much that was and she replied with attitude, look at the menu the prices are up there. When I told her that's it way more expensive that way, she replied, of course, that's why they want you to order it that way. By this time I'm pissed with this woman's attitude problem and lack of any customer service. I tell my wife, let's go. This bitch is being rude. Then the woman came out from behind the counter with her arms open like she was ready for a fist fight yelling, I'm not rude. I know greenspoint is a rough area but the staff doesn't have to be that way too. Walking out, my wife said that that woman is the nicest of all of the employees that work there. That means the others are even more getto than this one. Needless to say, I still lost out in this situation cause now I gotta wait on her to get canned or quit before I can order there again unless I want to get any extra "secret sauce" in my food. I made a stink about it to Long John's corporate, telling them I wanted to speak to a person about this. They made me complete a survey then sent a $5 coupon to my email. You would think a company on the brink of collapse would value some feedback from someone who purchases from them often. There's only a handful left here in town and at this rate there won't be any left at all very soon. Going to another location didn't help either. Drove up to the Long John's in Spring the next day. I got 1 piece of fish 1 piece of chicken with clam strips.....no vinegar.... there is no hope for them.....I'm done...I will NEVER order from them again.... Went here to try the infamous long John silvers, to see if it really is the worst, it's not. The food was okay, 4/10 on taste and flavor but 9/10 on crispness. Fish was better quality than expected. However there was a tattooed lady/old man (cannot tell) that was just rude, like damn normally is someone is rude in a restaurant I normally don't care, however this person was harsh and rude at the same time like a witch. Some people hate their jobs but I can tell the fish oils seeped into her/his brain and genetically destroyed it on a DNA level. I can actually tell she's the manager since she's bossing everyone in the back and had this goofy shirt. The two stars was just for the crispness. This location is the closest LJS to me and I usually stop by when coming back from Houston. First time ever I've been to a LJS and they were out of COD...‍. Didn't know there was a cod shortage. Got the "fish" version, but it wasn't that classic LJS taste that I was going for. Tried the crab bites but they were a hassle to get out of their packaging (what a pain!). Please start carrying packets of mayonnaise- ketchup is not the only sauce for fries (IYKYK). Today was my first time stopping here. So far kinda disappointed that there was NO root beer. Like what?! There is literally a bunch of signs for their freshly made root beer everywhere!! This horrid place doubles as a Long John Silver's and an A&W Root Beer Shop. It fails miserably in both categories! It's filthy inside. The service is so bad that no service at all would be an improvement. I first took my son there to introduce him to the joys of root beer floats. Unfortunately, despite the big "A&W Root Beer" sign, they didn't have any root beer on hand that day. Recently, on the way home from a baseball game, we stopped by to give them another chance on root beer floats. The food brought out up from a 1 star. The food was maybe 3 star. There was a machine on the counter, maybe ice cream or something? It was running through a cycle that made it impossible to hear. I measured the sound level at my table at 81db. That's like stressful on the street in rush hour. The cashier was moping the floor and asked me a question a son as I walked in. I couldn't hear her over the machine. I came up closer as she went around the counter.i asked her what she said and she seemed angry with me. She then said, "so it's to go then?" I told her my order. Multiple times during exchange she appeared to be mad at me right down to yanking the receipt of the register. Machine turned on and off multiple times while I dined. At one point someone in the back of the store shouted that she needed help. An employee that has been resting in the dining area for up and slowly went to the back. There were a couple of times that the employees got heated in the back just short of yelling at each other. The seating in the dining room has very few movable seats so I had a hard time getting comfortable. Dining area side machine was broken. I believe workers are overworked and that coupled with this extremely loud noise coming in all the time has put them in a foul mood. Management needs to step up and fix the machines and make sure the employees have enough coverage that they are not overwhelmed. read more

We waited in the DRIVE THROUGH for 30 minutes, finally paid for our food and they said that it'll take another 3 minutes for the food to be ready and if we could pull up to the front. 10 minutes later, nobody came out so my brother went inside to ask where our food was, he comes back with a drink and a Hershey pie, and explained that they said they will come out with the food. As a black man myself I hate to do this to my own but The African American lady taking orders at the drive thru window was extremely unprofessional, had extremely poor customer service, she didn't even know the menu to ask if I wanted to single or double A2. She told me the A2 is double only, completely unaware there is two options, and when I told her which one proportion I wanted she spoke over me saying I know sir I already got you. This locations technology is extremely outdated they have a sign saying stay behind the white drive thru line, which there isn't one. When I passed the same lady yells over the intercom for me to back up. I look down for the line and it's yellow spray paint. The customer service, horrible.... kept getting a out order wrong but said we were complicated. Moving on go to drink station, the tea was empty and they didn't have any in back, I tried the unsweetened tea and it tasted old and gross like it was hot, cold, hot, cold. Where you set the drink down to put lids on we're tiny little black bugs crawling everywhere! The seats at every table was torn and taped or not taped, food in between booth seats, food and spilt ketchup on floor, the wait was almost 20 minutes. They did nothing about bugs, but still sat and ate for the review. The food overall was good, I got the corn dog nuggets and fries. Tasty. The bacon burger, the bottom bun was so flat I thought there wasn't one, there was so many veggies I couldn't see patty, and it was the saltiest food I have ever had. The shrimp was good and fluffy. This is my guilty pleasure review. I don't eat a lot of fast food, but if this place were located inside the loop--how hilarious would that be--then you may bust me on more than one occasion, at the drive-thru, taking care of my fish and chips jones. I also like the lobster bites (though I am highly skeptical that the actual ingredients have anything to do with lobster--distant related cousin is more like it). The fries are mediocre, but if eaten fresh and piping hot with your piece of battered cod, it's all good. They are trying to appeal to a more health-conscious clientele with their Freshside Grille menu: grilled tilapia, grilled Pacific salmon, shrimp scampi, and Whoa?! a vegetable medley. I doubt I will be trying any of these, since my instinct is they may resemble a re-heated frozen dinner. If I'm going to be bad, then I'm going all the way. read more
