The girl behind the counter was friendly and checked up on us to see if things were ok. In the vid the guy said get the garlic butter med spice which I did get for my first 2lbs. My husband got the same but he got Spicy. For our 2nd round we decided to go for the citrus twist. I got extra spicy. Definitely different tasting than your regular crawfish places but its that unique flavor that kept us wanting more. I will say that the best way to go is to get the Spicy. Extra spicy is not bad if you don't mind a lil kick. I was looking for a new place to try for my fried fish and came across here. Their combo options is what really got me to try here. But on my first order they did have me waiting a long time there due to a mix up. I order double catfish with a combo but you can't double on combos which I assume the person taking the order over the phone wasn't aware of. This caused the women there to not find my order and me waiting awhile. When I finally got home it was good and the wings that I added to try were also pretty solid. It hasn't replaced my go to spot for fried fish but as a close alternative they are there for my switch up days. I couldn't imagine spending an extra four dollars for their cajun style yellow rice. Just not a fan. The real winner here was the catfish. The catfish was excellent! I could almost give them three stars for the fish because it's really good! But with the rice and wings lacking so much two stars it is! Also the food is not worth 15.00! My wife and I both ordered the Cajun Crawler. Mine was a mix of both cajun and garlic butter spices with the "spicy" level of heat and I ordered an additional two pounds of crawfish. Food: The actual spice level about a medium compared to most other places. The food was cooked properly and the crawfish were mostly large and medium in size. The spices are lacking flavor and tasted more of butter than anything else which is disappointing. Maybe too much butter? We both had Iced Tea which are served in styrofoam cups with a lid. This made it awkward to open when asking for a refill since my hands were dripping with the spices and butter from the food at the time. Perhaps no lids or reusable glasses when dining in would be a better choice. When I did open the cup, I noticed that there was a small bug inside. I could not tell if it was a small roach or some type of small beetle. Hoping for the latter. The waitress gave me a new cup. Service: The service was good but there was a mistake on one of the orders that we caught after my wife had already started eating. She had only ordered the Cajun Crawler and not two additional pounds of crawfish as well. The waitress first said they would just remove it from the bill and we can keep the additional crawfish. A few minutes later she asked if she could take the plate to the back to remove the additional crawfish. We told her no we'll just pay for it then. We thought that was a bit weird but they did remove the two extra pounds when we got the check. Ambiance: The restaurant is small but looked clean. They seemed to be very busy with dine in and take out orders so that's good. Now I have tried a lot of crawfish places in town but I have to say this restaurant completely nailed the flavor! The crawfish was richly seasoned with the right amount of saltiness and kick (we ordered Medium spicy level). They also gave us this lime infused butter sauce that I thought compliments the seafood flavor amazingly! I have to say though that since I didn't come at peak crawfish season (middle February), the crawfish was kinda small. Let's talk prices. At 8.99 per pound, this is easily one of the cheapest spot in town for crawfish! They even have a crawfish combo at around $40 for 4 pounds of crawfish with 2 corns, 2 sausages, and 2 potatoes. What's more, for every 5 pounds you order, the next pound is free! So we basically ordered the combo with 4 extra pounds of crawfish, one of which was free (because we exceeded 5 pounds). When we came, there was only one front person with no waiters, but she was very helpful and attends to our needs very quickly! I am a die hard, loyal fan of Hank's Crawfish (Fry Rd location), and before that, the location in Bear Creek (Hwy 6 N). In the past twenty years, I've only tried two other spots, and I've always gone back to Hank's. Well I was going to Hank's this past Saturday, but all indications said the Fry Rd. location was closed, and there was no answer when I called. I wasn't really feeling the Hwy 6 location, so after reaching out on FB for some recommendation, and doing a Google search, I came across this place. It's funny bc I only focus on what comes up on the first page of my Google search and this spot was actually on the second page. AND, it was an hour away from my house, so please believe me, I had high expectations. Well Cajun Crawfish did not disappoint! My Hubby got the wings (fish sauce & lemon pepper); he loved them. I started with 2lbs of the "stir fry spicy", and the flavor was yummy, but it wasn't spicy enough for me. The green onions & regular onion slices were an okay addition, but I would've appreciated bulbed onions more (or baby onions if that's a thing). Either way, the flavor was good enough for me to take some food to go. So I grabbed the Cajun Super Boil, w/ garlic butter, 2x's extra spicy, and the heat WAS PERFECT!! I like spicy so be warned, it has one hell of a kick. The service was awesome, and be warned they don't have (free) refillable fountain sodas, but they have tea.
