I ordered a complete Magnaflow factory fit stainless steel exhaust system for my 1990 BMW E30. Unfortunately it was missing a flange which Magnaflow (for some reason) doesn't include in the kit. I also needed som hangers. Long Beach Muffler came highly recommended. I called and made an appointment with Dennis. The work was quality, the price was right, hassle free, and completed even sooner than promised. It looks and sounds great! First class service all the way. Thank you Dennis. I'll definitely be back. read more

Excellent service and fair prices. Very friendly and the place is easy to find. I feel confident that my catalytic converter is secure finally! read more

Just wanted you to know how happy Keith and I are with Dennis's recommendation of BG 44K Fuel System Cleaner Enhancer with Funnel which, by the way, was $29.93 including tax on Amazon! It boggles the mind that Dennis would be the most honest person around and offer something that actually FIXED our issues and saved us almost $3,000!! HOW DO YOU MAKE YOUR MONEY is our only concern at this point because you are nothing short of AMAZING! We came to you after THREE different estimates--all dealerships--one of which was $2,800 (!!) and when you said that we needed to try this Fuel System Cleaner Enhancer before going the way of replacing either or both of our catalytic converters!!You are appropriately billed on your website as "Friendly Service at an Honest Price-Catalytic Converter Specialists and Quality Exhaust Systems Since 1957." THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! Again, Dennis, we don't know how you make money but we are coming to you in the future before making any big financial decisions with our cars and we are GRATEFUL that there is a Dennis being honest and watching out for people! read more

Long Beach Muffler (LBM) is the under promise and over deliver muffler installer of choice! I needed a pair of trusty but super rusty mufflers and sections of exhaust tubing replaced on my old Chevy. I was quoted 5 hours to have the job completed. Their time estimate was WAY OFF! They had the job done in TWO hours! I was very impressed. The work was clean, the price was reasonable, and the car sounds great again. Thank you!! read more

Best customer service I've experienced in a long time!!! I called to make an appt to have my catalytic converter replaced. He advised me that he was booked for up to a week, but told me if I dropped it off the next day early, he would "try" and get it done before he closed (which was at 4pm). Not only did he get it done, but he managed to get it done faster than expected and I was able to pick it up on my lunch hour. Dennis was nice, friendly , professional and very accommodating. I would highly recommend. ~Rona West read more

Found the place on reviews, Was pleased to find myself talking to Dennis himself when I called. I was getting a second opinion on a catalytic converter diagnosis from another shop. Dennis consulted me over the phone about my vehicle and recommended a product to try before shelling out 2k for the recommended replacement from a nearby mechanic on the same street. The product worked, I saved over 2k and that's an honest man running an honest business. I will be bringing my vehicles there from here on out and recommend this place relentlessly as an honest business you can trust! A rare gem to find. Thank you read more

Our 1990 Buick Reatta needed exhaust system work. Wanted to find a place that will perform a proper job as replacement items are no longer available. After calling and "interviewing" multiple places, I found Long Beach Muffler. Dennis really knows what he's is doing with his many years of experience, and at a great price! Everything from the catalytic converter and muffler was replaced. Dennis was able to keep the same OEM dual tip tail pipes from the muffler. Nice and quiet now! Only problem is now I can hear other noises i need to fix! :-) Thank you Dennis read more

Excellent service and attention to detail here. My neighborhood has been plagued by catalytic converter thefts. I went online and found this place and requested an estimate. Dennis quoted me on a Cat Cage to protect my VW Bus's catalytic Converter. It was very reasonable and his installation was top notch. He even replaced part of my old tailpipe that had rust holes in it for no charge. How refreshing to find good quality workmanship here in the LBC! Go here, you will be happy you did! read more

I highly recommend Long Beach Muffler for quality exhaust system repair. I was impressed with the entire experience. Specifically, Dennis is honest and professional. He responded to my email inquiry very quickly and offered a fair price. He finished the muffler repair earlier than promised. He also set my tires to the pressure I like, but I didn't discuss this with him, he just did it. My 20 year old SUV runs as smooth as when I bought it new. Thank you Dennis! read more

Dennis got the cat on my Jeep replaced and a custom cable with VIN etched on it for additional security. Well worth the $100 investment. LB and surrounding areas are being hit hard, the tow truck guy told me that this was his 5th tow this week and was only WED with cars having their catalytics stolen. Quick Affordable Professional Great job LB Muffler & Dennis. read more

Outstanding shop. Honest, good price, and high quality work. You'll be glad you checked in on this Muffler Shop. Not enough stars to show how satisfied I am with the work I had done. Ask for Dennis. read more

Truly a pleasure to deal with. Had an expensive job for him to do, and Dennis really came through on several fronts: one, he was able to price-match an expensive part that happened to be on sale online; two, he finished the job well ahead of the quoted time estimate; three, he was one of the most friendly auto shop owners I've ever met in Long Beach. Can't go wrong with Dennis! read more

Quoted 1.5 hrs for a simple bolt on swap on a cat back exhaust for a truck... job takes 30min in a driveway by 1 guy Edit: owner, you responded that I didn't have a part number??? What does that have to do with ANYTHING when I said over and over again it was "bolt-on" system... which means zero custom work, unbolt old then bolt on new using same hardware. A simple swap. I ended up doing it myself it took 40 min without jacking it up. read more

Great customer service and honest. Came in with my truck and the owner checked every possible way for the concerns I have with truck and found nothing and also didn't charge for his time and inspection. Thank you again and will definitely be back. read more

I do most things on my own, but when I'm in a hurry, and can't get something done, I like to find small business gems like this. It's Saturday, they aren't even open, but Dennis took my truck anyway to do a quick chop and weld to my exhaust. I haven't even picked my truck up yet, but I can tell he's attention to detail on his work, so I'm extremely confident! Little pricey for the job, but I can't complain because it's last minute during closing hours, and I had to have it done before Tuesday. I'm extremely picky when it comes to taking my vehicles to shops, and I love when I find places like Long Beach Muffler. Thanks! read more

I'm trying to register my g/f's 93 Camry and it has failed emissions twice! High HC's is the culprit. I've done all necessary tune ups but was lacking the new cat. Dennis is very knowledgeable. He'll remember your name when you come back! HA! He's the greatest. Installed the cat in less than an hour. You WILL love the service you get from him. I recommend anybody who has an exhaust problem to go here first! They carry all the major brands too (Flowmaster, Magnaflow, etc). If you don't at least call here first, then you're making a mistake. Oh yeah, I called Midas for the same service, and the price was double of what I paid at Long Beach Muffler. Not only that, there's a lot of crappy reviews for Midas. Don't pay the chains, support the local businesses! read more

I paid to have shorty ceramic headers installed on a car, which seemed to be installed properly at first. Then about a month later exhaust leaks started occurring at the header flange areas. I crawled under to see that the exhaust was installed in such a way the the mating surfaces were not true or parallel to each other so as to cause the gaskets to fail quickly. Also, some the heaxer bolts started to back out some. Dennis refused to correct the negligent work. He claimed there was no warranty on the parts, even when I pointed out the faulty work. I strongly advise againts having any work performed on your vehicle at this shop, hack work and unprofessional service. read more

This place sucks. Let me tell you, for almost a week now, I have been trying to get a hold of this shop to find out how much they charged to replace my catalytic converter in my Jetta. A WEEK AND NO CALL BACKS, FAX RESPONSE, OR EMAIL RESPONSE. The hell im gonna drive my car over there (gas is expensive). And if these people werent going to answer their phones (yeah, phone rang and rang), I was not going to show up in person. I called them twice and same result. I don't know how they have a business where they can't respond to quote requests via email or fax. It is ridiculous! Pointless business! read more

So... my truck failed a smog test. It only has 80k miles on it. Called Long Beach Muffler, Dennis told me to come down and he would take a look at my truck. Dennis put my truck on the lift for free, gave me documents to take back to the smog test station to prove that my truck was ok (the correct catalytic converters were indeed on my truck). AT NO CHARGE. While at the smog test station, I had to call Dennis and he even spent a few minutes talking to the smog station attendant, trying to give him the correct information. I would bring all my business here from now on. read more

This was a midas when I originally went or, perhaps they had changed the name and I just didn't notice due to the fumes coming from my crooked tail pipe! Boy did I get blessed, my "Cream Puff' had the misfortune of backing up to the wall ( I should know how to back up to anything I HAVE had lots of practice!) and bending the tail pipe so excelerating was causing...let's say a lot of problems for the little darling. Guess what? They didn't have the exhaust system in stock because she is a 1990 but the manager called around until he found one; it was delivered within an hour and installed with out incident. $83 including labor; I felt that was more than fair with all of the phone calling and such done by the manager. Also, they were ALL really nice guys and my Castillian blood was racing like sand through an hour glass with to much room! Thank goodness for Dennis at Long Beach Muffler. Before I found out about Dennis, I made the mistake of taking our car to another muffler shop in LB to replace the catalytic converter, what a nightmare! They installed the wrong one, bypassed part of the emission system, their workmanship was deplorable and their customer service abysmal. Luckily, I happened upon Dennis' website and decided to give them a try. Dennis was wonderful to deal with and did a GREAT job repairing the mess the other shop had made and even took the time to give me a ride back to the house when I dropped off the car. Dennis replaced our catalytic converter with the correct one, took time to answer all of my questions and did a great job! His price was extremely reasonable and he clearly takes pride in the work he does. Long Beach Muffler has been around over 50 years, now I know, there's a good reason why! If you ever need exhaust work, or a new catalytic converter, take your car over to Dennis @ Long Beach Muffler, you'll be happy you did. read more

My boyfriend recommended Long Beach Muffler to me when it came time to get my old Land Rover fixed. I had always taken it to places near me (in Santa Monica), thinking it needed to go to the specialized Land Rover mechanics, and I had always spent a fortune for shoddy service and rude mechanics. Now that I have discovered this gem of a shop I will ONLY take it to Dennis at Long Beach Muffler. And I this is the ONLY place I would ever recommend to anyone looking for a mechanic. Dennis is that rarity in a mechanic: honest, hard-working, fast but meticulous with his work. He will quote you a fair price and will stick to it. You cannot go wrong with Long Beach Muffler and he truly deserves the business. Think twice before going to one of the big names (Midas, etc) as there is no chance they will treat your car (or you) with the care and respect that Dennis does. Take a chance and you'll see for yourself! read more

Dennis runs a great shop. like others I too had my car fail the Smog test due to a burnt out catalytic converter. I went to LB Muffler and was treated well. Hello, Just writing another review...just picked up my SUV from Dennis, I dropped it off Friday around 10am and it was ready today(Monday) by 10am...I absolutely love this place. I had a good amount of work done on my truck which was pretty expensive...my truck definitely needed it. Dennis was able to work with me on the price to where I could actually afford to fix the problems that had started. I'm going to make this review short and sweet. The customer service from this shop is absolutely amazing, Dennis is reliable and trustworthy and the overall price for service is very reasonable. The time frame is usually just on time or ready before expected. If you are looking for a good shop to take your automobile to, this is the one! Thank you Dennis, you rock! read more

The exhaust was bent on my lil Mini when he got rear-ended, and the collision repair sent him here. Dennis and Co treated me very well, and were great about explaining the technicalities, even bringing me around to see things first hand (which loving cars, especially the welfare of my own, I appreciated immensely). Fast, fair priced and honest. Dennis @ Long Beach Muffler will shoot you straight on what your car needs, get you set up quick and when it's all over you'll still have $$$ in the bank. I can't tell you how many times I've had mechanics try to B.S. me on things I don't need or charge me for work they didn't perform. I don't have to worry about that anymore.
