Quoted 1.5 hrs for a simple bolt on swap on a cat back exhaust for a truck... job takes 30min in a driveway by 1 guy Edit: owner, you responded that I didn't have a part number??? What does that have to do with ANYTHING when I said over and over again it was "bolt-on" system... which means zero custom work, unbolt old then bolt on new using same hardware. A simple swap. I paid to have shorty ceramic headers installed on a car, which seemed to be installed properly at first. Then about a month later exhaust leaks started occurring at the header flange areas. I crawled under to see that the exhaust was installed in such a way the the mating surfaces were not true or parallel to each other so as to cause the gaskets to fail quickly. Also, some the heaxer bolts started to back out some. Dennis refused to correct the negligent work. He claimed there was no warranty on the parts, even when I pointed out the faulty work. I strongly advise againts having any work performed on your vehicle at this shop, hack work and unprofessional service. read more

So... my truck failed a smog test. It only has 80k miles on it. Called Long Beach Muffler, Dennis told me to come down and he would take a look at my truck. Dennis put my truck on the lift for free, gave me documents to take back to the smog test station to prove that my truck was ok (the correct catalytic converters were indeed on my truck). AT NO CHARGE. While at the smog test station, I had to call Dennis and he even spent a few minutes talking to the smog station attendant, trying to give him the correct information. I'm trying to register my g/f's 93 Camry and it has failed emissions twice! High HC's is the culprit. I've done all necessary tune ups but was lacking the new cat. Dennis is very knowledgeable. This place sucks. Let me tell you, for almost a week now, I have been trying to get a hold of this shop to find out how much they charged to replace my catalytic converter in my Jetta. A WEEK AND NO CALL BACKS, FAX RESPONSE, OR EMAIL RESPONSE. The hell im gonna drive my car over there (gas is expensive). This was a midas when I originally went or, perhaps they had changed the name and I just didn't notice due to the fumes coming from my crooked tail pipe! Boy did I get blessed, my "Cream Puff' had the misfortune of backing up to the wall ( I should know how to back up to anything I HAVE had lots of practice!) and bending the tail pipe so excelerating was causing...let's say a lot of problems for the little darling. Guess what? They didn't have the exhaust system in stock because she is a 1990 but the manager called around until he found one; it was delivered within an hour and installed with out incident. $83 including labor; I felt that was more than fair with all of the phone calling and such done by the manager. Also, they were ALL really nice guys and my Castillian blood was racing like sand through an hour glass with to much room! Before I found out about Dennis, I made the mistake of taking our car to another muffler shop in LB to replace the catalytic converter, what a nightmare! They installed the wrong one, bypassed part of the emission system, their workmanship was deplorable and their customer service abysmal. Luckily, I happened upon Dennis' website and decided to give them a try. Dennis was wonderful to deal with and did a GREAT job repairing the mess the other shop had made and even took the time to give me a ride back to the house when I dropped off the car.
