Although we weren't able to use Lone Star Patio for our project, I wanted to recognize Michael Baird for providing outstanding customer service. From our very first phone conversation, he was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly generous with his time. When I explained that we were looking for a solarium, Michael was upfront that Lone Star Patio doesn't offer that service. Instead of ending the conversation, he went above and beyond by recommending another company that "cuts out the middleman," which could potentially save us money. He also shared the name of a company he highly recommends for outdoor kitchens. It's rare to find someone who is more interested in helping a customer find the right solution than simply making a sale. Michael's honesty, integrity, and willingness to point us in the right direction made a lasting impression. If his customer service is any indication of how Lone Star Patio does business, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Michael and his company to anyone looking for a patio or outdoor living project. Pete came to our house May 3rd 12:00. Took down all information and then said he would put it together and get back with us. 2 weeks went by and called, no answer so left message. No reply at all. Called 4 more times, left messages and then texted. No replies at all. So I called the Lone Stare Patios 2 times, they answered and said they would have Pete contact us both times. Nerver a call back. I would highly recommend that you do not waste your time with such inconsiderate company as Lone Star Patios. Not worth wasting your time on them. 1st they need to fire Pete and then send us an apology letter. I now have a contract with Russell Glass! I called them to come out to my property to give me an estimate they were late to that appointment and they didn't even confirm that it was the time we had set until I sent an email and asked the day of. It has now been 17 days with no communication whatsoever I have emailed 3 times and left messages with no answer they clearly do not care about their customers or getting business. At least have the common courtesy to tell someone you're not intrested in their project so they're not holding up other companies that may be bidding for the project. Jeanie was very friendly and scheduled initial appointment a week out. Day of appointment, I received a voicemail stating I must confirm the appointment or the man that left message wasn't coming. I returned the call and left a confirmation message. Michael called ten minutes later, and asked me what my project would cover. I stated an outdoor patio. I had previously given this information to Jeanie. He then wanted specific details of my project, I questioned, isn't that what our appointment would cover? He stated, he just wanted to make sure they could help me. I found these questions from a patio company suspect, so I told him not to bother coming, It seemed Michael wasn't interested in making his company money that day.... I'm joining the other "one star" people here regarding Lone Star Patio in Austin. I spoke with an LSP representative who took down the general parameters of the project we are considering... including: 1) extending our patio foundation; 2) raising /extending the roof line to accommodate a ceiling fan; 3) screens; and 4) some landscaping. Having received a follow-up email to confirmed the date a Mr. Baird from LST would come by to do an estimate I was encouraged... based on LST's projects gallery on their website, I felt they would be the right contractor to address the varrious construction and installation aspects of our project. On the day Mr Baird was scheduled to do the estimate I received a call a half hour before the scheduled arrival time from someone named Pete (?) who basically said they only do screening and that the rest of the work (patio, roof, etc) was not work they did. I was disappointed to learn this and "pissed-off" that I wasn't told this when I contacted the company? There are pictures of the kind work we are looking for on their web-site.. including getting the appropriate permits, etc.? I'll find someone else... and wouldn't recommend you waste your time with Lone Star Patio of Austin. read more

I put a 12' x 33' concrete slab at the back of my house in preparation for a sunroom and then got visits and bids from several installers in the Austin area. In a previous house some years ago I had had a moderately unpleasant experience with a nationally known sunroom installer because of leaks and maintenance and, this time, made careful plans in advance. I considered a wood framed structure but the cost would have been 1.5 - 2.5 time more. I chose Lone Star Patio. They installed a beautiful aluminum sunroom over the slab (11 windows + a cabana door) with electrical outlets/fan/light. Peter Garcia, the owner, had a personal hand in almost everything that got done. He is easy to communicate with and responds promptly to texts, emails and phone calls. The person who manually did the installation, Sean, is a perfectionist (and also a really nice fellow). The electricians - subcontractors - were so good that I will call them myself if I need electrical work. Peter knows how to choose good workers. There were some significant delays but these were due to weather and matters beyond Lone Star Patio's control. There is a 5 year labor warranty from Lone Star Patio + longer materials warranties from Norandex (for the windows) and PGT (for the door). Overall, we are very happy with results and I trust the company to provide maintenance, if it's needed during the warranty periods. read more

Unfortunately had this company and Pete G. install a screened in porch a few months back. The job they did then was fine, however lawn guy accidentally punched a hole in one of the panels so I text Pete G. at LSP to see if he could repair the panel. He said he would call the following week and set up a date to come out and fix it. No call the following week or the week after that. Texted Pete again, no answer. Called and left a voice mail. No reply. Called Lone Star Patio and left a message and no return call. Finally asked someone from Skinner's to come out and provide a quote. They were happy to do the repairs, but wanted to know the exact screen that was originally used. Again, text and call Pete G. with no response. Same with Lone Star Patio. Not sure if they have gone out of business, but if they are still in business, they really don't care too much about their past clients. I would recommend using another contractor like Skinners in Georgetown. JT read more

Their work is good...but beware of what they say they will do...I had a pergola built over my patio...I made the mistake of believing the District Sales Mgr Michael Baird when he said he would take care of getting the HOA's approval if I'd let them go ahead and do the work...my bad! After two months and no approval, I call and talked to the office and finally Mr Baird, in person, who apologized and assured me he would take care of the approval request; a month later nothing so I called and talked to Mr Baird's boss Peet...again assured he would take care of the matter...even send me a copy of the approval request...it's been 5 months sent they built the pergola and still no approval. I even had to call the office to get them to come and remove all the left over material...10 days after the said they'd come get it. read more

The LSP salesman provided the best quote of 5 on my new patio job while promising that once the materials arrived, it would take 3 days, max, to get the job done. One day to tear down the old structure and cement the uprights, one day to install the cover, and maybe one day to do the electrical. Once materials arrived, a week went by without any contact. I contacted LSP and they had no idea what I was talking about, meanwhile I was assuming they would show up any day to start work. This meant keeping pets indoors, moving all our patio furniture and plants into the yard, etc. They finally showed up about 2 weeks after materials showed up (guess what happened to the grass under these materials). The various workers showed up around 11am every day for a few weeks, if they felt like it, and worked a couple hours here and there to get the project done. This was not what was agreed upon, but hey, they're getting things done, great. This meant another month of pets unhappy cause they could not go outside, and all our patio stuff being exposed to the elements even longer. Once the project seemed done, the electrician was called in. This took another whole week for him to do a couple hours of work. When he was done, I was glad to have the project finished so we could get back to normal life. It would have been great, except when I flipped the breakers back on, there were sparks, and smoke coming from behind the wall switch that operates the security light. Somehow the electrician had crossed the wires on two different breakers, and very possibly could have burned down the house. While he came back the next day to fix it, he could have just tested his work by turning on the breakers himself to see that he didn't do it right. All in all I am satisfied with the patio cover product (the actual materials that are on my patio currently), but would not hire the bumbling contractors used for installation to build my dog a house. The office staff was not any more helpful at all. I can't count how many times they took my call and promised to find out what the problem was and call back later. They never called back. When I suggested that, no, I was not satisfied, they again promised to call back and a week with no response later, they arrived at the door to collect the bill. Now you know. Just use someone else. It's not worth the headache. read more

I would like to give a "0" for customer service. Please don't spend your money with a company that will not help you with a repair on your awning that you bought from them, their people installed. The owner Pete will not even return my call after he promised to help me. They get your money then don't care about you, their service or product. Very long story that I won't bore you with but not willing to help a customer at all just isn't right. Run as fast as you can to another vendor. read more

Lone Star Patio is not a company with which I would recommend doing business. I made an appointment with them for a review and an estimate for installing a screened in area under an existing roofed patio. Pete showed up on time for the appointment, seemed to know his business and made some suggestions for a solution. We settled on a plan. He said he would get back to me with an estimate for the job. A week later I had not heard from him, so I gave the office a call and asked when I could expect an estimate. The receptionist said she would contact Pete and have him get back to me. I never received a call from him. I called once more and the receptionist said she would again give Pete the message. It has been almost two weeks and I still have not been contacted. If they did not want to take on this job (too small, they are too busy, etc.) they should have been courteous enough to call me back to inform me. Instead it appears that they just decided to ignore me and hope I would "go away". I found this very unprofessional. Needless to say and I will not be doing business with Lone Star Patio. read more

If I could give a zero star review, I would. We had a patio cover built with Lone Star Patio in Austin. We do not recommend using them. They started out on a high note with a beautiful product and that is when it all started to crumble. My wife received a phone call on the day that material was to be delivered that it had already been delivered. We knew nothing of a time frame. They called to inform us that it was left on our front yard. (normal practice is to reschedule delivery if no one is home) After that I had to scramble and leave work early in order to meet with the guy to have it put in our backyard. We were both upset as we should be. We did not want to have an eyesore to our neighbors in our yard and risk the HOA fining us. This is where it gets really bad. The day that the installer had already arrived and started working, my wife received a voicemail from the company where it was clear as day that he said " That lady is a bitch" Appalling! We have had no contact with the individual since and no apology has been given. They told us that we should ignore the invoice and that they would rectify the situation. The final invoice arrived and the discount that was rendered was .05 cents! That is more insulting than what was left on the voicemail. I just wanted you all to know that about this company. It is a long story but just do business with them at your own risk! read more

Lone Star Patio screened in our back patio in June 2012. At that time they assured us that the material and workmanship was guaranteed. In May 2013 we noticed some holes had appeared in the screen, so we contacted Pete Garcia, the manager. He assured that the damage (probably caused by insects or birds) was covered by the warranty and they would replace it at no charge. When the work had not been done, we emailed again in September 2013, called again in November 2013, and emailed again in May 2014. On each occasion Pete or one of his workers assured us they would replace the screen at no charge. As of May 31, 2013, no work has been done. We have been waiting for a full year for this warranty work to be done. I do not recommend this business. read more

I was very hopeful when I contacted this company looking for a screened in porch and patio. They called me back the next day and scheduled a consultation. The person doing the consultation seemed quite competent although he did seem rushed and seemed slightly annoyed by my questions. I saw him on a Friday and he told me my estimate would be ready the following Monday, 3 days later. A week and a half passed and I still did not have my estimate. I called to inquire, and without any apology for the delay, he kind of brushed me off and said he was waiting on some additional info and he'd be back with me soon. I still haven't heard anything. Thus, I definitely cannot recommend Lone Star Patio simply from the standpoint of poor customer service. They may do great work once you get them but the customer experience has been poor, so I am actually looking elsewhere. I am afraid this would be the type of service I would get throughout the entire project if I chose them, so I have decided to go with another company. As an update to my review, I ended up going with Russell Glass out of Georgetown and my screened in porch turned out beautifully. read more

I am extremely disappointed in this company. We have a screened patio that needs some repairs after a tree branch fell and damaged a screen and a bird flew through another, and I had one of the guys come out and give me a quote on repairing it. That was easy, and I anticipated a smooth repair with a reputable company. He said it would be easy and fairly inexpensive and that he'd have his guy come out and do the work as soon as possible. This was two weeks ago. I have called repeatedly and spoken with the office lady who has assured me that someone will call that day, but nada. Apparently they're too good to repair existing patios. If they don't build it new and get a lot of your $$, they clearly can't be bothered with your time. I know that another company (no longer in business) did the screens and even asked if they weren't interested in the job and she said that wasn't it at all, but I don't think I believe her anymore. Find someone else to do your patio work. A company that won't help maintain already done patios isn't someone I'd want doing a new one, either. read more

These guys just finished screening in my porch and I am ecstatic to have a mosquito free porch. The end result is great, and the service was mostly good. They responded and came out promptly when I requested a quote, and were similar in price to another quote. They discussed different options with me and brought color samples. The only problem I had was that I was told it would be three weeks until they were able to do the work and it was more like 6. However, they gave me a discount from the original quote and the final install was just what I wanted. The installer even called me when starting to be sure he understood some of the details. read more

Long on promises short on quality and service. Contacted Lone Star for bid and Michael Baird District Sales Manager came out on 2-15-16. Agreed on room design, price and start and finish dates. Said any problems contact him. Said start date would be 3-31-16 with completion 4 days later. Did not start work until 2 weeks later. Call Michael numerous times and left message with no reply. Installer names James showed up 2 weeks later with no excuse other than he was busy. Said he could only work late in afternoon and leave about 6pm. Said he could still finish work in 5 or 6 days. Called office but could not reach Michael and no one else could help. James showed up 2 days a week and worked a few hours and leave. Said he was too busy to spend much time on any project since he was a contractor and had other customers. Finely found out that owner of company is Pete Garcia. After many attempts was able to contact him. He made more promises about finishing project. Work was finished on 5-9-16 with Pete finely showing up for payment. After first rain room had numerous leeks. More call to Pete, took two weeks to reach him. Said he would send someone out. I told him not to send James back as I needed to have work done properly. Week later he sent Shawn to make repairs. Next rain more leaks. Called again Shawn makes more repairs. Next rain more leaks. Have been calling Pete but mail box full. Finely reached Pete early on morning said he would take care of it as soon as possible and give me a date when he got to the office. Can no longer reach Pete and still waiting!!!! If you need work done do not use Lone Star Patio. If you have use them with good results count yourself extremely lucky. read more

Lone Star Patio put a screened cover over our back patio a few years back, and at first, we were so happy to have it that we were willing to overlook the fact that the cover leaked a bit when it rained. However, the leaks got worse, and manager Pete Garcia was contacted. He did get someone out to work on the cover, but the next reasonably heavy rain, the leaks were worse than ever. Since that time, two or three years ago, we have made attempts to contact Pete and get our problems fixed. The secretary assures us that we will be contacted and the problems fixed. Neither happens. Pete did call back once, in the spring, and left a personal cellphone number to reach him. Repeated calls to that number have produced no conversations, no callbacks, and no leaks getting fixed. I am trying to find out if there is a regional or corporate office that can be contacted, and I intend to file a BBB complaint on Lone Star Patio in the very near future. My best advice? Stay away from doing business with Pete Garcia and Lone Star Patio. Their product leaks, and they're big at making promises but lousy at keeping them. The only reason they get one star from me is because there is no option to give them no stars. read more
