I can't recommend Austin Gardeners enough! Manuel Soto, the owner, truly has a gift. His artistic eye and deep understanding of landscaping completely transformed our yard into something beautiful and functional. They rejuvenated our side yards, completely transformed our backyard, and built a stunning outdoor kitchen for us. We've been struggling for years with tricky elevation and irrigation issues along the sides of our house, and Manuel really understood the problem and offered a great solution. His design was not only practical but also visually stunning. We had a pool put in the backyard by Cody Pools and alone it would not be the paradise that it is! The pool is beautiful, but the landscaping truly created a personal paradise! We can't forget about the outdoor kitchen. They built exactly what we wanted and precisely installed all the appliances. What a dream! His crews showed up each day ready to work hard--they put in long hours with care, efficiency, and professionalism. Every person on the team was skilled, respectful, and clearly took pride in their work. If you're looking for someone who combines creativity with technical expertise, Austin Gardeners is the team to call. We're beyond happy with the results! read more

Great service from start to finish. Manuel Soto designed the transformation of the backyard and he and his team delivered. We had a week or two delay to the start due to a very rainy April but the crew worked so hard to catch up and the project was completed within the projected time frame. The crew was amazing, they showed up on time, let us know when they would be working and not working and cleaned up everyday before leaving the job site. The attention to detail was so nice and the outcome is amazing. We're very happy with the work and the look of the yard and highly recommend Austin Gardeners. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The manager is extremely rude and condescending. I had them do a patio clean up summer 2023, including plants of their choosing that I requested native Texas plants, easy maintenance and nontoxic, drip line irrigation, metal edging, and Arizona River Rock. Carlo was lovely and the crew worked hard but two of their workers last summer looked about 14 years old. These experts picked toxic plants which an easy Google search by me (not the expert) had to ask them to remove their first choice of plants. They then found plants which all died with their irrigation system. They placed the plants where they would "thrive". The metal edging is full rust 1 year later. They installed rocks that were red and told me it was clay and would need to be washed off or a good rain to appear colorful. Well a year later, they are still red. They brought the wrong wrotes. The irrigation system was spraying water when I turned on the hose so I called them to come out and reattached it in which they wanted to charge me $95. Trying to work with the company was the straw that broke the camels back. They were extremely rude in their tone and when I asked them to work with me, they became condescending. This year, I hired college students from Facebook to plant new plants and it looks SO much better than the professional work. Truly, do not hire them. They are not in the relationship business and do a really poor job. They are far from experts with all my plants dying, the metal rusting (ok that one maybe not their fault or did they pick cheap material?), installing the wrong river rocks, and having an irrigation system that only works for 11 months and even when working, the plants still died. Also, as I look back at my bill, they charged a $75 dollar credit card convenience fee....a bit excessive, but that is what I expect from this company. read more

Austin Gardeners is hands down the best service my wife & I have ever received. Quality product (truly, it's unmatched), superb teams, & they go out of their way to make things right and fair. Manuel is a self-made business owner who first was a landscaper himself for years until he decided to open up his own shop and do it the very best. If you're reading this you know how difficult it is to find quality companies and employees from said companies to show up when they say they will, honor their commitments to contracts, and deliver quality service & products. This is what Austin Gardeners brings to the table with them from beginning contract discussions to delivering of services. Do not look anywhere else. We sunk the most we've ever spent into something not including our home into our backyard (hard scape & landscape) and it was daunting, scary, and uneasy. We finished the experience adoring our yard and these people. Thank you Manuel & Austin Gardeners! read more

All that I can say is wow. Seriously stunning work from Austin Gardeners. We wanted a pergola + modern sitting area for our backyard. Joseph came by for our initial consultation and knew exactly how to deliver on our landscape vision. We paid $500 for the design work, which included an itemized breakdown of everything that would be needed to complete the project ($250 of this later went towards the project total). We decided on a cool, new walkway for our front yard, and a raised covered patio area for our back yard. Due to the 2021 shortages, the lead-time to get on their schedule was rough. We first contacted Austin Gardeners in late spring 2021, and the first available slot was in September 2021. The crew arrived on time and got to work right away. They were friendly, professional, and seriously skilled. Everything was created on-site from scratch -- the raised steel planter beds, the concrete pads, the pergola, everything. Midway through the project, we decided to add in new Zoysia grass and have gutters installed, too. The crew lead and the guys were flexible and very responsive to our feedback. Even after the project was completed, the team followed up on most of our fit-and-finish issues. My one critique: we received a very sad-looking lemon ball sedum plant, which we reported a couple of times. It is still sad. Was it worth the wait overall? I would say definitely yes. All things considered we're very happy with the outcome and are enjoying our new outdoor space so much. We highly recommend Austin Gardeners for your next modern refresh project! read more

We had Austin Gardeners completely redesign our backyard just in time for the holidays. The crew worked tirelessly to provide what we requested and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. I still cannot believe this is our back yard; it looks just like a picture from a magazine. Now we don't even have to worry about watering and mowing the back yard! They installed a new fence on top of newly installed synthetic grass that is pet friendly. They also planted all new beds which included uplighting that is gorgeous. Manuel Soto was on time and stayed on budget. He really made everything super easy and fast for us. He has strong communication skill and showed amazing leadership throughout the entire project. He was amazing to work with and I cannot recommend them enough! If you are ever considering them, call them right away! it is 100% worth it. Austin Gardeners (512)845-1531 read more

Like many fellow Austinites, our landscaping was a complete mess after the winter storms this year. I searched Yelp for reviews of the best companies and came across Austin Gardeners. This was one of the best calls I could have made. We are completely thrilled with the service, pricing and quality of the work that they completed this past weekend. Our needs were simple - mostly ground cover and some low plants. Also to help clean up all the oak pollen and add some nice mulch. Joseph came out for the estimate and I had it back within a few hours. The crew arrived on time and ready to work. Marcos was the team lead and he made sure that every detail was checked and rechecked. They communicated with me regularly throughout the process. Joseph, who was the original contact, came by to check on the team and also on my satisfaction. I felt like a valued and respected customer. Given the state of my yard every spring, I am sure that I will utilize their services in the future and also recommend them to the neighborhood. read more

I hired Austin Gardeners for two small projects - laying a concrete slab for a patio and building a shed base. They also had to move irrigation sprinklers to make room for the projects. Carlos, at Austin Gardeners, was great to work with, and his team did excellent work. They came on the day of the appointment and completed everything the same day. The team was professional and cleaned up the place well after finishing the projects. I highly recommend Austin Gardeners for general contract/yard work. read more

I was looking for a custom planter bed for my front yard and found Austin gardeners. The workers came early and prepared on the day of installation. The team communicated very well. They worked hard and did a great job. The custom metal edges are sturdy and modern and the plant selection was wise. I had some crushed limestone added to the planter which matched the front of my house. Towards the end for plant installation, the team got my OK on the look before installing new plants. They were very patient as I made a few adjustments. I felt calm the entire process. The team stayed within the estimate which I appreciated. They cleaned up after and left it looking brand new. I highly highly recommend Austin Gardners to anyone looking for landscaping design work. read more

Absolutely absurd experience trying to work with Austin Gardeners. The epitome of overpromise and underdeliver. I tried 7 times just to get an initial quote from them after they'd already come out and seen the project and they just can't seem to be bothered. Called on 1/13. They were willing to fit me on on Saturday 1/20 - ok, appreciate willing to meet on the weekend. Meet with Carlos, seemingly have a good conversation, am told I will be sent options to consider Monday and a quote by the following Friday. 1st week goes by - nothing 2nd week goes by - nothing, but it is the week of the freeze, so sure. 3rd week Monday - I call, the receptionist puts me on hold to talk to Carlos, says I'll have the quote by EoW and he'll send me the options to look at ASAP. 3rd week goes by - still nothing 4th week - I call again, receptionist calls Carlos and assures me I'll have the quote by end of day today or tomorrow. 2 days go by - still nothing. I call again, assured I'll have quote by end of day. Do not receive anything. Next day - I call again - receptionist says Carlos will send the quote and call within 10 minutes. He does not send me anything nor does he call that day. Next day - call again, receptionist is apologetic, says Carlos is in the office, puts me on hold, and says he'll send me the quote in 5 minutes and call. Does not send me anything nor does he call. 2 hours later - I call, new receptionist apologizes, says I will definitely have it end of day. Can you guess by now whether or not I received it? Of course I didn't. Ultimately, when I finally receive the quote, outside of being for my property, it has little to do with what we talked about and several multiples of what I told them my budget was. It literally felt as if they just made things up. These guys have great reviews and are local. I felt good about the conversation I had with Carlos but I made the mistake of having faith in them and not looking for other quotes and I wasted 5 weeks waiting for them. Shame on me, but shame on them. The lack of professionalism from services in Austin is endemic and Austin Gardeners appears to be no exception. read more

I chose Austin Gardeners to landscape my backyard based on the excellent job they did on my friend's yard a few years ago. Manuel Soto, the owner and landscape architect, designed a stunning layout for my backyard based on CAD files supplied by my pool designer. His crew did all of the work, and the end result is more beautiful than I could have imagined. In addition to how pleased I am with the outcome, the process was smooth and his crew was extremely skilled, courteous, efficient and professional. Much of the landscape hardware was hand-welded on-site. They started the job on time and completed within 3 weeks, just as they had anticipated. The landscape plants that Manuel selected were lovely. I did request replacements for a few of the plants based on my preferences, and they easily made the substitutions where available. My backyard is now an oasis that I never want to leave. I highly recommend Austin Gardeners and I will hire them again the next time I need landscaping work. read more

Manuel came highly recommended through a friend and we couldn't be happier with the finished product. Originally we just wanted to install a deck and fencing, but after hearing all of Manuel's great ideas for improving our space, Manuel was able to put together a far more holistic plan within our defined budget. The team working on our property were exceptional and passionate craftsmen, courteous and responsive to our feedback, and diligent about cleaning up the work site at the end of each day. Three weeks later, we had an amazing personal oasis, complete with a playscape area for our child, artificial turf, custom steel planters and trellis work, smart irrigation system, and a fantastic outdoor kitchen--in addition to our new deck and fencing. At the end of the project, Manuel and team provided easy-to-follow guidance on maintaining our beautiful space, and we couldn't be happier. read more

Very happy with the Landscaping work they did for us. The crew did an excellent job from start to finish, including the clean up. In addition we found the office to be very professional, they were timely with quotes and responses and had no trouble making multiple changes to our quotes based on our evolving needs. Austin Gardeners did a top-notch, high quality job with my modern cabana build. It's a very large structure with an outdoor kitchen, living, and dining areas, a bar, privacy slats, storage and walkways. Any time I had a question, the answered quickly and if there was even the slightest issue, they said, "Don't worry, we'll make it right " Manuel and every crew member were helpful, and responsive. The time line slipped a little, but only because of the omicron surge over the holidays and material shortages. I was kept informed at every step. They absolutely stuck to budget, and the only extra cost was with additional requests of mine with agreed pricing beforehand. They are not the cheapest game in town, but their quality is worth it. read more

After cancelling our first appointment 45 mins before they were scheduled to show, Manuel came out, gave me great ideas for what he envisioned for our yard, he left and I never heard back. I expect my project to cost between $30-45k so it's not like he didn't think my job was worth his time. I'm really not sure why I didn't get a proposal, but I do know that if I have to chase a contractor down just to tell me how much money he wants for my job that it's a pretty good sign of what my experience working with them will be. took 2 weeks for an appointment. they were supposed to come by at 10am but it had rained earlier and at 1040 I called. they said they had to cancel due to the rain and therefore they were backed up. Set it for the next day but I told them I had a window from 1-4pm and that I had to leave at 5. no problem. Said to call on the way as I have dogs in my yard. at 330 I called. young lady said he was there at 2pm and no one was home. said he'd be back at 4. Told her that would be too late and that I was home in the back yard but no one rang the bell. she said he knocked at the door. Told her that was impossible as I have a gate she said it would've been nice if I had told them I had a gate in a rude manner. We had a wonderful experience with Austin Gardeners. We had really let our landscaping "go wild" so I was amazed at the transformation in just a few days. They cleaned up our overgrown plants and trees, cleaned and re-grouted our crumbling walkways, and xeriscaped some areas that we didn't want to keep up with anymore. Several of our neighbors commented on what a great job the crews did and have already contacted the company to get some work done too. We contacted Austin Gardeners in the busy season so it was a week or two before Manuel was able to come out for a quote. But the quote came in the same day as our meeting and they began work within days of signing the contract. All in all, we were impressed both by how quickly the work was done and the final outcome. Now we spend as much time outside as possible to enjoy the scenery. read more

Loved that they called to ask if they could begin the project earlier than expected. They came daily, even in inclement weather and finished early. The crew were very nice, careful not to leave any messes and even took the extra time to decorate the potted plants we already had on our stoop to coordinate with the look of the rest of the yard. They found a drainage issue and creatively and beautifully addressed it during the project. Austin Gardeners provided excellent service to us, and did a fantastic job landscaping our back yard and pool area. Manuel Soto the owner is fantastic to work with. After coming out to review the site as well as what we envisioned for the area, he provided a beautiful design, with full color plans to us, clearly showing the house pool area as well as where all the new trees shrubs and irrigation. Several other landscapers we had called, sent nothing back, but hand written scratched out listing of plants. Compared to our pool builder, and home builder who both gave us nothing but endless head aches, their customer service was outstanding, the office staff was responsive, and they performed all the work in both a professional timely and outstanding matter. They were great to work with, and we are extremely happy with the results. We would highly recommend them. read more

Austin Gardeners was a FANTASTIC experience. We called them on a Friday and Miguel came out next week to build the quote for redoing our front planter. He had a great visual for what we want and some recommendations on improving the curb appeal of our house. He sent us the quote that same evening, and after a few back-and-forths on plants we were quite happy with the very reasonable quote. It seemed expensive at first compared to competitors, but this was going to be built to last and have the exact stone and plants we wanted. We were scheduled for a Friday start date 1 week later. I couldn't be at home for the start time, but the crew confirmed with me the day prior that they would be out around 1030 after picking up materials. I arrived home around 1100, and the deconstruction was well underway. I was greeted by Frank who gave me a quick review of what was done, and what was going to be done that day. It was very reassuring, and I felt like our planter was in great hands. The crew of 4 did in 2 days what would have taken me 2 months. There was concrete and rebar layering, cinder block fortifying, and finally stone laying. It was astounding how quick and efficient they were with allowing the mortar and concrete to dry throughout the process. My wife arrived home after work, and Frank greeted her and discussed the whole project. Again, great communication! The crew left around 7pm, and I felt it necessary to bring out a few celebratory beers for the great work they had done this far. Saturday, the crew came out around 11, and finished the stone laying and BEAUTIFUL topper that we didn't even have a vision for until Miguel mentioned it. We had to leave throughout the day, and the crew needed access to our sprinkler system and garage outlet in the event one of our temperamental outlets shorted (which is did, but only needed a reset). Before we departed we laid out the plants almost exactly as the crew envisioned. We felt totally comfortable leaving our garage open (door locked of course since they didn't need to get inside) for the crew to access those items. We came back around 5:30 and the project was done! All in all, this was superbly better than any experience I could imagine. The price was right, and my back isn't killing me. I CANNOT wait to use Austin Gardeners again for our backyard after we've saved up a few bucks!!! read more
