I was told by the office staff that I was contacted several times by his supervisor in an effort to cancel my appointment. This is an outright lie. I have their number on my phone, and nobody called me. In addition, I received my check-in online yesterday morning (Sunday), so truly nobody called me. I am seriously considering changing doctors, only for this reason. I really like Dr.Gage and would like to keep him as my cardiologist, but this is getting unreasonable and stressing me out for no reason. To make matters worse, I have called his medical assistant several times. When I have been able to get through, the assistant has been very nice. Unfortunately, when no one is available, no one answers and there is no voicemail. This is inappropriate for a cardiologist's office. At the very least, there should be a voicemail set up.

I waited months for my appointment, only to find that the doctor was unable to open Longhorn MRIs during the visit because she doesn't know her access code. She was able to login into longhorn but didn't know how to zoom or view the images, battling with her computer keys. This was very frusterating because why am I here if you cant even open and read MRIs?? I was told I would receive a follow-up once she gained access, but its been 4 weeks and I haven't heard anything. She stated that my EMG results from another provider "chart did not match the summary" and she made an order to go redo it! I sought a second opinion at UT, where I was told the results were, in fact, consistent. She prescribed me medication and warned me that it might cause alertness and difficulty sleeping. However, I experienced the opposite effect and became extremely sleepy and miserable all day. After two weeks of being drowsy, miserable and ignored and chasing, I finally received a response via EMAIL stating that the medication would cause sedation --contradicting what she originally told me with NO further guidance!!!! I asked if she can prescribe me something else?? and its been 2 weeks.. GHOSTED AGAIN. It has now been four weeks, and I still have not received an after-care summary, any update regarding my MRI, or guidance about adjusting the medication. Communication from the office has been a depressing degrading nightmare. The first week was the hardest nobody was answering the phones or calling back, my follow-up appointment was delayed from four to five weeks as a result. It also took nearly two weeks just to receive information about accessing the patient portal, which does not even allow direct messaging with the doctor, you must go through the front desk via email! I noted "prefer not to disclose" under ethnicity on my intake forms, but she asked about the origin of my last name. This made me uncomfortable and makes me wonder if this extreme neglect is due to racism because I do not understand the good reviews. When you are dealing with a medical issue, every single day matters because it could bring you closer to getting better, yet I have now spent 4 weeks being ignored, without guidance, medication, just sitting here wasting time!!!
