3 stars for distinctiveness and an on-par boba experience. I haven't been to Lollicup in many years, but used to go all the time in high school. I tried again today since I've been on a boba kick lately. Being so few boba places in Boulder (or even Colorado) I decided to go since Lollicup has so many custom flavors. The place is up on The Hill and as such is very college-y in atmosphere. There were also a lot of college or high school age people there (makes me feel old). The decorating style is... Busy. Lots of stuff and signs everywhere. I think if I stayed too long I'd have a headache. I had the Thai Milk Tea with boba. Very tasty, very artificial. As all Thai tea, this comes in the bright orange color that is found no where in nature. For some reason it felt even more artificial here. The flavor was quite good though and the boba was well prepared. Nice and chewy, not hard or mushy. Good batch I guess. This drink was super caffeinated! Like run around your house crazy caffeinated. While I do not love that Lollicups drinks are very sugary and not made with fresh ingredients, they are one of the few options for boba and they do offer many drink choices. read more

I've been here more than a few times since my last review and sadly, I must admit (to you all, but mostly to myself because I am in denial) that the quality of the drinks has definitely taken a turn for the worse. I am trying so hard to refuse to believe this, because how can it benefit me to hate a place with boba tea, aloe add-ons, a big selection of board games, and a free foosball table, that's right down the street from a few of my favorite dinner places and thus perfect for after dinner fun? Well, my last jasmine boba tea tasted like someone had drizzled it with honey and then poured a couple of CUPFULS of sugar in the bottom. The one before that (ordered only a few days before, incidentally) was oversteeped to the point of mouth-puckering bitterness. The jasmine tasted stale. Also, the foosball table is getting more and more crooked, and half the board games are missing pieces (sometimes you can find them amongst the detritus of other board games, but don't count on it). One plus: they finally got a working lock for their bathroom door, so I don't get walked in on by super-embarrassed dudes anymore! But really, Lollicup, I want you to be good again. I can't. If the boba is always hard (and flavorless), they don't know what they're doing. I only get tea drinks with boba from this location, always hoping they're having an off day, but that's sadly never the case. They're at least really nice?! I'm so glad Lollicup opened in Boulder! Great location on The Hill too! For those who don't know, Lollicup is the place to go for Bubble Tea or Boba. That's the unique tea drink with little tapoica balls in it. Sounds strange but once you've tried it, chances are you'll get addicted. A tip for those who want variety: try your drink with aloe vera pieces instead of boba, it gives a nice cruncy texture read more

I love this place. It's been a year since I lived in Boulder, and I still reminisce on it fondly. The boba is excellent, as is selection of games. They also have free wifi which is a definite plus around finals (ask for the password, most people don't know you can get it, which makes it a hidden gem of a study place). The food is not phenomenal, but that's not why you go to Lollicup. You go to Lollicup for a nice boba snow, and that is exactly what you get (in any flavor combination you can imagine!). This place is the bomb! I didn't even know that it existed until a friend of me, since I never go to "The Hill". Now I am there on a weekly basis. This place has much more selections than most bubble tea shops. My favorite is the Jasmine Milk Tea and the Strawberry Yogurt Snow. The cool things is that they will also allow you to mix up the flavors as well. So you can get things like, "Mango Passion Snow", or "Vanilla Almond Milk Tea", or even things like "Avocado Yogurt Snow". It's crazy. I also enjoy the coconut jelly sometimes, and the aloe jelly bits are also quite tasty with the drinks. They used to have "Popcorn Chicken" which was quite delicious a while back, but I don't think they offer it anymore. Their snacks are decent, and my favorite is the potstickers and sesame balls (super golden). For those that are on the CU campus, you can sometimes check the coupon books because they periodically will have coupons in there like "free upgrade to a large drink" or "free boba with any drink". read more

I get why this place gets the stars it gets. Their Boba is legit but the girl that was working there today seemed like she did not want to be there and it showed. Passion fruit and Taro snow with boba are both very good. BBQ pork buns are not worth your money. Don't get it. It's probably microwaved stuff. This is one of the only places dedicated to serving bubble tea/boba in Boulder. There are other places that sell boba, but you won't have as big of a variety in terms of customization. However, this is easily my least favorite boba place in all of Colorado. The quality of the boba isn't great; it's often hard and flavorless. The service is ... very inconsistent here, to put it nicely. I've run into quite a few issues here, which always keeps me from coming here, but being the only real boba shop, I have no choice but to come here when friends want boba! Boo. The store is smaller, but there's usually plenty of open seating around. In short, if you're in the mood for boba, this may be your only choice, but don't let my bad experiences keep you from enjoying your gelatinous dessert. I love boba. Lollicup's boba drinks are delicious. However, the wait is a hit-or-miss. At times, I get my drink within a couple of minutes and I'm out the door in a blink. However, there have been times where I've waited an upwards of twenty minutes. My reasoning is: not enough staffed workers. It makes sense, though, since the Boba tea and tapioca culture isn't as known in the very-white Boulder area, and to have a full staff at all times would render no profit. Customer service is super great and the quality is awesome. It's a pretty cool chill out area. This place is convenient as it's on the hill. Stick with the boba drinks, which are good (we had the ginger milk tea). We tried their food for the first time and were underwhelmed. We ordered the pot-stickers - which were 8 for $6 - and despite the photograph that clearly showed them as pan-fried (i.e. crispy on the bottom, but soft and moist on the top), our order came out completely deep fried! Was not at all what we were expecting...and certainly not as advertised. We also had the steamed pork buns (char-sui). These were better, but, like the dumplings, you could tell that they were just prepared from a bag of frozen buns. Way over-priced for what was delivered and served. The Boba tea here is pretty good but mine was too sugary. If you don't like super sweet bubble tea, ask for less sugar. But this also depends on the flavor and who's making it. We ordered 2 different bubble tea, one was a good sweetness and the other was way too sweet. The bubbles are made well, it's got a chewieness to it that I like. The price here is also pretty good, not as expensive as some other establishments. One other negative factor of my experience is how long I waited for my order, I waited about 20min for my order. When I went, there was one person manning the place and a line so I understand why it took so long. But having another person there would definitely solve that probem. read more

Never having been here before, I had the coconut milk tea which is sort of my stand by boba drink. It was....okay? It was so "okay" that I drank about 2/3 of it. I think that is the first time I have abandoned a boba tea. Usually I am turning the straw pointy side up so I can slurp up the dredges from the bottom. Not this time. read more

I've been to a few different lolicups, all in Cali, and this is the first time I've been to one of these shops where they charge extra for boba. No bueno. This place is right across from CU Boulder in a popular area which might be the only reason they're still in business. I've been a couple of times and their boba is always flavorless and hard. Hard enough to make me question if it was even made the day I bought my drink, or if they're sad boba is leftover from the past day (or 2)... The girl behind the counter was fantastically unfriendly and seemed annoyed to even be working there. Not how boba should be made. Go to any pho place for boba and you'll taste the difference. Should be using coconut milk NOT COWS MILK. Should be blending with ice not shaking up ice chunks. Your basically paying for cows milk, flavored powder, ice, boba pearls and in the end you get a watery milky "tea". Just not good. Not even the real deal. Food sucks too. read more

I've been CRAVING bubble tea for months and was so excited to find somewhere with boba in Boulder. Ready to experience those tasty, chewy tapioca pearls and the sweet, creamy goodness of milk tea, I abandoned my fears of the Hill and bravely ventured above. When I arrived, I was disappointed to see how dimly-lit inside it was and how it seemed not to be kept together so well. There was a wall of Asian snacks that felt like a trip back to childhood, and I browsed as I waited in line to order. I was greeted without a smile and I quickly ordered my oolong milk tea and found a spot to sit down. There is limited seating inside, although the place seemed to be swarming with college students. I still held out hope, but was disappointed when I finally took a sip and my milk tea seemed spiked with sugar and my boba tasted like it had been sitting in a freezer for a while before it was served to me. It may have just been my experience coming in at a busy time, but I had higher hopes for Lollicup. This place could help quench a boba craving, but definitely doesn't satisfy. Perhaps I've just been spoiled by all of the great boba shops in Southern California, but this Lollicup just isn't good. I ordered a large passion fruit green tea with boba and they were quite stingy on the boba. The tea itself tasted decent, but the boba wasn't sweet and had a herbal taste to it, which is not normal. I also got popcorn chicken thinking that it would be a taiwanese style like most boba shops have and it was just normal popcorn chicken with a side of ranch. It tasted okay for regular popcorn chicken (a bit salty), but it just wasn't what I was expecting. Why isn't there a decent boba shop here in Colorado yet?? read more

Despite the occasional slow service Lollicup is the BEST PLACE EVER FOR BOBA FANATICS! I have been a loyal customer for 4 years now and I have introduced the wonders of these weird (yet addicting!) drinks to all of my friends. Almost every time I go I am asked by someone what I am drinking or what I ordered so here are my recommendations from a true Lollicup pro: :) (btw I order boba with all of these of course!) 1)Bobo milk tea snow(otherwise know as the royal milk tea), a classic that is kicked up a notch when made into a snow 2)Thai milk tea snow, slightly sweeteer than the royal milk tea but still just as good 3)Lavender milk tea snow, a rising favorite of mine that is not too sweet 4)Taro milk tea snow, a very aquired taste but is a classic (less sweet than the other milk teas) 5)Green(or black) mango tea, refreshing and always enjoyable! :) read more
