We like the location in our town too, its in a hub of many other food places so when we grab a ramen or indian food nearby, its so easy to tag these delicious drinks up onto our pickup routine for delicious items. My colleague knew just what to do and we ended up at Creature Comforts. The Yuzu Espresso Tonic was absolutely exactly what I needed, so well made and so flavorful. The vibes in here are great as well. Relaxed but social, and positioned in a great area of Boulder (let's be real most areas of Boulder are great). I also got a late breakfast with a greek yogurt that was tasty and generous portion as well. Highly recommend, and I'd even go out of my way to seek this one out next time I'm in Boulder for work. My colleagues and I came here post-hike, looking for a coffee and some fuel and that's exactly what we got. I went with the Ube latte, m one of the specials, and it was so good! It had the perfect balance of sweetness, creaminess, and nuttiness thanks to the Ube flavor. My friend got the honey latte, which I tried and was also very delicious. The menu has lots of creative options. Another colleague I was with got the espresso tonic with Yuzu, which was another winner. We also tried some of the protein balls which were surprisingly delicious! The menu prices are slightly high, but because they are in no tipping café it evens out pretty nicely. If I'm ever back in Boulder, I will absolutely come back here!

I think the coffee was about $6.50 after tax and the matcha w almond milk was almost $8.50 with the $1 up charge and tax. The cups were cute and the store was adorable with all the pinks and pastels. Overall the matcha and coffee were both very yummy - we did not try the boba. But at the price they are, this will have to be a seldom treat.

One day my little sister noticed that the owner, Qingqing, offers tea classes, and we decided to try one. It ended up being such a wonderful experience. Qingqing is a tea master from China and I have never met someone so passionate about sharing her culture. Through her classes I've learned so much about traditional Chinese tea, and it has honestly opened up a whole new interest for me. If you're coming for boba, you'll find delicious drinks. But if you're interested in traditional tea, I genuinely challenge you to find a better traditional Chinese tea experience anywhere in the Denver metro area. Their loose-leaf Oriental Beauty tea tastes the way a honeysuckle flower smells -- it's incredible. Thought it went out of business. Decided to go into the nearby Pho restaurant, Pho Kitchen, which was beautiful. Turned out this was a brother shop on the first floor and Tea shop on the 2nd floor. Tea shop looked abandoned as the greenhouse side felt like you were walking into a sauna when you open the door. Fortunately, we were able to meet at the Pho Kitchen and order our drinks. Boba drinks were pretty good and the wait staff were patient with us as we were a large group. Definitely come to the first floor as this place is very inviting and not so busy during the afternoon, even on a Sunday.

I was so delighted to hear that a new matcha place was opening up in Boulder right before my trip…read more I made a note on my list to visit sometime during my week in Colorado. The small matcha store is right close to UC Boulder and I strolled in around 2:30 PM to grab a drink before returning to my hotel. There was a small line when I got there and other people were peering curiously at the menu, which had so many different options - not just matcha drinks, but soft serve too! I didn't have to wait too long to order and decided to go with something a little more decadent than I'd normally go for: a matcha float with mochi. I went to the back of the store to wait for my order and noted a few nice things: a station to throw away garbage, to get straws, and even some cane syrup and vanilla syrup for those who wanted to adjust their drinks a little more. As I was waiting for my order, I overheard the baristas talking about putting a little matcha powder on a drink "to make it a little cuter." It turned out to be my drink! And it did indeed make it a little cuter. I took a seat at an empty table to enjoy my drink. Even though the establishment is next to a university, the environment was fairly calm and quiet. It seems a lot of students like to go there to grab a drink or soft serve and chat with their friends or work on group projects. It's also nice that the store opens until late. I was hoping to visit again another night to grab a soft serve, but I unfortunately didn't have the time. The drink itself was okay. I felt the drink was very milky and the matcha didn't have that strong, earthy flavor that I wanted even with the extra matcha powder on top. The mochi was also very disappointing. The mochi was hard and not very chewy, probably after being in such close proximity to the cold soft serve that topped the matcha float. I'm not sure I'd come back for the matcha drinks again, but I'm still curious about the soft serve, so I might visit again in the future.
