There was one person working and another person went to Costco to get more oat milk as they ran out. I really love the matcha almond milk with the taro cream. I tried the other drink we ordered which was Viet coffee with milk and egg cream, which was a little salted. We both got 25% ice and 25% sugar. The pricing was a bit steep for the small drinks. I think the coffee was about $6.50 after tax and the matcha w almond milk was almost $8.50 with the $1 up charge and tax. The cups were cute and the store was adorable with all the pinks and pastels. Overall the matcha and coffee were both very yummy - we did not try the boba. But at the price they are, this will have to be a seldom treat.

Basically all dedicated to the tea operation and you can fit a few people in the entryway/at the register. From talking to pay to getting the drink it was literally about three minutes. May be out of the norm but I was taken aback. "This is MY order?" A rarity these days for sure so it was a pleasant surprise. Knew what I wanted to order but the staff was very accommodating with any questions. Friendly and as previously mentioned speedy. Not in the area a lot but I would certainly pop in here again. Good menu variety, priced fairly, friendly and speedy service. Just wish the inside was a bit larger but it's a fair trade off for the service.

My father and I were really craving boba and when we went inside, we saw three employees working away... which is great; however, we were waiting for maybe about 5 minutes and not one greated us, or maybe tell us they woyld be right with us.... we weren't even acknowledged. Then I heard one of their employee's speak to possibly a friend of hers who walked inside the shop about 7 minutes after we were inside, and she began having a great conversation, laughing with him, etc. so I thought we'd get lucky and be acknowledged after he'd leave. We were waiting for another minute, and she got back to work making drinks. I looked at my father and he looked at me shocked about what was happening. I then said in a raised voice, so they could hear me over their loud blenders, "Hello, we are ready." I saw one worker, turn her head to our direction, and there was no acknowledgement and ignored us. I then began literally waiving my hands in the air, then arms to them and nothing. Then finally I raised my voice to say we were ready and one of them turned around to tell us, "We are busy, doing other drinks!" So my father and I looked at each other in disbelief and left the shop empty handed and quite disappointed. Instead, we went across the street to a local Pho restaurant in their busy place and ordered the boba we originally wanted. We loved them way more than Shiba Boba because we felt acknowledged and they helped us with our drinks. Maybe Shiba Boba is getting too popular and is forgetting what is keeping them employed.

Usually, it's pretty good to satisfy a boba craving. My new favorite is the Oreo puff cream (no boba) and it's so creamy and tasty. It isn't overly sweet. When done right, the bubble waffles are really good with the cream cheese dip that they offer. Overall a nice dessert place with plentiful parking spaces available.

The drinks are great (I highly recommend the Purple Galaxy), but what really makes this place special is the tea culture that Qingqing shares with the community. One day my little sister noticed that the owner, Qingqing, offers tea classes, and we decided to try one. It ended up being such a wonderful experience. Qingqing is a tea master from China and I have never met someone so passionate about sharing her culture. Through her classes I've learned so much about traditional Chinese tea, and it has honestly opened up a whole new interest for me. If you're coming for boba, you'll find delicious drinks. But if you're interested in traditional tea, I genuinely challenge you to find a better traditional Chinese tea experience anywhere in the Denver metro area. Their loose-leaf Oriental Beauty tea tastes the way a honeysuckle flower smells -- it's incredible. Qingqing and her husband Long are incredibly kind people, and their shop adds something really special to the Lafayette community.

Black Milk Tea, Less Ice, 50% Sweet w/ Honey Boba ($7.25) - The tea is of the warm spiced variety that I've encountered only in a couple of boba shops, tasting kind of like cinnamon and cloves. It's a little weak in flavor, a bit on the watery side in taste even with the addition of non-dairy creamer. Half sweet is nice though, and same with the ice level. It doesn't otherwise stand out much. The way Teamate serves the boba is interesting, and not in a good way. They pre-portion out the boba in cups, rather than scooping to order. Who knows how long the pearls sit in those cups before being served. The texture reminds me of the microwave boba packets, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. In this case, however, there's some real inconsistency in texture. The pearls are generally lumpy, but some are way softer, approaching mushy, and some are way more firm. Mixed boba batches? I'm not sure. They're not all bad though, probably half of the pearls are nicely bouncy and chewy. Milk Tea Rating: 3.5/5 Boba Rating: 2/5 I found the drink from Tea Mate to be mediocre, especially since they don't treat the boba properly. I wouldn't visit again. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms
