Found Lola's thru Groupon. I tried going on a Monday with a group of friends for dinner. FYI: closed on Mondays. Well c'est la vie. Ended up trying again on a Saturday to get an early dinner with a friend. The place was pretty empty when we got there but definitely filled up by the time we were finished. Now usually, the first time I go to Peruvian restaurants I will go for the lomo saltado to judge the quality of the food, however this time I decided to forgo the lomo and go for the seco. YUMMY!!!! brought back childhood memories of my Peruvian babysitter's house. and bonus: my leftovers were still super tasty the next day!! I was feeling adventurous so I had the maracuya as my drink (instead of my usual Inka Kola) which was also good. lucky for me, my friend ended up getting the lomo saltado and let me try some. tasted great! The seasoning was spot on to the plate my tia (from Peru) made for me in the past! Since we were pretty much the only ones at the restaurant service was good. Like most Peruvian restaurants, the food did take some time to come out (but I didn't really notice as I was catching up with said friend and we were gabbing the whole time!) Very good Peruvian food. I would know I grew up on the stuff. I've also been to Peru 12 times so I know good Peruvian cuisine when I taste it. Very authentic food at this restaurant. I've been 3 times so far and I have to say their Seco is the best item. Next time I will try their Ceviche and a different entree. Things I like - Service is excellent - Food is excellent - Beer and wine fairly priced - Good location - Nice decor (compared to other Peruvian restaurants) - Great prices for lunch - Great Music (reminds me of my trips to peru and my childhood) Things that need work - Prices are too high for some dinner entrees - They need more selection Overall I really like this place it's always a treat for dinner and the service people are so nice. Meh.. It was ok, nothing to write home a out. It started great, nice host and wait staff. Warm rolls with delicious dipping sauces were awesome, and they didn't hesitate when we asked for more. THE MOST DISGUSTING AND EMBARRASSING PERUVIAN RESTAURANT!! I am Peruvian I brought my two Americas girlfriends for a nice lunch and for them to get to know the amazing Peruvian food. We order their lunch special 14.99 and 12.99 This restaurant advertise appetizer,main course and dessert. Their plates sizes were ridiculous small and the deserts were the most disgusting and embarrassing thing, we order chocolate cake, chocolate chip ice cream, and flan (by the way this is not Peruvian traditional dessert) The waiter-manager, who said was in charge of the restaurant brought us a tiny piece of chocolate cake, and half size of flan!!! Literally from a round cup they cut it in two and give us one half, and put whip cream for us not to notes that they did that. I ask the waiter about this and he said the owner had give this order because it was a lunch special!! So that means they may give us a Left over from some else or if they advertise a banana as a dessert keep in mind they will give you a half of a banana... For a second I though this can not be real not even in a third world country restaurant they will give you left overs. Also we bought a coupon from Yelp $10 for $20 they didn't want to honored because they say was only for dinner and not for lunch or any other offer which never refers on the coupon NOT TO USED ON LUNCH SPECIAL, It doesn't say that on the fine print!! This is a clear example of what you can get when you go to LATINO AMERICA and dine in the wrong place, but the sad news this happen in Glendale, California!!! The food was not even good!! I can't believe I've lived in Glendale for over five years and never eaten here before!! I had friends visiting from out of town and they zeroed right in on Lola's - and it was wonderful. Maurice was a delight, and everything from the sangria to the ceviche to the roasted pork special was exquisite. I am now officially a fan of Peruvian food. Our server was so great. We told her we were first timers, and she was great giving us recommendations. I got the Arroz Verde Con Pollo, which is a chicken and rice dish with a cilantro sauce/seasoning, and loved it. There's just so much flavor. I tried my friend's food, but I'm convinced mine was the best. I also got the maracuya drink which is a made from purple corn, pineapple juice, and spices; to quote my friend, it tastes like Christmas. The restaurant is cute and quaint; it can probably only fit 20-30. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. I'm very glad that my friends and I decided to give it a try. I will be back. read more

Great for lunch, the specials range from $7-$10 a plate, special/ lunch menu price on average, otherwise, it is $16-$22 a plate (appetizers as an exception). The portions are generous, the food is good, however, this place is a little pricey on my end. This place is fantastic. They give you complimentary bread sticks and Peruvian salsas which are amazing. The wait staff are extremely kind and helpful. Checked this place out after being recommended my in-laws. Not sure if it was a joke but this place was totally lackluster for service. First off they ran out of Pollo a la Brasa. Not sure how higher end restaurants run out of food, so I go for steak instead. The bread sticks were brought out a moment too early but I was so hungry waiting for food I didnt seem to mind at that point. My in-law's wife did a great selection on the pinot-noir which was the highlight of the night, hence the 2 stars. Our food was out after 20 minutes of order and several conversations and a bottle of wine. There is a wood fired oven we sat next to which ocassionally was fired up but I never saw it put to good use since they had no pollo a la brasa. I had an order of steak/fries/ and a mountain of what was steamed rice with a touch of flavoring. It was ok. The steak portion was on the short side since I can score a better steak just about anywhere else for the money. NO STEAK SAUCE! so Ketchup it was. Long story short, I would definitely not be stopping by since for that kinda money I could feed a village on Pollo Inka instead. What you get here is the experience of what would be Peruvian food. Which by taste is close but by portion they are way off. Having had authentic Peruvian food from a Peruvian family this is a commendable shot. You are better off going down the street if you stomach a better bigger diner. read more

The Lunch Menu is terrific My favorites are the Basil Spinach $8 ( a safe 1st choice if you are not familiar with the food) and the Shrimp Stir Fry $9 is really good. I really like this place. Food is really good. I'm no expert on Peruvian food but it seems to have some sort of an Asian influnce in it. Kinda like Jackie Chan meets the Incas! Anyways, we had the Cerviche to start. The all fish option. Really yummy. Then we had the Lomo Saltado (forgive my spelling), which is Beef with french fries with an excellent sauce and some rice on the side, the Chicken Chaufa which is like Chicken Fried Rice and the Tallarin Saltado which reminded of a Chow Mein dish. They do have lots of other Peruvian dishes that I can't remember that I would love to try the next time I come in. We used some sort of a Groupon type certificate and the server never once flinched and gave us great service. Very genuine. You know, how sometimes when you use a coupon or certificate, the server just rolls their eyes and immediately assumes that their tip is now non existent. I understand as some people do not tip on the original amount. BUT, if you provide great or greater service, you will be rewarded. The place is cozy and warm. Great experience overall. read more

I tried this place twice this week and ordered different food from the lunch menu and loved it! You must have the "Chicha Morada" best drink on earth. Non alcoholic, full of flavors. My friend and I tried the Polllo Al Vino with mashed potatoes and rice and the Seco with rice, so delicious, tender and perfect portions for lunch. I also tried the shrimp Saltado with fries and rice earlier in the week, and no complains whatsoever. If you are a Groupon member, take advantage of the deal they have for Lola's. i tried the lomo saltado as they recommended their signature dish. it was huge, but mostly were the fries and onions.......also the steak wasnt tender at all......this is kind of disappointed. taste was just ok. price is way too expensive cos its 16.99. i think the inka places are definitely better than here, both taste and price. read more

He thought his food was pretty good, and I thought it was absolutely delicious. The chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert was pretty good, but too much frosting that we couldn't eat. Horrible service! Food was nasty. Never returning here. Came here for a Valentine's Day dinner at 4:30 with four ppl for Valentine's Day. Waitress didn't greet us nicely, she hurried us to order, didn't add one of our orders so I shared a plate, didn't have enough waters and bread on the table. We had to ask her three times for the water and bread. First batch of bread was stale until they made more. The juice tasted like juice from concentrate. She lied and said it was made there. The chicken was bland. The steak was hard. The quinoa chicken was bland. Food was cold. Waitress never checked in on us or refilled our waters. Ended up with the runs after my meal. She wished us a happy v day at the end probably for a good tip. I had to ask the bus boy to help us. Lazy service. Bland cold food. This place could have more potential with better cooks and staff that actually look like they want to be there. The only good thing was the music. Don't believe the good ratings.
