Sweet Plantain bowl
Keshia C.

Very good! I enjoy my sweet plantain bowl and I'm not even a fan of sweet plantains. Will definitely go back again.

Small portions, very tasty

Great service, atmosphere, the food was fresh and tasty. However the portion is small and light, ideal spot for cocktails, and apps or a quick lunch.

Mole Enchilada: $17.95
Harris L.

BLUF: Old food. Our first experience with Lola's Mexican Restaurant could have been much better. We ordered two dishes to go. Most of the food we received seemed to be at least a day old. Mole Enchilada: $17.95 ($19.54 with tax). The chicken was flavorless and very dry. The mole on the chicken had also dried to a powder-like substance, so the mole barely helped the chicken. The rice was dry and somewhat hard, and the black bean sauce had congealed into a jelly-like substance. Shrimp Burrito: $15.95 ($17.37) with tax. Over-salted. The shrimp was fresh, but the rice and black beans were the same as other dish -- the rice was dry and somewhat hard, and the black bean sauce had congealed into a jelly-like substance. Service was polite. There is a 3% cash discount.

This place was an amazing and unexpected surprise. We arrived 90 minutes before they closed but they were kind enough to let us in and order. The waiter was very friendly and fun to chat with. With half my party only being able to speak spanish it was a great surprise when the waiter spoke spanish as well. We ordered a few drinks and all got chicken enchiladas de mole. The enchiladas were amazing we did wish that there was more mole sauce on it and the rice a little softer but overall it was really delicious 4.5/5. I didn't enjoy the mango margarita as much 3/5 but the mojito was nice 4/5. The mojito could have used less mint leaves as it felt like a lot. The restaurant itself was nice and fun. They had space inside and outside to eat. They had a little bar not that you can sit there but to view them making the drinks which was fun. lol

The thing I liked the most. Why is there broccoli in the taco bowl. Missing was jalapeño and sour cream. Plus the place was freezing
Precious J.

The drinks were on point but it was cold inside. My taco bowl did not need broccoli and huge slices of carrots. Missing was jalapeño and sour cream,

Carne Asada .. no beans w/tortillas. Rated 7/10. Meat was very good, not dry but more like sliced roast beef.

Food overall is very good for the price. An appetizer and 2 entree came to $50 (no beverage). Guacamole and chips appetizer rates 6/10 was small and missing the tomatoes onions and jalapeños. Desperately need salt and lime. Carne asada rated 8/10 was sliced very thin but tender and juicy. Rice was cooked perfectly not mushy. It comes with tortillas grilled onions, guacamole, and beans. (I'm not a fan of beans so I ordered without). The Molé rates 8/10. The molè sauce was more on the sweet side, which was not what we expected, and also missing some spice. The seating is limited on the inside but they do offer outside dining. The kitchen closes at 7pm sharp, felt a bit rushed. They have a full bar and some interesting cocktails but we did not have time to try any like the kitchen they close at 7. We'll surly be back for take out.

They bought me a big grocery store looking salsa. Def was def Pico De Gallo & Chips which they bought after.

A few quick things about this spot. Ambiance: Open, spacious and bright. Bathrooms was private and clean which is always a plus. Typical commercial Mexican flair, nothing really stood out. Service: I feel like we had a waiter who just started working with them yesterday! It's like he didn't "get it". Like it's ok to swap salsa for pico de gallo, lemon (the yellow one) is what I wanted with my water not lime. And it's weird to watch us eat while you lean on the bar. I'm not sure what was going on because he came to us about 20 minutes into our meal and said his shift was ending and then never left. Weird... Food: Who shreds the fish in a "grilled" fish taco? They do!! The lettuce didn't look fresh either and I had pieces of the lettuce core on my taco. It was tasteless too, I had to add so much hot sauce and that mayo looking sauce to eat it. Hopefully this place gets better but for now, skip this spot.

Came here for dinner with my husband. We ordered the quasidilla as an appetizer. It was good but very small. The list of appetizers isn't that big. I was surprised child and salsa was a paid appetizer...usually Mexican restaurants give that complimentary. I had the chimichangas and my husband had the pork chops. The extra little pico de gallo for my husband was $2 extra. The portions were a nice size - it wasn't too filling. The service was pretty good. It's a cute spot with nice decor. The music was a little loud but it was Friday night. It was pretty busy while we were there. Definitely a cute little spot, I'd go back.

We came for a quick lunch run ... I would drive by and its so inviting i said why not . Its very pretty inside . Girly even . We didn't order much (some guac / chicken tacos) but I do remember their lemonade was so refreshing, Not overly sweet . but I couldn't really stay to try the menu but what we had was decent . My waiter also didn't speak english, or even really understood us - Unsure ig i will return .... Maybe not intentionally- But Im also not really a huge mexican lover and I already have a spot but it's definitely worth a try if you're in the area .

I would have given this place more stars if the servings were bigger and the drinks were stronger. The ambiance is nice for a local feel and the staff is friendly. It's a good place for a small bite to eat maybe a snack. They should have different liquors and add more to their dishes. I had shrimp quesadilla and it was sort of flat and should have come with rice on the side since it was not a huge plate of food. Otherwise, only recommend if you're eating here then actually going to a real restaurant to fill up after.

So very pleased with the addition of Lola's to my neighborhood! The food is made fresh, and the flavors are quite good! It's not the bestest Mexican food i've ever had, but the taste and flavors are there, the service is friendly, the ingredients are quality, and i didn't need to add much salsa. I personally recommend: - ground beef burrito - not explicitly on the menu, but i ordered it over the phone w/ no problems. *Spoiler alert -- it was GREAT! Nicely seasoned, and wrapped with love - the shrimp burrito - the chicken quesadilla (this is a hit w/ my 2-year-old) - the side of yellow rice & black bean (tasty, and the beans are soft enough for my 8-month old) - camarones al ajillo - just enough garlic to have you licking your fingers! After ordering takeout from here 3 times already, i must say i'm a local fan. Def recommend Lola's for when you want good Mexican food that doesn't make you feel heavy. And my whole family enjoys it!

Our reservation was for 8:30pm, but we arrived early and Alejandra, the hostess, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Even though she was ready to seat us, we decided to hang at the bar until the rest of our party arrived and that was the perfect move. Alkarys behind the bar was top-tier. She recommended the Siempre Reposado, and let me tell you... smooth, clean, dangerously good. If you're into tequila, that's a must. Now let's talk about the food. We ordered the quesadilla, rajas, tamales, tacos, and the queso fundido and every single dish hit. The queso fundido came out bubbling, rich, perfectly melted with that pull you want when you scoop it up. The tamales were moist and packed with flavor, wrapped beautifully and clearly made with care. The rajas had that perfect balance of roasted pepper sweetness and savory depth. The tacos? Authentic, well-seasoned, and layered with flavor, no shortcuts. Even the quesadilla stood out, crispy on the outside with that perfectly melted interior. Everything felt traditional, elevated but still true to its roots. You can taste the authenticity. Service was attentive without being overbearing, the ambiance was super casual and laid back, the kind of Brooklyn spot you pull up to for a real dinner experience, not just a quick bite. Highly recommend this place if you're out and about in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back for the tequila, the queso fundido, and round two of those tacos. I'm gonna try eating at the bar to check out the spot in the front of the house.

4.4 and rounded up. Ambiance 4 stars…read more Food 5 stars. Service 4.3 stars. AMBIANCE: Walking to the restaurant from the subway, it's located on an unassuming block at the corner of 4th St and Havemeyer in Williamsburg, front of store doesn't particularly stand out. Walking in they've decorated with creative, crafty (in a good way) touches--the multitude of ropes draped from the ceiling add dimension to the ceiling and the bar back wall is composed of wood pieces forming a multi-colored herringbone pattern. Textured glass pendant lights hanging from the ceiling throw mini geometric patterns across the dark walls, and vibrant canvas artworks add pictorial interest along the walls. FOOD: YUM. I can see why this place was jam packed on a Saturday night, and reservations are needed. Strong recommendation for their tasting menu at $58 pp, what a delightful meal! 8 sharing dishes and 3 desserts were perfect for a party of five, and drinks are separate though you can add a cocktail pairing for $47. For each main they provide a serving per person, and the desserts are shared. I came hungry and was so full by the end of the meal--everything was delicious! - grapefruit guacamole w/house-made chips: the grapefruit chunks were "meaty" and surprisingly went really well with the guac, it added a different citrus element than the usual lime. Comes with a small bowl of maybe 6-7 chips and we asked for two chips refills since the chips to guac and salsa ratio was low. - spicy faroe islands' salmon tartar: tasty and I liked the latin flavors and corn, snow peas, a touch of wasabi. Flavors of the sesame-soy-truffle-lemon vin and crema got a little muddled. Relatively more "generic" dish of the evening though I was here for it! Any dish with fresh tender salmon, I can't complain. - blue crab and carrot tostada, generous shredded crab salad on top of freshly crisp blue corn tortilla. Topped with pumpkin seeds, dill, cilantro, and saffron-orange aioli. - three cheese & artichoke 'queso fundido': served in a very hot ceramic pot and super melty and delicious, eaten with the fluffy grilled pita and green apple slices + salsa. One of the top picks of the evening. - roasted bone marrow and chorizo, served as tacos with fresh blue corn tortillas, and added a sprinkle of pickled onions--does that sound amazing? Bc it was AAHMAZING. - spicy chipotle-guajillo shimp 'diablo' (not spicy): served with pumpkin tortillas and three accompaniments on the side--mushroom chile crisp, horseradish crema, celery 'salsa macha". Part 2 to make your own tacos was another hit! Our entire table agreed if they sold the sauce for the shrimp we'd all buy it. - heritage pork osso bucco 'carnitas' with Fall-spiced black mole, sour cherry mostardo, calabrian chile pesto: cue drooling now. This part 3 of the tacos was served on pumpkin tortillas; the meat was practically falling off the bone, tender, juicy and flavorful. - buffalo-style com 'elote: sooo good too! A little messier to eat since it comes drizzled with spicy hot sauce butter, feta, lime aioli, cilantro, though totally worth it! - Desserts: --green tea matcha churros: comes with two little pots of spiced mexican chocolate & passion fruit sauce. Warm, sugary and crisp without being too sweet. --pumpkin spiced-vanilla flan: topped with sour cherries, cocoa nibs & toasted seed 'trail mix", if you love flan you'll love this, so smooth and creamy with a bit of crunch and tang from the cherries. --pistachio tres leches cake with cream cheese frosting, raspberry, using an olive oil cake: we all agreed this was probably the best tres leches we've ever had. The pistachio nuttiness and the creaminess from the milks paired well. SERVICE: Very friendly and attentive service though it was very loud in the restaurant and they had to really shout. There was a delay in the middle of our meal I think bc kitchen was slammed, after the entree we waited about 35 min for our desserts. Considering they limited the seating to 2 hours and about half of our party arrived 20 min late, and accounting for the long wait pre-dessert, they did us solid by extending our table time by about an hour in total. Also great that they brought the first dessert out with a candle for my friend's birthday.

The eggs are cooked perfectly, soft and fluffy, and the tater tots add a nice crunch, although I would not mind if they were even a little crunchier. They're already better than most places I've been. The sausage was nice and flavorful, although I do wish there was a little more, as I felt like it got a little lost in the rest of the burrito. Overall, this is a very cohesive burrito with all the components working very well together. I like their take-out system.
