Omg when can we go again?!!! This has been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the city , definitely for Brooklyn though my number 1 and 2 are in Manhattan. Food: 5/5 legit loved everything that I had the meat was well seasoned and everything was nice and fresh, I especially love all the guac and fixings we got on the side absolutely delicious! Service: 5/5 I was in a bit of a rush and they were able to give us somewhat speedy service and were super friends Drinks also 5/5 I need to cone back here for happy hour! Ambiance 4/5: I think the inside was beautiful but a bit in the smaller side so I cant imagine how it is when they are very busy Overall a great place for a date night or to catch some drinks with the gworlssss.
Come for the aesthetic...and that's about it. Lola's is such a cute addition to Flatbush with colorful decor, providing a great place to take photos for social media and a good place to grab drinks during dinner. I've visited three times, trying to give them a chance at winning me over, but can't find anything stand-out about this restaurant other than the atmosphere. The price is pretty high for the amount of food and quality you get, and the food itself isn't that flavorful. This most recent visit I had opted for the mole enchiladas and there weren't any stand out flavors other than sweet. The staff was the redeeming point, always checking in to see if anything was needed and not rushing you even if closing time was approaching. Being in Brooklyn and having plenty of Mexican restaurants at our disposal, it's really hard for me to justify dining here when I can get better value and stronger flavors elsewhere.
BLUF: Old food. Our first experience with Lola's Mexican Restaurant could have been much better. We ordered two dishes to go. Most of the food we received seemed to be at least a day old. Mole Enchilada: $17.95 ($19.54 with tax). The chicken was flavorless and very dry. The mole on the chicken had also dried to a powder-like substance, so the mole barely helped the chicken. The rice was dry and somewhat hard, and the black bean sauce had congealed into a jelly-like substance. Shrimp Burrito: $15.95 ($17.37) with tax. Over-salted. The shrimp was fresh, but the rice and black beans were the same as other dish -- the rice was dry and somewhat hard, and the black bean sauce had congealed into a jelly-like substance. Service was polite. There is a 3% cash discount.
This place was an amazing and unexpected surprise. We arrived 90 minutes before they closed but they were kind enough to let us in and order. The waiter was very friendly and fun to chat with. With half my party only being able to speak spanish it was a great surprise when the waiter spoke spanish as well. We ordered a few drinks and all got chicken enchiladas de mole. The enchiladas were amazing we did wish that there was more mole sauce on it and the rice a little softer but overall it was really delicious 4.5/5. I didn't enjoy the mango margarita as much 3/5 but the mojito was nice 4/5. The mojito could have used less mint leaves as it felt like a lot. The restaurant itself was nice and fun. They had space inside and outside to eat. They had a little bar not that you can sit there but to view them making the drinks which was fun. lol
Very good! I enjoy my sweet plantain bowl and I'm not even a fan of sweet plantains. Will definitely go back again.
Great service, atmosphere, the food was fresh and tasty. However the portion is small and light, ideal spot for cocktails, and apps or a quick lunch.
Food overall is very good for the price. An appetizer and 2 entree came to $50 (no beverage). Guacamole and chips appetizer rates 6/10 was small and missing the tomatoes onions and jalapeños. Desperately need salt and lime. Carne asada rated 8/10 was sliced very thin but tender and juicy. Rice was cooked perfectly not mushy. It comes with tortillas grilled onions, guacamole, and beans. (I'm not a fan of beans so I ordered without). The Molé rates 8/10. The molè sauce was more on the sweet side, which was not what we expected, and also missing some spice. The seating is limited on the inside but they do offer outside dining. The kitchen closes at 7pm sharp, felt a bit rushed. They have a full bar and some interesting cocktails but we did not have time to try any like the kitchen they close at 7. We'll surly be back for take out.
A few quick things about this spot. Ambiance: Open, spacious and bright. Bathrooms was private and clean which is always a plus. Typical commercial Mexican flair, nothing really stood out. Service: I feel like we had a waiter who just started working with them yesterday! It's like he didn't "get it". Like it's ok to swap salsa for pico de gallo, lemon (the yellow one) is what I wanted with my water not lime. And it's weird to watch us eat while you lean on the bar. I'm not sure what was going on because he came to us about 20 minutes into our meal and said his shift was ending and then never left. Weird... Food: Who shreds the fish in a "grilled" fish taco? They do!! The lettuce didn't look fresh either and I had pieces of the lettuce core on my taco. It was tasteless too, I had to add so much hot sauce and that mayo looking sauce to eat it. Hopefully this place gets better but for now, skip this spot.
The drinks were on point but it was cold inside. My taco bowl did not need broccoli and huge slices of carrots. Missing was jalapeño and sour cream,
Came here for dinner with my husband. We ordered the quasidilla as an appetizer. It was good but very small. The list of appetizers isn't that big. I was surprised child and salsa was a paid appetizer...usually Mexican restaurants give that complimentary. I had the chimichangas and my husband had the pork chops. The extra little pico de gallo for my husband was $2 extra. The portions were a nice size - it wasn't too filling. The service was pretty good. It's a cute spot with nice decor. The music was a little loud but it was Friday night. It was pretty busy while we were there. Definitely a cute little spot, I'd go back.
We came for a quick lunch run ... I would drive by and its so inviting i said why not . Its very pretty inside . Girly even . We didn't order much (some guac / chicken tacos) but I do remember their lemonade was so refreshing, Not overly sweet . but I couldn't really stay to try the menu but what we had was decent . My waiter also didn't speak english, or even really understood us - Unsure ig i will return .... Maybe not intentionally- But Im also not really a huge mexican lover and I already have a spot but it's definitely worth a try if you're in the area .
So very pleased with the addition of Lola's to my neighborhood! The food is made fresh, and the flavors are quite good! It's not the bestest Mexican food i've ever had, but the taste and flavors are there, the service is friendly, the ingredients are quality, and i didn't need to add much salsa. I personally recommend: - ground beef burrito - not explicitly on the menu, but i ordered it over the phone w/ no problems. *Spoiler alert -- it was GREAT! Nicely seasoned, and wrapped with love - the shrimp burrito - the chicken quesadilla (this is a hit w/ my 2-year-old) - the side of yellow rice & black bean (tasty, and the beans are soft enough for my 8-month old) - camarones al ajillo - just enough garlic to have you licking your fingers! After ordering takeout from here 3 times already, i must say i'm a local fan. Def recommend Lola's for when you want good Mexican food that doesn't make you feel heavy. And my whole family enjoys it!

This neighborhood is sorely lacking a good Mexican restaurant. Sadly, the ones that are really close by produce really bland dishes. Therefore, I did a bigger search and found Lola's Mexican restaurant on Flatbush Avenue. We ordered for delivery and we could not be more pleased. I kept it simple and ordered a grilled chicken quesadilla and a grilled chicken bowl. The bowl came with grilled chicken, rice black beans, lettuce, cheese, guacamole and pico de gallo. The quesadilla is cheese and chicken in a flour tortilla topped with guacamole. Both of these dishes were bursting with flavor and had the perfect amount of heat. The bowl more so than the quesadilla. I will definitely be ordering from Lola's again when I'm craving Mexican food. read more

I would have given this place more stars if the servings were bigger and the drinks were stronger. The ambiance is nice for a local feel and the staff is friendly. It's a good place for a small bite to eat maybe a snack. They should have different liquors and add more to their dishes. I had shrimp quesadilla and it was sort of flat and should have come with rice on the side since it was not a huge plate of food. Otherwise, only recommend if you're eating here then actually going to a real restaurant to fill up after. read more

I've been to Lola's three times now and haven't been disappointed. The food is good, the staff is super nice, the decor is cute and drinks does what needs to be done. Everything I've eaten there so far has been good. The food preparation does take a little bit of time so be patient. On the nice days they also have outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. I live in the area so the restaurant is slowly becoming a go to. read more
Alright alright !!!! Yes I'm a foodie but when it comes to Mexican food it's a little more like foodayyy if you catch my drift lol After a doctors visit and riding pass Lola's a few times in curiosity me and my princess & Mommy decided to have lunch at Lola's I have to say it kept calling me, the good vibes drew us in. I went with a virgin pina colada that was made by David and hands down it was one of the best I've had at a restaurant. It wasn't watery and not too sweet it was actually close to perfect I loved the mint leaf to top it off. Aesthetically Pleasing: The entire restaurant from outside to inside is definitely instagram worthy. I loved the pic in the back should have taken a pic on saying tequila is like therapy lol... I digress. I loved the service also Ashley was very attentive and nice from the beginning to the end. Food: I got the fajitas (chicken steak and shrimp) I shared it with my princess and brought it home and shared with my sister and still have leftovers a great bang for your buck it was about 23$ not bad My mom got the chicken bowl it was so yummy and authentic definitely topped chipotle for you chipotle lovers. I'm excited to come back to try brunch as well as outside seating . Thank you guys for the wonderful experience! read more

This is the best Mexican restaurant i've ever been to. I have been to Mexico multiple times. The food is spectacular and flavorful. The service is on another level. The workers always remember you and what you'd like. I've been a regular for around 3 years now. The ambiance is very calming. The drinks are delicious and perfectly made. read more

Small corner Mexican restaurant on Flatbush Avenue. Always busy, because the food is always fresh and delicious and the service is friendly and professional. Outdoor seating available. Excellent Margaritas. read more
First time here we were in the area it was Easter. I found it on yelp and we love Mexican food we figured we give it a shot. Place is small and quaint . We are a family of four. Two adults two kids ages 7&11. The awning and outside is so cute & aesthetic. They say us down right away on the side the bench had pillows my daughters loved that. Then there was one chair and clearly she saw four of us , I had to ask for a chair . It was kinda of warm in there and the windows are big so the sun was really feeling hot no air conditioning was on. We ordered a margarita pitcher and guacamole with chips to start. Drinks were good and the chips were so fresh like they made them there. We all had burritos all different. My husband got the beef, my daughter got the steak and I got the grilled chicken. It was so much i took half of it . Everyone loved their food. The bathroom was nice and clean and so cute. I attached pictures. I have a personal pet peeve when I'm out to dinner and have to look for the server for water and napkins. This happened but i must say I do understand because it seemed she was the only server towards the end someone else came to help . We would come again . read more

My son saw this and wanted to try it. First impression is, this is cute. 2ways to enter and exit. Very well it, cozy setting. You can use ur laptop, socialize with friends and not worry about being too extra. We went on a Tuesday evening and the place was half full, lots of pick up orders and deliveries as well. The Guacamole n chips is so well worth it, great presentation! I had the grilled pork chops, which were cooked perfectly and tender. I kind of expected more with the rice n beans, flavor that is. It was just yellow rice and the beans were black and it gave the feel that they were smashed or blended. Portions are good so not to fret about that. My son had the steak chimichanga which he absolutely loved and after tasting my pork chop. He said that when comes back that is what he will be ordering he know what he is ordering, good for business. I had the classic margarita and it was good. I did see the jalapeño ordered but I was staying traditional. Great spot, great location and moderately priced, definitely a neighborhood gem! Service is great every one is nice no issues there. Worth every star I gave them! read more
I've ordered delivery a few times but decided to sit at the restaurant for lunch on this particular day. The interior is decorated beautifully. I ordered a hibiscus drink. It was good however it tasted as if it started to ferment slightly. I ordered the chicken quesadilla which I know to be good and it was yummy as always. I ordered churros for dessert. I'm a huge fan of churros. The texture on these were great crispy exterior chewy interior but the churro dough itself was bland. They cinnamon sugar only does so much when the dough itself was lacking in flavor. I was finished eating and waited for my check without being checked on for about 45 minutes before just giving up and going to the register to ask for it. I enjoy their food but I will continue to order delivery as the in-restaurant experience was nothing to really rave about. read more
Love this new restaurant that's super close to where I live! Only a few stops on the bus or 8 minutes driving! The place is so damn cute! Whoever did the interior design for the place deserves all the money. It definitely caught my eye one day as i was headed home from Lighting Palace, which is down the block. I came here with a friend and had the best time! The ambience was perfect! Full of colors and very festive! The margaritas were delicious. I had one passion fruit and one mango. I thoroughly enjoyed the both of 'em! For our meals, I had the shrimp bowl and my friend had salmon on a bed of greens (to sub for rice). We both enjoyed! My friend had two mojitos and really liked them! 10/10 for customer service and cleanliness. The bathroom was beautiful too and sparkly! Can't wait to come back with more friends! read more

Hubby and I just moved into the neighborhood. We were happy to see a cute trendy Mexican restaurant. That's all it is cute and trendy. Ordered the guacamole and chips to start. Definitely no flavor very bland. It tasted like a straight up avocado off the tree. The chips were funky stale. I forced myself to eat out of hunger. We didn't even finish it off. Who in their right mind would leave guacamole behind? We did. I had the fish tacos and hubby had the steak taco bowl. Again not so flavorful and ate out of hunger. The only thing we enjoyed was the Jalapeño Margaritas. I drank it so fast that I was a little tipsy. Only so I didn't have to think about the food. Lol Sometimes cute and trendy looking doesn't always mean good food. Most likely we'll stick with the Mexican restaurants and food trucks we know and enjoy. Sorry! read more
