If you want to wait 20+ minutes for eggs then this is the place. There were literally only 2 other tables that already had their orders when we arrived so I'm not sure how it took well over 20 minutes for 1 baked egg, turkey bacon, poached eggs and toast with avocado to come out. I had to ask where our food was and it took the person I asked minutes to tell me it would be 5 more minutes. No urgency, no apology for the long wait. The food is good, but I won't be back because the service is terribly slow every single time we come here. read more

Love this restaurant. The coffee is one of the best I had, the pumpkin Ice latte is delicious and home-made, which is great because it doesn't taste sweet and chemically flavored. The food is always very good and people working there are very welcoming and nice. read more

Best cafe in Ladera Ranch, CA. Delicious homemade food, sandwiches, and the best lavender latte!

My favorite place in the whole world. Matt is awesome and the food and drinks are incredible. What an ambiance this place has. I love working on my computer here and coming in whenever I can. This spot is the best and the service is amazing. read more

Love the atmosphere. The food was fresh and different with amazing flavors. Loves the mixed berry flatbread among other things. We also ordered mushroom soup, Tuscan chicken sandwich and vegan wrap. More food than we needed but we wanted to try a few items off the menu. We weren't disappointed. The owner is friendly and happy to share his vision. Really enjoyed meeting him. Try the gluten free chocolate chip cookie. Amazing read more

I'm really bummed at this restaurant, because it is--was--one of my favorites. I ordered two sandwiches and a coffee and it literally took them 30 minutes to do it, while serving others first who were behind me. The food and everything in this restaurant is awesome. But what gives it the low score is the service. I spent nearly 50 bucks getting food, and when I asked the guy while I was waiting for a refill he reluctantly gave it to me, and then advised me that "it's normally 50 cents". I'm sorry but, I'm probably never going back there again. I wish I could take back my tip It's a bummer too. Cuz I really liked that place. Only go here if you have an hour or more to burn! BTW, whatever they're saying below, I did NOT get any refund as indicated. You should just spend your money elsewhere. read more

First time in today and really wanted to like this place was expecting to give them 5 stars based on the reviews and pics. Not quite at 5 stars for me yet... Here are my pros: * Adorable ambience and plenty of comfortable seating * Really fun and healthy menu. Creative gluten free and veggie options that I appreciate. Presentation very delicious looking.. *Crew seems really nice Here are my cons: * IMO, spendy for what you get...I ordered a GF avo toast and an almond latte. It was over $16.00 bucks. Young guy spilled my latte at the bar passing it to me...they were busy so I just said replace the saucer..no big but they are a definitely are cramped behind the counter. Latte was lukewarm. #firstworldproblems * Avocado toast was good...I was just surprised that it was a thin layer for $12.00+ bucks. I prefer chunky avocado spread and was disappointed. * Out of water cups and they were too busy behind the counter to replace. I'll definitely give them another chance, as it looks to be small business and I always like supporting that type of establishment. read more

LOVE this place, I found it when I was pregnant over 3 years ago and have been coming back ever since. Food is great, I'm gluten free and able to find good options here so that's a plus also. The staff is super friendly, and the owner is awesome as well, always remembers you and makes sure to say hi and ask how you've been etc. Which goes a long way with me! Love going to a place and feeling welcomed. read more

This is a wonderful place to enjoy your breakfast. There is a great selection of pastries, sandwiches, eggs, burritos and more delicious treats. Friendly staff and a good location to eat outside read more

I live nearby, and I have tried this place a half dozen times and I always question why? I want local business to grow but the service is often not what I would except from a restaurant. With few selections in my immediate area, I should write bubble, I am encouraged to make other selections. read more

Let me start by saying I don't post reviews unless it's a fabulous experience or a terrible one. In this case I sorry to say this was a terrible experience. I gave this place a second chance as they were fairly new on my first visit. Yesterday I went there and when I reached the counter to order a sandwich, I asked if they had sourdough bread and she stated she did not know what sourdough was. Amazing. Then I ordered something else and she said they were all out of that. I finally settled for something I did really want but I needed to eat. It took 30+ minutes to get my order and I had to go back up to the counter to see where it was. They hadn't even started on it yet. When the order came the egg whites in it were over cooked and we're like rubber. The portion was small and just not tasty. I will never return again. read more

This place is absolutely fabulous came here for a group meeting that was held for my work YMCA and love the food and the service. Then I came here with a friend and had absolutely the most delicious sandwich that I can't recall what it was called but it was very good! And the owners of Lola's café the most awesomeness people you'll ever meet seriously they're so nice and so great to their customers service is literally satisfaction. if you're looking for a place to lounge around with some friends and get some coffee or drinks this is it . read more

Lola's is our favorite spot in Ladera Ranch. The food is excellent. Our favorite is the Lavender Latte with the Sweet Potato breakfast burrito. The owners Matt & Ava are very caring and aim to make the customers as happy as possible. The restaurant is always clean. The ambiance is lovely and I especially love the food being served on a wooden cutting board. My husband and I try to stop by at least once a week. read more

This is one of my most favorite spots, so it pains me to write this. But I experienced the worst service and good quality today. I waited over 30 mins for my food to get the table. Which was more than slightly annoying, considering they weren't even that busy. But then to get my avo toast, that I have had many times come out and have barely any Avo on the toast was highly disappointing. At this point I didn't even have time to complain, because I was already late to an appt. there was clearly issues going on at the register (took way longer than usual) and the kitchen was so backed up and they were out of a lot of stuff, which makes me believe that is the reason the put literally NO avo on the avo toast. We ordered avo toast, a kids grilled cheese and 2 iced teas. Stood in line for 20 min to order (only 3 people in front of us) and 35 min to bri g our food out. All for the low cost of $33. Sadly, I will think twice now before coming back. Breaks my heart read more

Awesome locals coffee shop with something for everyone. The staff here is always friendly and the owner is always engaged it servicing your every need. It took a while for them to open but it was well worth the wait. I will always stop here for coffee and a pastry before sitting in the drive thru line for Starbucks down the street! All in all, great spot to run in and grab a coffee to go or hang out and enjoy the warm, inviting decor and friendly people that frequent this great establishment! Y'all are doing something right and my wife and I are so glad you are here! Keep up the great work! read more

Tasty, home made! Great atmosphere! So glad this place is open in ladera!! Great coffee and friendly service!!

This is only my second time writing a review on Yelp and it's only because of the terrible quality of food my family and I received this morning at Lola's Cafe. Both my children ordered the kids menu cheese pizzas with the choice of a side of fresh berries. I was expecting a sort of homemade artisan flat bread cheese pizza with fresh berries and what my children were actually served was a mini pizza out of the freezer section of a grocery store. And to boot, they weren't even heated up properly...the cheese on the mini pizzas wasn't melted all the way through...oh, and those fresh berries ended up being red grapes. I ordered two scrambled eggs and a side of avocado...how do you screw this up? Well, unfortunately, Lola's Cafe did. My eggs were rubbery, flavorless, and looked like they had been cooked in a cup in the microwave. So gross! The couple slivers of avocado were scant to say the least. We didn't order drinks, just water, and our bill came to $23 plus tip...what a rip off...you've been warned:/ read more

Yummy food!! Everything is amazing!! I like their breakfast burrito, egg sandwiches and avocado toast! Very clean and great service!

First time coming, love the atmosphere and esthetics but the costumer service could definitely use some work. Wasn't greeted for at least 3-5 mins by the girl working the register, when I asked about pastries I had to point to each and every one rather than just being told flavors when an interest was showed in the item. After asking for a refund for said pastry I could see the cashier mouth that the pastry was fine to her. I was happy to find this hidden gem with good ingredients but the customer service definitely has me second guessing coming back. read more

Love love love this cute little cafe! When I first came here and looked at the menu, I thought nothing special of the sandwiches. But after having my first bite... I thought DELICIOUS! Gosh, the sandwiches were amazing! We ordered: Suzy's Icelandic Breakfast - lox/capers/red onions/egg salad/mascarpone cheese I love lox, however, I feel like lox tastes almost the same everywhere I go (bagel, lox, cream cheese, etc). But when I saw that this comes with egg salad and mascarpone cheese, I had to try it, and I'm so glad I did. All the ingredients tasted so good together. The cheese was amazing with the egg salad and lox. I'm looking forward to ordering this one again! Oven Roasted Turkey Club - wow. Not your typical turkey club, that's for sure! My husband got this one, and I almost wanted to switch with him! The sauce they use here reminds me of Le Diplomat's garlic sauce (if you're familiar with Le Dip). Definitely getting this one next time. Lavendar Latte - Yum! Perfect for your morning caffeine. Sprinkled with real lavendar on top. I came back a couple more times and tried the Tuna Melt and then the Avocado Toast. I LOVE the avocado toast! So tasty with the Himalayan salt and red pepper flakes! It's not spicy, it just has a kick to it. My goal is to try a variety of their sandwiches on their menu. That won't be too hard since I work right near it! read more

This place has the slowest and most inefficient service I've ever seen. But it's fine. The food's great, but the service is not.

Adorable cafe with delicious coffee (honey vanilla latte) and food! We shared the Avocado toast and the Egg avo smash Sandwich! And both were great! Finally found a place for simple organic goodness! read more

so disappointed, i've heard good things about this spot but when i went today and ordered an iced chai latte with pumpkin, all i tasted was the heavy amount of cinnamon powder they put on top. for almost $8 for a small size, i don't think i can justify coming back. i wish it would have tasted more like pumpkin or even more like chai, i just felt like i was sipping straight cinnamon powder. read more

As an Australian, I struggle to find anything close to proper coffee in the US so I was delighted when the young barista at Lola's (wears his hat backwards) came up with the goods. He absolutely nailed it and it's literally the only place in all my travels throughout the US where I've had a well made espresso coffee at the correct temperature. On the food front, order the "deconstructed" breakfast burrito and replace the bacon with smoked salmon (lox). You'll have an excellent, healthy breakfast and walk out feeling like a champ. To the owner - keep that barista! He's worth more than you're paying him! read more

It's not often we order an experience or do we? Can I have a Lavender Latte? There's more to what we eat and drink at Lola's Cafe and it's all good. I didn't need to read the, "About" section on there website before realizing how organic this establishment is and I'm not talking so much about the food and drink, although top notch as well, as I am the ambience, the friendly staff and attention to detail. My hope is that inasmuch as I've been drawn time and time again here, that others will too and Lola's Cafe will realize how much we appreciate that experience in a world who needs it now maybe more than ever. I have been coming here for a while now, place is great but the wait for food is SO long. This week I came in and had the best Vegetarian chili.....Seriously the best ever. I am not sure what they are doing different but wait times for food were no nearly as long. That is the one thing that keeps me from coming in more is the wait. If they keep this up I will be in much more. read more

We have been to Lola's Cafe on serval different occasions and every time we have been wow'd with their great customer service and outstanding food. The quality of ingredients can't be beat with farm fresh eggs, and a lot of organic ingredients. The avocado toast is a must have. If you're there for breakfast the breakfast burrito, French toast soufflé, & breakfast sandwich are amazing. Full of flavor and you will not be disappointed. Of you are there for lunch the berry flatbread, kale & shaved brussel sprout salad is amazing! The owners are local to Ladera and really take pride in their restaurant. read more

Lola's is an amazing cafe. There sadly aren't a lot of places like this in south Orange County, so it's a real gem. Unique menu and killer coffee and tea options. I loved the Lavender Latte! Very charming inside with rustic decor. The prices are higher, but I don't mind because I believe this is a personally owned business. Small business was supposed to be a hallmark of the Ladera Ranch community, so they should be supported. Plus, food items are quality. The sandwiches are top of the line. I moved to Los Angeles for a new job, and this is one of the places I miss the most. Will probably make a special 70 mile trip just to pay a visit. read more

Lola's quite possibly might be the best thing to ever happen to Ladera! The area is plagued with less than stellar eats and finally Matt and team came to the rescue! Coffee is on point, lattes will have you begging for more. The food is amazing for breakfast - especially if you get the burrito is yam tatter tots, or the avocado toast. Employees are friendly and laid back. Highly suggest you get there before 8am on the weekend otherwise youll be waiting in a line out the door. read more

Most delicious cafe latte with honey n milk coffee in the world. Amazing. Must go and try. Great breakfast as well.

Hidden little gem! I've been coming to this area for my sons basketball tournaments for years and never knew about Lola's Cafe. We wanted something different than the nearby Starbucks, so we yelped Lola's and decided to give it a try. I ordered the bacon and egg sandwich with a honey vanilla latte and a brown sugar pop tart. My son had the tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich. Everything was absolutely delicious!! That latte is something I'll be craving every time I'm down here in Ladera, so Lola's will be a necessary stop for future tournaments. Pretty crowded on a Sunday, but they did well for food timing. My only suggestion to the owner would be to use larger plates for the food. I had to lean down close to the little board so crumbs wouldn't go everywhere, and even then our table was covered in crumbs. Overall, five star brunch- will definitely be back! read more

On a road trip and wanted something local with a good ambiance for a morning pick-me-up and this was the place. The owner was working the counter and spent explaining the drinks and creation process behind them. We didn't get food, but the coffee was excellent and I couldn't help eying other customers dishes. read more
