    Iced Chai Latte
    Sylvie C.

Visited right around noon to have lunch with a friend I haven't seen in awhile. Parking can be found in front of the restaurant or behind the shopping center strip. Service was disorganized and slow. The salad I wanted couldn't be made because they were supposedly out of strawberries and they could only offer to sub it with tomatoes. How pathetic. So I ended up getting the iced chai and kale and shaved Brussel sprouts salad with salmon add on. My friend got the Lola's salad. My drink tasted like bitter medicine perhaps due to the generous use of cinnamon. My salad had a lot of shredded Parmesan which was overpowering. The chickpeas in the salad wasn't crunchy or soft. Just stale and bitter. The salmon tasted like handsoap or hand sanitizer that got transferred to the fish. It tasted like chemical and had an acrid taste to it. The shop had indoors and outdoor seating. The outdoor seatings had ant infestations on the wall ledges and on the ground. I felt sorry for my dogs who suffered through the heat and ants crawling all over them. The store associate said they would bring us water bowl for dogs but it didn't happen until right before we left. All in all, I wouldn't mind returning in the future if in the vicinity or to catch up with my friend. But I wouldn't reorder the chai or the same salad. Perhaps I would have better luck with other sandwich options and drinks.

Lola's Cold Brew Iced Coffee Iced Ganache Mocha

Went for a Saturday brunch around noon for two. You order at the counter and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Drink orders get called out and you pick them up and you get a number for food which they drop at the table. They have smaller tables and larger tables and although it was busy, we didn't have any problem with getting a table. The service is on the chill side and quite slow. The patio was incredibly dog friendly with multiple dogs showing up while we were eating. It's a fun quirky cafe and the decor matches the feel of the restaurant. We got a cold brew coffee and a iced ganache mocha. Cold brew was strong without being acidic. The ganache mocha wasn't particularly sweet. We got a breakfast burrito which tasted like a diet breakfast burrito. It was flavorful, but the turkey bacon and the lack of a fatty sauce or greasy potatoes makes it a much lighter breakfast burrito compared to most restaurants. We were warned when we ordered the French toast soufflé that it wasn't traditional French toast, but a baked soufflé. The dish came exactly as promised and was a sweet rich and pretty dense treat. The tomato soup and grilled cheese were both well done and paired perfectly.

We try to stop by every time my son plays at the Ladera sports facility. Everything we have had here was fresh and good. I would highly recommend the lemon bar! So good The coffee is always good here. My husband and I shared a breakfast burrito. It was small and just enough for us to eat pregame. They always seem pretty busy, I think we waited almost 15 minutes which was cutting close for us. The place is cute, clean with lots of seating inside and outside.

I went to Lola's right before an appointment I had in Ladera Ranch. I got the marscapone, smoked salmon, and red onions/caper bread meal, and thought it was okay. The vibe was nice and everyone seemed friendly. Would come back to try something else.

Lola's is a little low key spot that seems to get a lot of local love! The line was long, but there was a good amount of seating. They have a pretty good sized menu for breakfast and lunch, and even vegan options for those with dietary preferences. The lavender latte and the chai latte were both very fragrant and good. The chai latte was on the sweeter side, and the lavender was a bit softer on the sweetness in comparison. The breakfast burrito was the perfect size, and had some unique ingredients like sweet potato hash browns and some sort of aioli! The burrito came out scalding hot and surprisingly took forever to cool down (only real frustration), but otherwise the flavors were so good. I seriously don't know how they got that egg so hot! The egg inside was boiled, so that was definitely different compared to most other places that use scrambled eggs, but, oddly enough, I didn't hate the switch up. I'd definitely order this again. The breakfast pizza was real good too. It was essentially the breakfast burrito deconstructed on pizza. I can't wait to come back and try the pastries & french toast soufflé, these also looked incredible!

We don't get over to Ladera Ranch very often but this place looked good enough for us to pop over for a go. Service is great.... The food comes out fast and they do have table service where you order at the counter and they give you a table number.. then they bring your order to you. Food is great.. tried the avocado toast which I devoured... nicely seasoned and plenty to share. Will definitely come back for more... they have these ding dong looking treats at the register that we wish we had tried. Next time!

Our fifth time here and this place is really good, to be honest the lunch isn't my favorite but if you want somewhere local for breakfast, this place is on the top of the list for us. They have vegetarian options and healthy alternatives. They also have healthy options for kids, in my opinion the waffles are sweet enough. They don't really need anymore sweetener or cream on there.

Tried this for the first time yesterday and it was pretty good. My SIL suggested it as a lunch before a movie. The honey lavender latte was quite good as well as the strawberry lemonade. The quinoa bowl was really loaded and really good. However, I would've wanted a bit more dressing. The service was quite quick! It's a very cute cafe, and I'd be interested in trying something else.

I love the location and the ambience at Lola's and the staff are friendly and helpful. However, I don't feel that the amount and quality of food for the price is worth my coming back and I've been here several times. I paid $2.50 for avocado and didn't even get a half of an avocado. Last time I checked avocados are $2.99 for a whole avocado. I paid $20 I for a small Americano and a small sandwich with no mayonnaise, No spread, no aïoli a tiny bit of tomato and no sides. There are quite a few other breakfast places where I can get double the size of breakfast for the same price. I think this matters, especially in a economy where a lot of people are struggling right now to feed a family. I believe in giving extravagantly even through my own business so to receive so little for the price just doesn't align with my values. It feels stingy or limited. This will probably be the last time I come here and I'm sad cause I do think it could really knock things out of the park if the prices and the amount of food for the price improved.

It was our first time at Lola's, and we're absolutely in love with this magical gem. The owners, Matthew and his wife Ava, are so lovely. you can tell how much they genuinely care about the quality of their food, your experience, and creating such a beautiful, positive atmosphere. The lavender latte was hands down the best I've ever had. made with homemade, high-quality ingredients. the lox on flatbread was next level.. you can taste the freshness and love. We can't wait to come back and try everything else! Tara & Ryan

I haven't been here for years, so I decided to stop by for a solo breakfast during the workweek. It's a comfortable little cafe with a large patio and friendly staff. Their food and coffee menus seemed to have good options, and the prices were reasonable. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which was made with good quality, savory ingredients. The iced latte was good too, but unfortunately they don't offer sugar-free flavors. I enjoyed my breakfast and I plan on coming here again next time I am in the area.

As someone that frequents here quite often this is a disappointment. I've put in a dispute with my bank already but I want to know why you charged me for an order that was never even made. What's crazier is there were two men sitting on the outside portion of the restaurant finishing their food while I could see the employee closing up the kitchen. I asked through the closed front door what would happen to my order and your employee said because it wasn't actually made that by the end of the night I wouldn't be charged. The evening before my brother's fiancée's birthday, my parents and I visited the store to order a cake for the celebration. We were assisted by an employee named Aiden. From the beginning, he showed little to no customer service--there was no greeting, friendliness, or engagement during the interaction. Despite this, we continued with the order and specifically requested a fresh cake to be picked up the following day at 3:00 PM. The next day, when my mother and brother went to pick up the cake, my mother noticed that the display cake that had been in the case the previous evening was no longer there. She asked Aiden if the cake he gave them was the display cake. Instead of responding, he simply stared at her and did not answer the question. My brother also noticed the lack of basic customer service and found the interaction very strange and unprofessional. Later that day, we brought the cake home and served it during the celebration. As soon as we cut into it, everyone noticed the cake was very different and tasted horrible. It tasted stale and dry. The strawberries were very mushy and smelled spoiled. None of us finished our cake slices and still have a large portion remaining. The following day, I called the store to explain the situation. A female employee answered the phone and told me she was busy with customers but would call me back shortly to sort out the issue. About 30 minutes later, I received a call back, and it was Aiden again. I explained everything that happened, but once again he showed no concern, empathy, or professionalism. When I asked about my mother's question regarding whether the cake was the display cake, he claimed he "didn't hear" her question. He did not apologize for the experience and simply offered a free slice of cake as compensation. My family and I have purchased cakes from this location several times before and have always enjoyed both the quality of the cakes and the customer service. In fact, my family has owned restaurants and businesses ourselves, so we understand very well how important customer service and quality are in the hospitality industry. This is not the way customers should be treated, which is why this experience was so disappointing to us. This is the first time we have ever had to complain. We were very surprised that a cake we specifically requested to be fresh tasted bad and have been displayed for days. Aiden also mentioned that cakes and pastries can remain out for up to two days, which was concerning given the quality we experienced. We truly loved this location and had always enjoyed coming here in the past. Unfortunately, what could have been a small issue turned into a very negative experience due to the lack of professionalism, communication, and customer care from the manager on duty. Because of this experience, my family and I will no longer be returning to this location in the future. I hope this issue can be addressed so other customers do not experience the same situation.

This is a full-service restaurant where you'll be seated and order taken at the table. They have burgers, sandwiches, salads, and wings on the menu. I was brightly welcomed and seated by an energetic young woman. Various people attended to me at the table during my meal. I wanted to order from their lunch specials but I really wanted a chocolate mint milkshake, which couldn't be added to any of the specials. So I additionally ordered the old-school cheeseburger and tots. The burger, according to the menu, included Tillamook cheddar, lettuce blend, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and relish between a brioche bun. I requested no onions and the burger cooked medium. As an aside, my first encounter with The Counter was probably 20 years ago at their Santa Monica location, where they introduced a new concept: providing pencil and paper with a long list of ingredients you could check off to build your burger to your specifications. They still have those sheets at the tables here or you can, as I did, just order off the menu. The milkshake was excellent, very chocolatey with a mild mint background flavor. I actually would have liked the mint a bit stronger but it was fine. The tots were superb! Crisp and crunchy outside and soft inside. The beef of the burger was very flavorful, obviously quality meat. I kept thinking the burger was bland though. After I was finished I checked the menu descriptions on their website. I realized my burger, which didn't have onions per my request, also didn't have pickles or relish. I didn't taste any tomato either, although I think there might have been a thin slice. My mind was distracted by other things as I ate so, spaced out as I was, I didn't add up that the lack of pizazz was the lack of ingredients. I had already scarfed the entire thing down so there was no point in complaining. I've always rolled my eyes over people who eat every bite of their meal and then complain and want it comped. I wasn't going to be THAT person. Still, I wonder what happened with the burger. Despite my disappointment I still liked my lunch "okay".
