    Ube French toast
    Angie K.

Good food, extremely subpar service. Came here on a Sunday for brunch. It was about a 40 minute wait for a party of two. We sat at the bar; huge mistake. Despite being seated at the bar and making eye contact with multiple people at the bar for about 15 minutes, no one said a word to us, gave us waters, nothing! One of them finally took our order after those 15 minutes. We ordered the calamansi drink because they were out of the mango guava. Even that didn't come out for 10 minutes until we asked for it, and the lady that I asked seemed super annoyed that I asked for it and didn't apologize for the delay. In the meantime, the couple that was seated next to us had come after us, yet they got their matcha drink before we got a drink that was literally syrup and sparkling water. We got the ube French toast and loco moco. Both were tasty and I was happy with the food. The server that dropped off the food was also very nice (she wasn't one of the people at the bar). Only one person came to check on us, and he wasn't even someone that was at the bar. The three people the bar couldn't care less and never checked on us, filled our waters, etc. To ask for our check, my friend had to practically scream for attention. Not coming back here unless they fix their staff issues. They're clearly miserable. Don't take it out on paying customers.

We came by here for lunch on a little day adventure to San Juan Capistrano. It's located right at city center by the train tracks. Food was delicious! We had the adobo breakfast burrito and the ribeye bowl with loganisa on the side. Absolutely loved everything we ate. So much flavor in every bite. Coffee was just okay, probably wouldn't order again but will definitely come for the food. Will be back!

So excited about this spot! There definitely could be a wait so keep that in mind! We came on Memorial Day it was able 45-60 min wait. We got a couple of different items and was pleasantly surprised by them all! Everything was super delicious but my favorite was definitely the ube pancakes. The ube whipped cream they have is amazingggg and a must try. I really like their coffee and matcha too. The guava matcha they is one of my top matchas!

BREEZY @ SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO The easy breezy with the pork sausage was super good! It did take awhile to get service but the food was a perfect fusion, I think the pancakes could be a little thicker for some people. The inside was super aesthetic for brunch and photos--overall 5/5

Filipino fusion at its best! Sunday morning and arrived right when they opened and before there was a wait. The Ube Ensaymada in their window display caught my eye as I walked by, it became my starter. So delicious I ordered two more to go. So many selections and I selected the Pork Adobo Chilaquiles. So tasty with an abundance of pork adobo. I also tried the Adobo Burrito and it was like the comfort food of garlic rice, pork adobo fused with Mexican cotija cheese, salsa verde, cilantro, avocado, sour cream, pickled onions, radish with eggs wrapped in a tortilla - bueno masarap My cousin ordered the Jax Loco Moco which is next on my list to try! The Malakas Veggie Scramble is perfect for a healthier and lighter option. Coming back for sure.

Came out to SJC to check out this brunch location. The place is very pink with the decoration. The open doors and window does make the interior breezy. Ordered the honey basil ribeye steak bowl. The ribeye was cooked to medium rare served with a light salad. A good balance of savory and sweetness. Finished up the brunch with ube french toast. We arrived early for brunch and so it wasn't too busy and our server was able to serve the food quickly. It was a cool find for a brunch.

This was such a cute find! I ordered the mushroom avocado toast and the mango matcha to pair and both were equally delicious. The mango puree was fresh and the proportion was perfect. I'd definitely come back to try other items on the menu. Also I'd recommend a reservation on weekends!

Ambiance and aesthetic are lovely. There was a bit of a wait especially since we had a large group. After about 30 min we asked the hostess if we were able to let us order coffee while we waited for our table, the answer was yes, absolutely. Baristas never gave us a look of acknowledgment that we were waiting at the register to order (for about 6-7 min), we ended up getting a text for our table before she even looked up at us. The coffees were ok. Not strong, barely a coffee taste, light flavor from toppings. Seemed watered down. We ordered Cali lattes, BBL, coco niu. My niece enjoyed her matcha though, said it was good tho could have had more of a matcha taste. There was variety in menu so we expected them to be pretty good. It's not a coffee shop, so no big deal but I would have probably been better off getting a regular drip coffee. Food was ok. Ribeye bowl was probably the best of all the orders; ribeye was perfectly seasoned, very flavorful. The Filipino inspired dishes were ok, not very authentic and served with spinach... didn't quite go with the adobo bowl in my opinion. Longanisa was standard, garlic rice ok. All the sweet dishes were good, basic - ube French toast and ube pancakes. They weren't fluffy, more chewy, but some enjoy it that way ‍. I think the American style items and sweets are safe, but the Filipino/hawaiian/islander inspired dishes were a bit weak. I was really excited for this place after seeing it on Instagram, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me.

Basil Steak bowl was delicious! Super good quality Acai bowl! The service was fantastic! I love the atmosphere, super upbeat.

Such a cute place!! Must cuter than photos can justify. Food was also really great. Their adobo rice/ ribeye was good and veggies were fresh. Great seasoning and ube pancakes were delish. Coffee is the one thing they can work on, there wasn't enough espresso compared to milk but my server was able to accommodate and help with that. Really great service and cute place to go with the girls!

I LOVE this place!! Amazing service, nice outdoor patio that's dog friendly, but above all, the food!! This is the place you want to go for weekend brunch. Their specialty drinks are so good - highly recommend the BBL (banana) matcha. And the food is a mix between American breakfast and Hawaiian and I'm not sure what else. They also have mimosa flights that looked pretty good but I didn't try them. The best combination here is to split the ube French toast and the honey basil ribeye bowl. Perfect amount of sweet and savory. Seriously so good I will be back very soon!

The food was awesome and definitely lived up to the hype! Everything we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and well worth the visit. The atmosphere was fun and lively, but be prepared for a wait because this place is very popular and stays busy. The only downside was that the coffee service was a bit slow, and it seemed like the barista was having a hard time keeping up with the demand. Other than that, I had a great experience overall. The food more than made up for the wait, and I would definitely come back again for brunch.

Ube Pancake Stack & Pork Adobo Breakfast Burrito

IT'S A YESSS FOR ME! This place is absolutely amazing! The ube pancakes did not disappoint, and the adobo breakfast burrito was perfection. The drinks were also great, and the restaurant is beautiful with such a good vibe. The only thing I'd say is the service could be a little better. It wasn't bad overall, but we did have to wait a bit to be seated and again to get our check. Other than that, I'd definitely come back!

Do they serve any breakfast, gluten-free toast, waffles, pancakes or GF French toast?

Don't recall any pancakes or waffles being GF but they do have a great steak with eggs & rice. Might want to ask. The steak might have gluten in the glaze :/

The fish was fresh and the texture and serving portion was generous for a regular size! A good amount of fish hides in this square container I got regular with rice white, 1/2 spicy mayo and 1/2 original blend, with salmon. I didn't love that every topping (including furikake!) was an additional price. Premium topping I understand but seasonings felt weird to be charged for. The lines were long as this is a popular go to spot in the OC (so we learned after). But the line moved quick and most are to go. The ambiance was bust and the setting had the charm of a slow weekday, people relaxing and not in a huge rush for their poke. Reminds me of being on vacation. Will def come back if I'm in the area!

Just very very casual and not totally comfortable. Food- 3.4/4 out of 5 - I got the Luau plate and LOVED the chicken!! Everyone else was right- that chicken thigh deserves its own plate. I also really enjoyed the coconut pudding/jello thing that came with it and the sausage link. The pulled pork was just okay, not very well seasoned but not bad. The side of "dressed greens" was just some lettuce without dressing on it, and I thought the macaroni salad was fine. The last thing that really disappointed me were the sautéed veggies :/ they were just soo oily and had no seasoning to them at all. I didn't eat any of them or the un-dressed 'salad'. My husband got the chicken katsu plate, he said the chicken katsu was fine but the fries on the side were cold and not crispy, they were kind of chalky in the mouth and didn't taste fresh. Some parts were definitely a 3/5 but my chicken thigh was so good and the portions are *huge* so I feel like they deserve a 4/5? All in all, I think I'd come back if I wanted to go out with someone but save some money and we'd split one of the plates (the portions really are huge).

Bad to the Bone BBQ is actually Great to the Bone!!…read more Came here on 4th of July for one of their holiday feasts. It was a huge box filled with delicious bbq for the whole family! It came with 2lbs of brisket, 2 racks of ribs, 1lb of sausage, 24 pieces of bbq chicken, coleslaw, cornbread, mac n cheese, homemade potato chips, a peach cobbler, and a gallon of lemonade! The brisket was perfectly cooked with a nice smokey flavor and quite juicy. The house sausage was great, I could eat it every day. The chicken was so good with just a bit of char for that nice grilled taste. The ribs were amazing! They fell off the bone and had a perfect bite to them. Their bbq sauce is really good too, not too sweet yet smokey. Coleslaw was good and fresh. The mac n cheese was gooey and so cheesy. The chips were actually really nice, crispy, and salty. The cornbread was delicious especially with their whipped honey butter on top. For dessert I couldn't ask for a better bite than from the peach cobbler with their homemade whipped cream on top. The staff were all so nice when I went to pick up my order. Even though they were swamped for the holiday they were calm and did everything with a smile. There were 2 dining rooms that I saw so it looks like a ton of space. There's also a whole display where you can grab some bbq sauce or hot sauce to buy. It also changed the tip I entered to auto apply their own tip. After I paid, it showed me my total that they already collected payment for PLUS the tip they decided they wanted to force me to add. How could this be legal? I immediately called the restaurant but no one was answering the phone. Went to the restaurant and explained the situation to the cashier who told me I am the second person today to complain about this! She was unable to refund the tip that they took the liberty of applying themselves but I left my phone number and am still waiting to hear from the manager, otherwise I will have to take this up with my bank. Now for the food, I ordered a brisket sandwich and a side of mac and cheese. The brisket was not trimmed and it's inedible unless you like a mouthful of fat in every bite. Every single slice of brisket on my sandwich was just a slab of fat with a little meat hidden inside. I had to clean it myself and once I did there was barely any meat in my sandwich. I am attaching photos so you can see how pathetic it looks. Had I dined at the restaurant I would've sent this back or shown them how much fat I removed and asked them to bring me the equivalent in MEAT not fat, which I paid for! I would love to hear from management about what happened here regarding the deceptive pricing. As far as the food, not sure if they just have gotten lazy and don't trim their meat anymore but anyone who knows bbq knows the effort needed to properly clean brisket and that was certainly overlooked here. $25 total for a fat sandwich and a side of super oily mac and cheese. Definitely not happy in the slightest.
