I can't believe I'd never been here. The place is super cute and the staff is so helpful. I tried the Prosciutto AM sandwich. A toasted ciabatta braid sandwich with a broken yolk sunny side egg, fried prosciutto, alfalfa sprouts, tomato, a whipped gout cheese spread, and pesto. The sandwich was delicious but it could've had way less alfalfa sprouts. I can't wait to go back and try more breakfasts items and pastries.

Service was great and quite fast. The staff answered our questions to the best of their abilities. It's so nice and cold in there and there is seating both inside and out of the establishment. I got the lucky Charms coffee and while it was great coffee it tasted like lavender to me (I rate it a 8/10). I will most definitely come back for another coffee purchase. I split a coffee cake with my bestie and it was dry :( it tasted more of a carrot cake to me to be honest. I really enjoyed my order of Shrimp tacos although I thought it was spicy but again really good 8/10. There are restrooms in the facility.

What a delightful Saturday morning spent at this cute restaurant set in a historic home in downtown San Juan! There is paid street parking, a smaller public parking lot around the corner where I was lucky to snag a spot, and all day valet for $10 directly behind the restaurant. The line gets long so come early or be prepared to wait half an hour around peak brunch time if ordering from the kitchen menu. They have a great selection of delicious fresh pastries and sandwiches up at the counter - I got a tarragon chicken palm sandwich and a tomato soup. Both were delicious and just filling enough for a brunch meal. The lavender lemonade was also super refreshing for the hot summer day. If you come early enough or get lucky, grab a seat on the wrap around porch! Great experience and reasonable prices. Will be back!

A beautiful historic home turned cult favorite brunch spot! Ellie's Table is the most darling little place in San Juan Capistrano. It's located pretty centrally, so parking can be a little tricky. There are a few paid lots nearby! I got the Spanish Omelette and a Strawberry Lemonade. The Spanish Omelette was a hefty one! It came with shredded beef, peppers and onions, salsa, cotija cheese, crema, and cilantro. Probably one of the bigger omelettes I've had- great for sharing! Love me a savory, spicy breakfast. Their Strawberry Lemonade was also really good! Fresh and tart with tinge of sweetness.

My friend and I took the train to San Juan Capistrano. We visited the Mission, walked around the market area and I got a tattoo. Wonderful day. We had lunch here and the food was great. You order at the counter, pay, wait for your food and you seat yourself. The price for everything was next to each item, except the salmon toast. When I got to the register, it turns out the salmon/lox toast was $25!!!!!! It was delicious , don't get me wrong, but I would NEVER have paid $25 for it. That was diabolical. Deduct one star.

I've been wanting to check this place out for such a long time and I'm sad to say it was so disappointing. I just left and it was not great. First, when you come in it's a bit confusing on where to go. I was standing there looking at the cases of treats while 2 people were infront of me trying to figure out what to order. I knew I wanted the turkey focaccia since that's what I saw online and looked decent. The guy asked if I was ready and ordered and asked if I wanted it toasted. I said yes and if there was anything else, i said no. I just stood there but he didn't tell me to go to the cash register or anything. I go over to the cashier and she asks if I ordered already, I say yes and tell her i got the turkey focaccia and she goes to gets it. In my head, I thought-he just put it in the oven. She comes out with the sandwich in a tiny plate with the turkey overflowing. I can tell it isn't warm. I sit down to eat and I have a half cold and half lukewarm sandwich. The focaccia bread itself is so thin, it can barely keep the sandwich together. I ate it since I paid $8 for it, but it was not good. It was falling apart, it was cold, it was not enjoyable. Disappointed and not sure if I'll be back. I may check out the Irvine location but I'm not running back.

This little gem is in the most odd location. I feel like you either have to work close by or know to look for it. I've only been there twice but I do like their food. I just forget about it. This trip I came just for the lemon poppyseed cake and I thought it was very light and tasty. I wish there was more lemon curd on it but I enjoyed the slice. They have good salads and their little sandwiches are packed! They do validate so that's definitely good! SYOY

This historic house has turned into a restaurant that offers a casual dining experience with quick great food. You walk up to the counter to order and then can wait inside or outside on the patio. The menu has plenty to offer and the counter has glass displaying bakery items both sweet and savory. The patio has seating areas under a big tree with plenty of shade. Parking is very limited on the property, but there is a lot 1 block south that has plenty of free parking. The location here is central to be able to walk afterwards. The mission, downtown, and Los Rios all within minutes. This is a memorable place for food and an experience in San Juan Capistrano!

My family and I were driving from LA back home to San Diego and decided to stop for breakfast halfway. We came across this gem in San Juan Capistrano and it was AMAZING!! you order at the cashier and then self seat which makes for quick service and quick turn around time for your food to be delivered. The pastry bar was beautifully displayed and they're large sized pastries! The chocolate croissant was delicious! Everything we got for breakfast was delicious!! We also got the chicken & waffles (forgot to take a pic) and my husband LOVED it. The coffee was great too. We will definitely be back! The historic building and area is so charming too making it a sweet spot for a morning date!

Charming cafe with great decor . Came I. After visiting the Mission and enjoyed a turkey sandwich which was massive . 10/10 Churro coffee was super yummy . Did not enjoy the focaccia turkey sandwich at all plate was to small and bread had a weird texture. I was thrown off by the deli style salad option I originally wanted a salad but they looks not so great . Baked goods looked good but I didn't order any .

Such a cute breakfast/brunch spot with plenty of food options to choose from. They have a small parking lot and lots of outdoor seating. The service is great and workers are all friendly. I tried their bruschetta chicken sandwich, garlic fries, chicken and waffles, and their bacon breakfast burrito. For a drink, I got their limited strawberry rose matcha latte. I was not a huge fan of this matcha, it was way too milky. Out of everything, do yourself a favor and get the chicken and waffles or their bruschetta chicken sandwich. The waffle is perfectly crisp and smells like heavenly vanilla. I would pass on the breakfast burrito, because it was pre-made, small, and the tortilla was hardened. I would come back to try their other goodies.

We had the mini croissant plate, Loraine quiche , bagel plate , fruit plate and cinnamon rolls

Samantha helped me out so much to figure out what I should get for hosting a bridal shower. I told her my price range and she helped navigate me and offered great ideas ! Highly recommend them ! Food was absolutely amazing.

In my opinion, Ellie's Table has the best cinnamon roll in town! The cream cheese frosting has the perfect amount of tang and sugar.

Had such a great brunch experience at Ramos House Cafe in San Juan Capistrano!…read more We went for their weekend brunch, which is a set menu where you choose a small plate and a large plate. The restaurant is located right on Los Rios Street, the historic street in San Juan Capistrano, so you're right in the heart of the cutest part of town. The space is really charming -- it's outdoors but covered, with lots of plants and rustic details that make it feel cozy and unique. Our server was also so sweet and helpful throughout the meal. And the food was really good. For my small plate, I got the fava bean treat, which was kind of like a little salad with bread and a fava bean spread on the side. I didn't really taste the black truffle part. The large plate was the roasted vegetable hash, and this was definitely my favorite. It was seasoned so well and had so many different grilled vegetables packed into it. The fried poached egg was also fantastic! The only part I'd probably skip next time is the tomato foam, but that's mostly because I'm not a huge fan of foams in general. The brunch is $49 per person, so it's definitely more of a splurge, but you do get a good amount of food and I thought the quality was really impressive. There's decent parking nearby, or you can try to find street parking around town and walk over, although weekends can make that a little challenging. Overall, such a cute space, great service, and really delicious food. It's a fun spot for a special brunch, especially if you want to spend some time walking around Los Rios Street afterward!

It's so nice to eat outside with the warm weather and mission nearby. We started with the Bloody Mary and Martini for brunch. The Bloody Mary came with pickled green beans and a shrimp it was simple and good, and the martini had a perfect balance of coffee flavor without being too sweet. The Huevos Ranchero and Crab Hash with the side of citrus creme fraiche on the side was well balanced, light and refreshing! The overall experience was a great way to start the day of exploring in the Mission area! If you're making a day trip in Southern California San Juan Capistrano I highly recommend taking the train and making a day trip to the area, and of course starting brunch at the Ramos House! Note that the house is a historical location and the eatery is on their patio area.

I'm typically suspicious of French cafes, they never really hit the spot, and not because I try them with the expectation of getting a true French style product, but I'm just very often disappointed by the general quality. I'm so glad I gave this a go. We tried both savory and sweet pastries, and they were all absolutely delicious. To the point that I ordered a few more to go. The croissant with cream and berry was gorgeous, not overly sweet, which is sadly so rare, and the feta cheese and mushroom pastry was amazing. The person behind the counter was also super sweet and helpful. If I were a local, this would be my almost daily spot.

Campesino Cafe is located at the Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano, an organic farm with local goods and a shop. There's plenty of parking too and the cafe itself wasn't too hard to find. It's past the main shop and past the ice cream stand. When I got to the cafe, I was greeted by a really friendly cashier who helped me navigate the menu which was full of organic food such as sandwiches, crudo, and some brunch items as well. I asked the cashier for his favorite item and I was guided to the beans and grain bowl surprisingly - being told it would be both filling and tasty. I took him up on his offer. After grabbing a table number, there were numerous tables available in an outdoor patio with some shade covering along with big water glasses to use. The food came out after about 5-7 minutes. The bowl was really solid. I loved the vinaigrette they used which was sour and savory. And the beans and grains were perfectly cooked. You can add protein onto the dish, but I thought it worked on its own. I do think if you are pretty hungry, the bowl by itself won't completely fill you up so might be worth getting an appetizer.
