I absolutely love stopping in here... once or twice a month. I can't speak of the coffee, but the chocolatier side is quite excellent. I almost always put together a 16 piece box of mixed truffles. As for the chocolates, I obviously think very highly of them... The caramel cashew crunch and butterfly pea flower are both exceptional and The rest are nothing short of high quality thoughtful treats. When put together, the assortments in the boxes are colorful and stunning every time. HOWEVER The packaging needs to be rethought. Everything about these delectables are elegant until you try to pick one of your chocolates out of The plastic casing they sit in. The plastic they sit in (just the bottom side of It) are almost a half inch too deep. The elegance goes out the window and is traded for an awkward fumbling experience of trying to get your chocolate Out of the Case without smudging, smashing, spilling your lovely and expensive treats. It's almost comical how poorly it's designed. It's the one area that really needs to be reconsidered. But everything else is fantastic. read more

I had never heard of Lohcally till a few weeks ago. Nice thing is that they recently just opened their storefront in Powell, where I live. I have not really bought too many artisan chocolates in the past, but I loved the beautiful look of the chocolates from this store, so ordered a customized box of 16 for pickup. There are two types of truffles you can order: duos and solos. Duos are $3.65 each and solos are $3.10. Duos are larger with multiple chocolate flavors and solos have a single ganache flavor. All my favorites from the box were duos. My top three duos were: s'mores (so good!), red velvet (you'll love it if you like red velvet flavor), and rose pistachio (literally tasted like a Middle Eastern dessert). The truffles were amazing pieces of art as they are individually hand painted. The truffles were delicious, both smooth and rich in flavor. The only truffle flavor I did not like was the tiramisu, I think the espresso syrup along with kailua cream was too much for my tastebuds. Their store is very cute and in the heart of Powell downtown. There is plenty of parking behind the store if street parking is not available. The interior is super cute and they have a few tastefully decorated seating areas. I look forward to getting my favorites again and trying new flavors. read more

Personally, I only had artisan chocolates once and it was a long time ago. I heard that Lohcally is opening a store front in Powell and went check out on their grand opening weekend. I went in around noon on a Saturday and they are fairly packed, people do continuously coming in and out. As you first enter, a display case of delicate artisan chocolate is right in front. On the side, they also have different goodies from other local business as well. If you are an indecisive person like me and coming for the first time, you can also check on their website for the available flavors. The owner and the staffs are super friendly. If you would like to enjoy right at the spot, they do have a couple seating toward on the right side of store. It is a nice and cozy area, surrounded by varies art piece hang on the wall. They also offer hot cocoa and some tea options. It is definitely worth to have a little treat to yourself or even gift for special occasion. read more

We got there right before closing and picked out a sampler pack . The sampler contained both the larger duos such as mint Oreo and cheesecake flavors. The chocolates were each unique and exceptional. I really loved the s'mores option. read more

I found this business completely on a whim, as I was browsing Facebook and saw that someone had posted an article about it. I LOVE artisan chocolate. My first experience with it was at a shop called Christopher Elbow in Kansas City, and since trying those chocolates, I've had such a curiosity about them and longing to try more. This shop is in Powell, which happens to be near my job, so with extra time to kill on a Thursday, I thought, why not?! I was given a warm greeting by Joann, and we talked a lot about the chocolates and how the owner had taken a class on artisan chocolate making and had made it into a business! The chocolates are decorated so beautifully, they are little pieces of art. But more importantly, they taste amazing! These chocolates are dark, white, and milk chocolate, and they are solo or duo layer on the inside. Duo layered chocolates I learned actually have two layers in the inside when you bite into it. I'd not previously seen that, but thought it was a very cool concept. Joann mentioned that the owner doesn't sell any chocolates with imperfections, and there just happened to be a chocolate with a hole in it, and since we were both looking out for future customers, we decided to split it. And man.... the inside is smooth, not too thin, not too thick, with really delicate flavors. I ended up getting chair, caramel sea salt, and s'mores. Joann mentioned that they change flavors seasonally, so please do yourself a favor if you love artisan chocolates and stop by to support this lovely business. I'm not a candy girl but I received a variety of flavors as a gift and OH my, the Caramel Cashew Sea Salt truffle stood out easily as my favorite, because I enjoy a little praline crunch!
