How about some Ohioan culture? Anthony-Thomas Chocolates has 13 locations in the Columbus area…read more When you enter the store you are blown away by how neat and artfully displayed everything is. There's so much variety! You can even get Buckeyes packed in an Ohio State Themed Buckeye box. On my first visit, I bought the 16oz. Milk Melt-A-Way Mints and we took it to a family's house. Once we got to the dessert (the mints) there was silence. Everyone was in Nirvana. I secretly sobbed inside when we left the remaining mints behind. It was then I realized I should have just brought half of the box, but I digress. On this current visit, I chose to make my own half pound box from the counter case. Who am I kidding, it wasn't like I just jumped over the counter....but Mackenzie (the manager) was very helpful. Basically, you get 16 pieces, which does not include truffles, so I said, "Just give me two of each flavor from the milk chocolate creams and two from one of the dark chocolate creams." There are 7 flavors, and it seems you cannot find them on the website. So I guess if you want to custom build your box you have to do it in the store. But don't worry, there is so much to chose from on their website! I will definitely be back and try their Buckeyes. And get some more melt-a-way mints.

This place sells locally-made chocolate. I worked in the chocolate industry in a time before time…read moreso I know that working in a store that makes and sells chocolate is a great deal of fun. The people working there really didn't look like they were having fun. That's unfortunate because I always enjoyed making and selling chocolate. HOW ARE YOU UNHAPPY AROUND CHOCOLATE? They have a lot of chocolate options, the ubiquitous "buckeye" and several other treats that they make there or locally. They had several things on clearance post-Easter so it was easy to help the kids pick something (I thought a dark chocolate, raspberry filled Jesus on the cross wasn't really a thing but the more you know..." If you're looking for chocolate, you will find it here. They have chocolate in many shapes and sizes with a variety of fillings and toppings. They also featured gift-baskets.

Nice little family-run business. I've seen it many times but finally decided to stop in for some…read morequarantine supplies, er, Easter candy. They had plenty of standard items, plus a bunch of things for Easter. Bunnies, crosses, etc., in various shapes, sizes, milk/dark chocolate, etc. I had to get a bunny for Baby K, of course, and she liked it. No sugar free, so nothing for my mom (though dark chocolate would be better for diabetics.) They had just made peanut butter eggs, so one of those for Sweetie. And then I had to keep myself from getting one of everything for me. Ended up with eagles (turtles,) toffee, and bacon brittle. The eagles are excellent: rich chocolate, good caramel and nuts, one is enough but you will want more. The toffee is good, pretty hard so none for Baby K or anyone with bad teeth, wrapped in rich dark chocolate. Haven't tried the brittle yet, but come on, bacon, you know I had to get some. Yeah, yeah, there are peanuts in there, too. I bought too much, and yet am afraid I will run out too quickly. Prices are a little high but you get what you pay for- this is good stuff. Glad to see local businesses making it through this. Glad this place is here. I'll be back. Note: the sign says Eagle Family Candy, not John Eagle, and it's a tiny place so use GPS and be careful. Oh, and speaking of careful, good safety procedures here, with hand sanitizer on the counter and minimal contact. But, it is small, so it would get crowded easily. Only open 11-4 currently.

Stopped in today and bought some Easter candy for my granddaughter…read more Had to get a chocolate covered peep for myself! It was delicious. Great tasting chocolate! Owner gave me history of the store which was interesting!

The price for what…read moreyou get is a bit high, but they do have a wide variety of gummy, chocolate, and sour candies. There's also jumbo sized candy that you can purchase, but I don't think you get the full value of what you pay for. The store was vibrant and filled with things that could satisfy many sweet tooths. The store was busy when we came in and there was only one person working, that we could tell. I recommend for gifts or a quick sweet treat!

Stopped by today with my children. The candy selection is amazing. However, the music was so loud…read morethat you had to literally yell over it to communicate. The guy working must need a vacation because he seemed like he was at the end of his rope. Reprimanding parents and kids left and right. Starting to think he had the music at that volume to deter people from staying too long in the store. My son apparently ate one of the pieces of candy while filling his bag.. I didn't notice. If I had I would have said something to him. The guy working DID notice and shouted "Hey! I saw that! You know that's STEALING?!!!" All he had to do was tell me and I would have corrected my son immediately. There were some pens at the counter that had a sign on it saying "These are not toys! These are pens!" My other son picked one up to look at it. The guy at the counter pointed to the sign and snapped "Read the sign.. read the sign... read the sign." Pretty ridiculous. All of this within a span of about 10-15 minutes in the store. Probably won't be heading back to the place until someone with a reasonable temperament is working behind the counter.
