They arranged a table to accommodate all of us very quickly. We enjoyed sitting on the patio as it was warm and partially cloudy today. Everything was wonderful from our service by Elsie to our meals which came out hot and ready about 15 minutes after we ordered. They serve ice cold water and have condiments on the table (cholula! Yeah). My husband was super pleased with the coffee (which he drinks black), saying more than once that it was really good. He ordered the short rib hash and I ordered the My Way or the 101 Hwy (2 eggs over easy. house potatoes, chunky sourdough toast, crispy bacon. ) Every element was cooked for maximum flavor and perfect texture--no notes! Our new favorite brunch spot in the area, and we look forward to coming again when we're in town visiting family!

We tried the gobi manchurian (cauliflower) appetizer, spinach naan, lamb vindaloo, and chicken biryani. The portions were large, everything was hot and flavorful, and overall very good. Lots of leftovers for lunch the next day! One near miss - my wife thought that the cauliflower was too breaded/fried (the menu says sauteed, not fried), but we both agreed that it was very tasty. Looking forward to putting Tandoori Bites back in our rotation!

I sat there patiently, and the female employee came to the register to take my order after a while. I ordered my burrito... we had a choice of bacon or chorizo at the included price. Carne assda was three dollars extra or if I wanted all three meats it was five dollars extra. I probably should've not done this, but I paid for all three. I walked around while I waited. After seeing everything in the entire place, I took a seat near the Pick-up counter. While I was waiting there, the guy who was cooking was complaining about so many things. The one thing that really was upsetting is he said something along the lines of "people have to wait for their food anyways." this guy is angry and bitter, and does not like his job. The wait was oddly long I was tempted to ask them to cancel my order but I waited. The Third employee handing me my food with a smile in a box no bag no napkins no nothing. I guess those were self served, but would've been nice if he had said something because I got home and didn't have napkins or anything. The icing on the cake is paid for three meat definitely there's no bacon in here and I think I found one piece of Carne Asada so I paid five dollars extra basically for a chorizo burrito . There's hardly anything inside of it. I taste more tortilla than the inside. This was the most disappointing burrito. I think I've ever had in my life. I should've gone to the taco shop and gotten a much better burrito. Shame on you, Ranch 45. I don't have the energy to call you or go back and why waste my time and money coming back to complain. Our last visit also took a ridiculous amount of time for one pastrami sandwich. I was waiting in the car while my husband went in. Sad to say I doubt I'll be back here ever again. The atmosphere and ambience are excellent,…read morethe waitstaff is professional and personable, and the kitchen is consistently quick and efficient. This is a place I've visited several times, and normally I leave extremely impressed. Unfortunately, this visit was slightly different. We ordered the Crispy Chicken & Waffles and the Classic French Omelet. Everything was cooked properly and presented well, but both dishes were surprisingly bland. There simply wasn't enough seasoning or flavor to make either dish particularly memorable. For a restaurant that usually delivers much more, this felt unusually flat. I was also surprised by the portion sizes. I've previously been very happy with the generous portions at Toasted, but both of these dishes felt noticeably smaller than expected. To be clear, nothing was poorly cooked. The problem was execution from a flavor and value perspective. When you have good ingredients and everything is technically cooked correctly, but the finished plate still tastes under-seasoned and leaves you wanting more, something has been missed. This was easily our least impressive visit to Toasted. Every other time has been excellent, so I'm inclined to chalk this one up to these particular menu items rather than the restaurant as a whole.

(editing to add this is a French-owned and Black-owned business, in case folks are looking!)…read more I usually come here when I'm doing errands on Cedros - and I usually just want to get my français on and order a café crème and a croissant. But today I needed a little extra je ne sais quoi because my morning was annoying, so I decided to splurge on lunch and not just a pastry here. I asked Steve, the (très beau et gentille!) co-owner what the quiche of the day was. There were two: one with jambon (ham) and one with épinards et fromage de chèvre (spinach and goat cheese). When I hesitated, he told me that the spinach one was amazing. Even though it's $20 for a quiche plate, I decided to go for it. I thought I was going to get a sad little quiche slice for that amount and might regret it. But OMG, it was more than worth it! Already they have a lovely patio on this pretty street in this fancy design district. But it was also a HUGE and exceptionally savory rectangular slice, alongside a DELECTEABLE petite salade. I asked Steve what mustard they use in the vinaigrette, and he said plain old Dijon - but the proportions and the seasoning were EXCELLENT. So it was salad perfection, not heavily dressed at all, just delightful. The patio was full on a Friday with ladies who lunch - but did that include me, as a solo diner, since I am a lady who had lunch? I'm not sure, but you can feel comfortable here no matter what. And now I know Madeleine Cafe is much too good to just come for coffee and for ordering in French from Steve or his co-owner Emmanuel. I don't want to spend that much for lunch every day - but I'll be back!
