Came for the coffee and returned for the gluten-free banana muffin and cookie...so good! They can also serve GF bread for breakfast or no bread if you're Paleo. The brewed coffee is very fresh, but to me it has a slightly sour taste. They are dog-friendly which I think is cool. read more

Great coffee! Enjoy drinking their cortado and Aztec mocha. Nice to have a good coffee option in Cedros - been needed for awhile.

Hands down the best coffee in town. We love both locations but the solana location is better if you are towing kids along. We have been lofty lovers for years!! read more

Stopped by here while checking out the shops on Cedros Avenue. Ordered the Morning Dove Blend daily drip coffee and that was good coffee! Smooth and balanced without tasting bitter/ burnt. read more

Love love love this place!! I get to bring my dog and have delicious coffee and pastries! It is on the expensive side but worth it to me.

I am a big fan of the different offerings that Lofty has- a limited breakfast menu with things like avocado toast with a poached egg, salads with fresh ingredients, and a mocha so buttery and delicious my mouth waters at just the thought. I like their simple menu, it allows them to focus on the quality of each item, which I appreciate. I think as far as their roasting goes, it is good, but not great. They do make up for this with the other quality ingredients that they use, like strauss milk and that homemade ganache....which is delightful. They are a laaaarggge step above Starbucks, Peet's, or C&T Leaf and is definitely worth the trip. This is also a great location for casual business meetings, get some homework/work-work done. read more

I loved my Turkish latte at Lofty Coffee! Turkish lattes are so hard to find and this was a delicious drink. My friend liked her Americano too! The seating area has a number of tables and good ambience. read more

Lofty Coffee is a great addition to Cedros. Although I do wish they had some indoor seating, they have several tables outside and bar style seating facing the street that is perfect for people watching. Their coffee tastes great and the people who work here are very friendly. I know I'll be coming here many more times in the future. read more

Great coffee, great people, lots of good vibes on a great street in Solana Beach. Favorite place to grab cold brew coffee.

It's hard to give a rating when you've only been one time, but I had no reason to lower the stars. Despite having a very small selection of breakfast and expensive pastries, I was sold on the location (darling street close to the beach) Clean atmosphere (open patio cozily tucked under an umbrella-like shade and bulbed-string lights and a suitable menu. I ordered the "Turkish latte". Subtly sweet and you can really taste the cardamom. Definitely an earthy/herby flavor. Not for someone that likes really sweet or loves the flavor of coffee because the cardamom pretty much takes over. But is balanced with a creamy mouthfeel. I liked the unique flavor profile. read more

I absolutely love Lofty Coffee in Encinitas and decided to try out this location with a friend! I always get the Turkish latte and it was perfection as usual for Lofty. Great presentation and it tastes amazing. I've tried quite a bit from their food menu and have loved it all but was incredibly impressed with their new zucchini cranberry muffin I had today. It was moist and flavorful but not too sweet. There were visible pieces of zucchini in the muffin which was a little off putting, but I couldn't even notice when I took a bite. A great place to hang out and catch up with friends, but I wouldn't personally recommend for working or studying as there is a lot going on and since its outside it could be hard to get anything done. Overall it has great vibes, great coffee and great food, you can't go wrong! read more

I just love this place the drinks, the food, and the service all amazing all the time!! I thought they couldn't possibly get any better but now they're even making their own organic green juice. I really love the staff at this location they are all so friendly and nice and they always remember my daughter and I which I think is pretty special. I'm here for breakfast at least once a week since it's one of the only places that serves local farm fresh eggs. I do love all the Lofty locations but this one is my favorite for sure! read more

I love this place sooooo much. The cardamom infused coffee is incredible. They make fresh almond milk daily!!!!! All the ingredients are from close to home and the staff is so cute and hip! read more

This place is absolutely adorable! The indoor/outdoor environment is very relaxing and refreshing! Their staff is very kind and approachable! As well as their decoration is so cute and has a natural feeling!! I ordered the black lavender iced tea and it genuinely taste like lavender!! I recommend this place 100%! read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I often go here to work in the afternoons. The salted caramel latte is my favorite coffee in San Diego and the vegan oatmeal cookie is divine! The location is perfect and I love the atmosphere here. It feels so relaxed. The staff are super friendly and lovely, especially James! The perfect spot for a couple of hours whether it's just for coffee, to read a book or work. read more

Warm staff, good products, but can be chilly outdoors. (Zinc, the former cafe at this location, had outdoor heaters.) Ed. S. read more

The BEST coffee I've ever had! Their salted caramel latte (not salty!) is so smooth. And let them use whole milk, it's what makes it so good! Fun atmosphere and very friendly employees. read more

Often long lines, but worth it for what is in my opinion the best brewed coffee in San Diego. Plenty of shaded and partially shaded outdoor seating with a nice location on Cedros, too. read more

Great coffee. Friendly service. Nice atmosphere to sit and relax and enjoy a coffee anytime of the year.

The Barista was nice but thought the coffee overpriced for my not even filled cup. They only filled it 3/4 of the way. Good thing I guess, because the coffee is not even good. read more

The coffee is excellent and the breakfasts very good. But repeatedly watching staff pet customer dogs and then handle food without washing their hands is, well, disgusting and a dangerous violation of public health laws. read more

The best coffee I have ever had. No bitterness and so smooth. Great to just hang and watch the town go by

Family and business oriented. Best of both worlds and pleasant atmosphere. New place to get my writing done and sip a coffee

This is my go to stop in Solana Beach. My favorite is Iced Caramel Latte, you can't go wrong with this drink. Great outdoor seating, staff is friendly. read more

No, I don't drink coffee. Yes, I am a fan of this place! I used to go to original Encinitas Lofty Coffee because my husband loved their coffee, and the two girls that worked on the weekends were hysterical! I started eating breakfast their.. I can be a food snob and this place is nothing but quality. My usual order landed on the artisan toast (yummmm), with olive oil, tomato and avocado. I know it sounds simple, and maybe boring but at Lofty Coffee, it's not. They use bright, juicy tomatoes (I can never find tomatoes like this on my own), and perfect avocados. The bread is unrivaled. It is truly a treat. I had lunch their for the first time in Solana Beach cafe. They only have two sandwich options, all I need. The sandwich is heaven in my mouth. It comes with a side spinach salad with a dressing that I would describe as a lemony parmesan, delish! If you don't get excited about quality ingredients, this place may seem overpriced to you. If you can seek out quality food with carefully picked produce this won't disappoint. The reason I don't give it 5 stars: -The seating options are limited, everything is outside. If the weather isn't your ideal, you don't have any other options. -Although I am content with a small menu, I may not go often due to lack of variety. -The Solana Beach location doesn't have the same fun vibe as Encinitas. Smiles deserve a star all to themselves, and I haven't received many there yet. read more

Love this place coffee is amazing there special poached eggs and artisan bread are a must try. Shop is always clean and staff is always very friendly even if there is a short line no worries they move people threw fast!! read more

I always like to go to this spot to get a Turkish latte it's my number one spot to get a Turkish coffee just amazing !

This place is super cute and super trendy. The people and staff are friendly but the coffee is not great- kinda sour

Fantastically hipster and good. The coffee shop is right off the main road of Encinitas and right up the road from the state beach. The coffee is amazing and rarely needs any additions. Staff is also social and fun, as well as many of their regulars! read more

Good coffee and nice clean atmosphere. I did not eat here. Not a great selection of baked goods.

Truly disappointed. The renovation of this place creates a sterile feeling. Not a warm, friendly vibe. The help behind the counter has major attitude. We know you are cool but it doesn't mean that you have to be rude and treat people like you are doing us a favor taking their order. I won't be back. read more

Good start and declining rapidly. We liked Lofty at first--fresh food and coffee, nice space, a little slow and mostly pleasant. We have eaten there eight times and will never return after today. We asked for the same thing--eggs with gluten free toast and jam. This time they brought jam already on the bread--very strange with poached eggs. The previous 7 times they served jam and butter on the side. Sent it back. New toast, jam on the side, same eggs now cold, no butter. Asked for butter from greasy haired snotty waiter, who said they never serve butter unless 50cents extra. We said this is a first and he said, well I work here. So we asked for butter, even if 50 cents more, and he never came back. Neither will we. And besides, who needs to pay extra at a place that charges 5.00 for a muffin and 4.50 for weak coffee. Peets a much better bet at half the price and no scorn. Ugh! read more

Have frequented Lofty's many many times... The staff display alot of attitude, it's not cool!!... The cashiers have bad vibe, even the local business's on Cedros agree... I'm giving my business elsewhere, the energy here is not good... Additionally, their food items are awful & overpriced... Lofty's I do not like you anymore... Sayonara! read more

Went to work here with my friends. Spent money on coffee. The internet does not work. How does a coffee shop exist in the 21st century that can't handle more than 15 people working online? It's insane. Had to leave the shop and wasted an hour just trying to load google.com. read more

Aztec Mocha is my favorite !!! It's a beautiful place with positive energy. Very friendly staff

Welcome to my favorite coffee place at the moment ... The quality of the coffee here rivals anything L.A has to offer including intellegencia ( says my fanatical coffee enthusiast sister who lives in la) my sister would drag me too there flag ship stores 20 mins away to leucadia every day.. On the east side of the street you can see where they brew the coffee and get a coffee to sit with a vegan chocolate chip cookie to rival any cookie I have ever eaten. If you want a to go cup or eggs with there fantastic gluten free bread ( which has goat cheese ) it's truly delicious heirloom tomatoes and avocado maybe some chicken sausage if your heart desires. This review is for the Solana beach branch where you can get any of these items wonderful teas or some interesting sugared coffee drinks. The vibe and staff is always fun only real problem is waiting for a seat can sometimes be annoying. I was upset too see zinc go, they seemed to stop trying a while ago but lots of fond memories there if it has to be replaced I am glad that it was Lofties... I would say the vibe is yuppie educated surfer type but I am cool with that . See you all there read more

coffee is subjective and in my opinion the coffee isn't great here, if you want another cup get back in line and pay full price for just regular coffee. they charge you extra for butter and jam on a croissant, wow! another poser palace with a bit of attitude. of course the orange juice comes in a mason jar, it's way too thick and mine was sour. I was on the verge of a three, but the toilet paper thick napkins put me under the top, sorry read more

Two thumbs up for their coffee and breakfast, if you're willing to pay top dollar.... Lovely location and this area needs more indie coffee shops, so yay. Total thumbs down on lunch. For 8.50, I ordered an arugula salad. It features figs. It's high fig season. But the figs turned out to be dried - what a letdown. A rather scant amount of salad for the money, with only a sprinkle of the other three ingredients, and when I asked for bread, they said with a straight face that they charge 1.25 per slice. A little insulting, frankly. Since I'm not a trust fund hipster, I'm unimpressed. read more

I was super excited to try this spot. Organic milk, organic coffee! However, the gal who took my order at the register (manager?) was QUITE rude and impatient with my questions. And VERY nice to the obviously regulars (she knew them by name) who came in after me. I will not go back to this location out of principle. And... the latte was only okay in my book. Super cool little spot... the menu looks great, with a fair amount of organic ingredients. Probably try Encinitas and see if they are friendlier. read more

Good coffee, nice place. BUT it's obscenely expensive. For this very reason, I won't return. I'm not interested in being fleeced.
