10/10 experience!! This restaurant was recommended to me with such high praises... I'm so glad to share that I too...can also pass on the high praises to the next person about Loetje.... It was very cute and cozy inside, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I didn't have a reservation, but luckily I was able to get seated right away. For my drink, I ordered the Pink Pornstar Martini, it was so good I ordered two! It had gin, raspberry and lemon. For my appetizer I ordered the salmon croquettes, it was very rich in taste, and a good starter! For the main course!!- I ordered the Loetje's tenderloin. Now *disclaimer*, if you do not like your steak medium rare, you might want to consider another dish. It states on the menu that that IS how it's cooked, and that it's been the tradition for years. I'm actually more of a medium well type of gal, but because of how great I heard the steak was, I took the risk... And I'm so glad I did! Loetje's tenderloin is served with a butter sauce and paired with THEE most scrumptious fries. It also comes with toast, the purpose is for dipping it into that delicious sauce. To my surprise, (considering I've never eaten a medium rare steak), I LOVED my dish!! That steak was devoured, and oh my goodness the fries and toast? That plate was almost wiped clean!! Per usual yall know I am greedy! So I ordered a Salted Caramel coffee, and paired it with the crème brûlée dessert and WOW! The waffle and the jam? Quite the combination.... While I'm sure there are other amazing restaurants Amsterdam has to offer, I definitely see myself returning here

Ambience: not crowded initially but within 20 minutes, it was packed, noisy, and not a pleasant experience. Service: not enough servers so it was a little discouraging that we had to wait a bit to give our order and the service was not exactly kind, welcoming, or inviting me to return. HOWEVER The food, in my opinion, was tasty, seasoned well, and very nicely presented. I had the tuna sandwich, lettuce/tomatoes/pickles were a nice touch, not overwhelming, and the tuna was very good. The bread was fresh, crunchy, and easy to bite into. Overall, filling and satisfying. Hubby ordered the steak, with two pieces of white bread to soak up the juices and butter from the steak. Nice one! Different but a pleasant surprise. The fries, and I do love the thicker cut fries, were crispy and tasty, although I do agree that a touch more salt would've been better AND ketchup, not mayo or whatever creamy sauce was added. I would return again for the food...but perhaps I would try a different location.

Steak in garlic sauce was amazing! Cook to perfect medium rare with fantastic juices. Highly recommend for something different.

As a first time visitor to Amsterdam, I wanted to ~treat myself~ to a nice dinner and was recommend to try Loetje. This location is fairly convenient since it's near the Amsterdam Central Station. They are know for their beef tenderloin, and it was truly delicious; I wish i would've gotten the largest size instead of the medium. The gravy it comes with is delicious as well. There are also lots of sides to choose from; I opted for the mushrooms but should've gone with a different side (looked like the frites were a good portion and pretty popular).

A very straightforward menu that is done very well. Do you want a medium rare steak? Come on in...excellent service and food. The side are for the whole table... the steaks are really good and we had great, attentive service.

Highly recommend Definitely get the beef tenderloin. The gravy is amazing it's beef gravy with melted butter and seasoning. They only cook it medium rare. 10:10 We also ordered shrimp croquettes. Very tasty great for sharing. 10/10 The smoked salmon appetizer was great. It's stacked on wontons. Not as easy to share, but delicious. Served with ginger and soy sauce. Dessert. Creme brulee. Great portion. 10/10. The homemade iced tea taste sweet with flavors of peach. Excellent service. The view of the canal can't be beat.

First time in Europe, first stop Amsterdam. Nice place centrally located. Came here for a birthday gathering of 22 relatives from the USA and the Caribbean. Trendy, centrally located on the canal, near the train stations. Plenty of ambiance, happening place with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The place is clean, fairly good prices and good food. The only negative is you have to use your credit card and are charged 1 Euro to use the bathroom. I understand European culture is different but our bill was over $3,000. Even though we were a party of 22 the waitress Demi did a great job serving us. I hope the owners read this and realize how valuable she is to the business. I would hire her in a minute. She really shows care for the customers and makes sure they are enjoying the dinner. They are know for their Beef Tenderloin Bali steak which comes with an awesome sauce Cooked with a lot of butter. Most of us had the steak, I had the tuna steak rare which was excellent. We also had the beef carpaccio appetizer and shrimp croquet appetizer for the table. We also had a few bottles of Barolo red wine and a lot of mixed drinks and beer. The most interesting drink we had was the Pornstar martini. We had a few awesome deserts including the apple pie and ice cream, the dame Blanche and a piece of cake for the birthday boy. The coffee and tea we were very good as well. I liked my ginger tea which was real slices of ginger. I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend them if you are in Amsterdam.

    0% alcohop IPA. Love it

The location is amazing as well as the food. I will come back for sure and it is 100% recommended

I never liked beef, but I love steak now. So tender and garlic gravy was fantastic. I ate all fries with garlic gravy.

    Shrimp-Croquette

Views are very nice along the canal but the service and food were very ordinary. The Salmon Sandwich was nothing to remember and the shrimp Croquettes had no flavors either. They really need to improve upon there taste of food for sure.

Loetje is a pretty restaurant with a beautiful outdoor seating area with a stunning view of Amsterdam. It was a gorgeous day and I would have loved to enjoy a cocktail and bask in the sun. Unfortunately with COVID, they do not have enough employees to open the terrace. Only a portion of the restaurant was open. Before 4PM, you can sit anywhere inside. The menu is varied with traditional Dutch items or healthier options. Service was good and prices are fair. I was unable to login on the wifi. My friends love to eat dinner here.

We were able to get seated right on the window area. We chose menu 5, which was just enough for two people. Everything was delicious! Their pea soup is out of this world. Don't know why as it is a simple dish but wow! I also love their herring. It was so delicious that I wanted seconds. It paired so well with their onions and mustard. And their bitterballen was just enough bite. Creamy and crispy! We also got a combination of the hutspot. They were all delicious! Although for me the meatball was just a tad bit salty but it is probably just me! Everything else was spot on. I love their dessert at the end. It was a great way to end the night. Our server and their staff were all amazing! Very friendly and welcoming. Yes it is a tourist spot but totally worth it.

We did not have one but they were happy to seat the 2 of us and invited us to switch tables once another couple left (they were checking out). Small space, can accommodate groups of 2-4, cozy atmosphere, lots of the traditional blue and white ceramics on the wall (dishes and tiles). Traditional Dutch cuisine: we ordered the Boerenkoolstamppot with smoked sausage and Zuurkoolstamppot with smoked sausage and a slice of apple pie to share for dessert. The food arrived piping hot in about 20 minutes. It was sooo delicious--the tasty juicy sausage pairs perfectly the mashed potatoes with either sauerkraut or kale. The apple pie was also tasty--larger chunks of apple and more spices less sugar than American apple pie from what I can tell. Perfect with whipped cream. A must visit if you're in Amsterdam and want to try traditional fare. Highly recommended!

Located on the Rozengracht, it's super central and easy to get to from just about anywhere in the Jordaan or the Center. * The Atmosphere: It's dark, moody, and has a very cool "late-night" energy. Even if you aren't sure what it is from the street, the vibe inside is unmistakable. * The Food: If you like meat, this is your spot. The burgers are massive and juicy, and the ribs literally fall off the bone. * The Vibe: It's a bit louder and more energetic than a standard restaurant, making it perfect for a night out with a group or a casual date with great cocktails. It gets incredibly busy, so even though it feels like a "hidden" spot from the outside, you'll definitely want to book a table ahead of time. Overall: A total neighborhood win. We entered and seated ourselves, and within 5 minutes, a staff person greeted us, brought us a flask of tap water (tastes great and clean) and two glasses, and gave us menus. We ordered a short rib sandwich for him and a chicken Caesar sandwich for me. These come à la carte but you can add sides if you want. I was glad we didn't because the portion was generous. One thing I've noticed here is that the bread is always high quality--our sandwiches came in baguettes about 8 inches long --I had to cut mine in half to eat it lol. Both were savory and flavorful and satisfying. The meat was tender and well seasoned. We savored every bite! They both had crispy bacon in them as well. Very filling! Just what we needed to energize us after our morning at Keukenhof!
