Our first trip to the Sun River resort and we chose to have breakfast both mornings at Carson's. The place was lovely with beautiful big windows to enjoy the mountains and golf courses. The kitchen is an open kitchen where you can see the chefs cooking. Our server Sandy welcomed us with a big smile and hot coffee. She was a delight and served us well and we enjoyed conversation with her. What a great asset she is to Carson's. Great menu with lots of choices and they use local NW foods and fresh ingredients. I totally enjoyed the Brioche French Toast with strawberry and blueberry, lemon curd and creme anglais. It was so lovely to look at but I dug right in and it was delicious. The taste of the lemon curd with the French toast and syrup was so good. I ate every bite and almost licked the plate to get the last bit of lemon curd! Hubby had the Spanish omelette with potatoes. It was huge and he said tasted very fresh and not over cooked. The bacon was local and had good flavor. I highly recommend eating at Carson's. It is pricy but remember you are at a resort! read more

Great atmosphere service is always on par. Food quality is consistently good. There is a great lunch menu for $12 sandwich and soup or salad. We always get the fried dill pickles as a side they are a nice extra to a perfect meal. We regularly visit and have not yet been disappointed. read more

Loved our multi course dinner! Chefs pick with options. Highly recommend. Salad, soup, palate cleansing cucumber sorbet, main course and desert. They also offer wine paring for each as smaller sizes so you can try suggested wines with out buying a full glass. Pomegranate sorbet with a lemon curb with crushed hazel nuts! A new Favorite. We were in Sunriver for the Chocolate Showcase. Following a great time enjoying all of the chocolate and goodies they had to offer, we decided to have lunch at Carson's and we are glad we did. The food, service, and view were great! From our booth we had a great view of Mt. Bachelor. We started with the Brussel sprouts, which were tasty. For our entrees we had the Pulled Pork and the Cheese Steak sandwiches. Each were very good! To top it all off, our server, Larry was fantastic. He made sure that we felt very welcome and had everything we needed over the course of our meal. He was very knowledgable about the menu and was very personable. Will be back soon! read more

I was sorely disappointed in our Christmas dinner. Living in Sunriver with the high expectations which surround the area I never thought I would have such a poor experience. My parents treated my and my kids to what we thought would be a wonderful dinner. They made reservations way in advance and was told they could have a booth and a window seat. We got there 30 minutes early and they did bring us in which created more of a frustration. They would not accommodate us with a window seat nor with a booth. Instead they put us in the far back corner, furthest from the windows and closest to the exit. This was inexcusable as they only had 5 other families dining at this time and by the time we left, 3 of those were replaced with only 2 other families. They told us they could not give us a booth nor a window seat as others were coming to dine there. We told them we were promised both when the reservations were made but they just kept saying they were sorry but would not give us what we asked for. This was followed by our 3 of our salads being messed up (wrong size and order) as well as one soup. We had to wait several times for the "kitchen" to get our order correct. I only got 1 brussel sprout with my meal, which was supposed to be my vegetable and both of my kids steaks came out mooing (keeping this kid friendly), which ruined both of their appetites. With the amount that was spent for this Christmas dinner, they should have accommodated our seating arrangements, at the very least. They didn't even give us a discount for all we had to put up with. Shame on you. At least our server was kind and embarrassed for everything. This was service I haven't even gotten at a cheap restaurant. There are much better places to eat in Sunriver - Sunriver Bar and Grill (always kind and great food) and Sunriver Brewery. read more

Excellent food! Great service, and the restaurant views make you want to slow down your meal so that you can stay longer. I love the burger. Clearly from a high grade local farmer, as well as the homemade bun, fries and ketchup. Definitely a cut above restaurants found in hotels. read more

We've eaten here 3 or 4 times over the years and this last time we ended up here to visit the beautiful Christmas light display. It's fantastic. We were hungry and decided to get a bite to eat. Our waitress was very nice but our food was , as usual, a big MEH, super un creative, boring( and as my High school English teacher used to say "a monument to mediocrity).My husband had the seafood pasta and the tiniest Caesar salad I've ever seen ( in like a sherbet bowl). This came with unbuttered WHITE BREAD toast. The pasta had no flavor in a white watery broth with maybe a hint of wine flavor. Seriously under seasoned. My chicken vegetable soup was mostly canned green beans in a greasy brown broth with lots of tarragon ( I believe). There may have been chicken in it somewhere but I never saw it. The last time we ate here my husband had a boring dry hamburger. I had an ahi tuna sandwich on that crappy dry white bread. All this to say is extremely over priced and I'd advise anyone to maybe have a drink or cocktail , maybe enjoy the scenery ,and drive to Bend or La Pine or anywhere for a much better meal! We've stayed here a few times and for such a lovely place it REALLY should get their food act together! read more

Finally good food for a travell8ng family. We have been getting by on basically pub food since starting our vacation and we're pleased to take advantage of another few options. My husband liked the Brussel sprouts, my kids loved the o to dog (ok neither of those are much healthier than pub food, really...) the hummus plate was great and I enjoyed my chicken. I visited Carson's for breakfast on a Sunday morning. My fried egg sandwich was terribly over cooked. The egg was solid, with the yolk as firm as a hard boiled egg. Really disappointing for such a lovely venue. Prices are also quite steep; $3.50 for a coffee, and then I have to ask the server to refill my cup because she is not paying attention. read more

If you are fond of a bit of glass in your food then Carson's is good. After I pointed it out to my server, he brought dessert for the whole table (there were 6 of us.) I was just thankful that it was my meal and not my 3 year old daughter's dinner that was affected. No member of management approached me to ask about the incident after I reported it. Had lunch here today. We had the onion soup that was very tasty. The duck nuggets which you should pass on and the veggie pita with grilled chicken that was good as well and came with very good frys. Sandy was our waitress today at Carson's and I. Even my review with her because she was soooo delightful and contributed greatly to our wonderful brunch experience. My husbands twin lakes benedict was perfect. The Bloody Mary ranks up there with the best and the peach Bellini and Blood orange mimosa were both great. I had a gluten free banana pancake with peanut butter, bananas and granola and real maple syrup. Delicious! Top it off with a clear, crisp sunny day in Sunriver! We shall return. read more

Ok. Lodge food always suspect, right? Here's an exception. Dinner last night, breakfast this morning: remarkable. Well-wrought cocktails, Mahi mahi fish tacos, local prime select beef, soup of day a handmade split pea with Lodge-smoked bacon and pork belly...and a server who was always there a heartbeat before we realized we needed something and vamoos otherwise....breakfast steak & eggs a flatiron which I kid you not was about as tender as any I have ever encountered. The hot fresh cinnamon doughnut holes over the top (and in a take-out box) as promised by Sandy who was as sweet and delightful and deft as any server could be. This is not hotel food. It is not great hotel food. It's just a great experience overall. read more

Sandy was our waitress she was great and the food was amazing. Open concept kitchen really caught my eye. Loved being able to look in and watch my food being made. The view from our booth was beautiful, could see the mountain. There was a server with a mimosa and Bloody Mary cart walking around offering drinks to all the guest. Waited a half an hour to get seated. After seated, had not seen a server in 15 minutes. Asked hostess to send over server. Watched server respond with attitude. Waited 5 more minutes... Still no server. Finally left hungry after 50 minutes after arrival. We always had good experiences in the old restaurant at the lodge. Won't be back to this one. read more

Recently tried out the "re inspired" restaurant at the Sunriver Resort main lodge for dinner. Underwhelmed to say the least. Decor is nice and that was it. Food wasn't great, service was poor. Appetizer arrived before our waters. Wanted a glass of wine, told the server I was going to order a glass after I looked over the list but she didn't come back to check in until after a food runner brought our meal. It wasn't very busy on a Monday night. Husband ordered the burger, daughters ordered a Caesar salad and pesto pasta, I opted for the fried chicken. Not one dish was outstanding. We found ourselves wishing we had gone anywhere else. Two stars for the setting/decor/convenience to our vacation home. read more

The staff was amazing, specifically our server, Ronda. The food was good, it would've been so much better if there weren't so many flies. We were constantly batting them off of our food. Service and overall attention to detail lacks. My wife and I went for dinner. There was food all over the floor of the table they sat us at. Our waitress took over 15 minutes to get us water and over 45 min for a chefs salad and tacos to get to us. Mind you, it wasn't busy. When placing our order the waitress said she would bring bread by the table, bread hadn't arrived until mid way through our meals. Wouldn't recommend this place.
