He stayed in close touch from his mobile phone and showed up the next morning at 8:30 AM along with his assistant. They stopped by enroute to two garage door installation jobs. Wellington and his helper fixed all the malfunctions in about 45 minutes. Efficient, knowledgeable, courteous, and explained what went wrong and how it was fixed. Fast forward to today -- after a couple of calls to finally get someone on the phone they came out to go over both of our doors and fine tune them and we were also having problems with the outside entry pad on one door. The service tech that came out barely worked on either of our doors and he just said we have to change the battery on the key pad. Never looked at the seals or oiled any of the rollers. And the keypad still does not work even after I changed the battery because according to the tech "they don't do that part". So after $$ later my doors and keypad are the same as before the tech arrived. He said we can call them back out to look at the keypad again but who knows if they will actually do any work this time. No thanks. I only gave them 2 stars because the tech was on time. This is not the same Doug's as in years past.

I was working through a home warranty company and needed a quote that met their specific approval requirements before the repair or replacement could be authorized. After inspecting the unit, David provided a quote exactly in the format I needed for the warranty company to review. Once the work was approved, I scheduled the installation with David. He arrived on time and was once again very professional and easy to work with. After installing the new garage door opener, he noticed that my garage door itself was out of alignment and not properly balanced. Although this wasn't covered by my warranty, David took the time to fix the issue, lubricate the door, and properly balance it at no additional charge. My garage door is now functioning better than it did when it was first installed. Before contacting D2 Garage Doors, I had two other companies provide quotes that were over $200 higher than David's--and that was just for replacing the opener without addressing the additional issues. I highly recommend David and D2 Garage Doors for any garage door repairs or service. I will definitely be calling D2 again in the future if I need any additional work done.

HUGE rave: David - D2 Garage Door…read more My garage door completely broke on me this evening around 6pm. It was a major break that was also a major expense and I was terrified of us having to replace the entire garage door from the damages. I called around, as my go-to guy (David) was out with his family and, unfortunately, I wasn't able to get anyone out. I reached out one more time to David, and he let me know he would come by after they got home. Guys, it was 9pm. He saved my ass. My garage door would NOT shut. No way, no how. The spring broke, and the top corners completely snapped (see pictures) from it trying to go down anyways. He came and spent over an hour working on it (while explaining it all to me and showing me what happened, and how he was fixing each individual issue). His fix, I know, will last and I feel so confident in that after seeing his work and the MUCH stronger parts that he replaced the broken ones with. Instead of me having to get a whole new garage door, he put metal braces where the top broke, on either side, to ensure it holds strong. The old spring was so tiny, they put it inside of the skinny metal bar (that David also replaced), and put this spring on. It's about 4x larger than the broken one, way more durable, and my garage is now quieter than it's ever been since my house was built in 2020. He is a prime example why it's important to support local small businesses and I'm beyond grateful to him (and his family!) for the help and time he chose to dedicate to my garage instead of being with his family, or getting much deserved sleep! Garage door spring broke, searched online for garage door repair. Found "Dan's Garage Door Repair"…read morein my hometown, Buda. The website was clean and straightforward, listing off the services they provided and some coupons. The site had a handy calendar for online booking of repair services, so I used that, which was easy to do. On the confirmation page, it said to expect a call from the technician half an hour before my selected time slot and that if I didn't pick up, they'd cancel the appointment. I received that call almost three hours early (and subsequently missed the call with no voice mail left), so that was frustrating. However, I did get another call about two hours after my timeslot and that time I was able to pick up the phone. The technician let me know he was enroute to my location. The timing still worked fine for me, so whatever. Eric was friendly and right to the point about the problem and cost. I inquired about the coupon I'd found online for $25 off spring replacement and he applied it to the cost prior to tax. That was appreciated. I let him do his thing. Took under an hour (charged $200 for service and $250 for the parts... a little gnarly if you ask me but not like I have the time to teach myself how to repair a garage door spring, so what choice did I really have?). Came with a 6-year warranty and 30-days free service if something else goes wonky in that time window. (Yeesh, it better not.) They accepted check, so I wrote a check because I wanted to avoid the 3% fee for cards. Apparently, they also laughably take Zelle. Noticed the vehicle the technician arrived in was labelled "Nexa Garage Door Repair" instead of Dan's. Eric was upfront about this; apparently, they operated multiple garage door repair places under multiple names and are now merging them all into one. Dunno how to feel about that. But I guess I don't have to feel any way in particular about it cuz my garage door is fixed and hopefully I never have to do it again. I was specifically asked to write this review on the Google platform, which I did in addition to this one. Ordinarily I do all my reviews through Yelp. To be clear, Eric himself was 4-stars. But the exorbitant pricing and wonky scheduling brought my overall rating down.

I'd submitted my email to get their online coupons. Pricing was very good and didn't waiver (no upsell, no hidden charges, etc). And the service provided was just what we wanted/needed. We'd been having an intermittent issue with the door stopping a foot or two short. This type of issue can be hard to diagnose sometimes when the issue isn't obvious. I had several back-n-forth emails with Dan (owner) wherein he gave me various instructions on things to check/tweak in case I was able to fix it myself. I'd let him know that I'd replaced the motor etc myself awhile back and that I could likely handle a few basic tasks. I think most garage door repair companies would simply want to send a technician out. It's a business after all. And among other things, businesses exist to make money. So I was pleasantly surprised when he kept trying to solve my problem without having to send anyone out ... and without billing us. In the end, I did ask that they send someone out after I'd exhausted my abilities. During their first visit, Miguel and his brother performed a tune up, checked and adjusted the belt tension, installed new ball bearing rollers as ours were really old, installed the new sensors that I had sitting on a shelf that'd come with the new motor, and lubricated everything. The door stopped again (just once) several days later. So I asked that they come back over. Miguel came by himself this second visit and checked everything out and determined that the problem is likely due to a bent panel section on the door that's flexing a little. We were given a suggested fix but it's just not worth spending the money on at this time. Of course, no charge for this follow up visit. I also ended up having a thorough conversation with Miguel regarding the garage door industry -- specifically the ethics more or less with some companies. We talked about how some companies may overcharge, some may take advantage of folks who just don't know better, some may perform unnecessary services ... all to get a bigger payday. He spoke VERY highly of his employer (Dan) and the team with whom he works. He came across as being proud to be working for an upstanding company that can help people without taking advantage of them. It's nice (and too rare) to hear someone speak so highly of their job, etc.
