My garage door opener started having power issues due to a short inside the unit, so I contacted David with D2 Garage Doors. From the beginning, David was very personable and professional. I was working through a home warranty company and needed a quote that met their specific approval requirements before the repair or replacement could be authorized. After inspecting the unit, David provided a quote exactly in the format I needed for the warranty company to review. Once the work was approved, I scheduled the installation with David. He arrived on time and was once again very professional and easy to work with. After installing the new garage door opener, he noticed that my garage door itself was out of alignment and not properly balanced. Although this wasn't covered by my warranty, David took the time to fix the issue, lubricate the door, and properly balance it at no additional charge. My garage door is now functioning better than it did when it was first installed. Before contacting D2 Garage Doors, I had two other companies provide quotes that were over $200 higher than David's--and that was just for replacing the opener without addressing the additional issues. HUGE rave: David - D2 Garage Door My garage door completely broke on me this evening around 6pm. It was a major break that was also a major expense and I was terrified of us having to replace the entire garage door from the damages. I called around, as my go-to guy (David) was out with his family and, unfortunately, I wasn't able to get anyone out. I reached out one more time to David, and he let me know he would come by after they got home. Guys, it was 9pm. He saved my ass. My garage door would NOT shut. No way, no how. The spring broke, and the top corners completely snapped (see pictures) from it trying to go down anyways. He came and spent over an hour working on it (while explaining it all to me and showing me what happened, and how he was fixing each individual issue). His fix, I know, will last and I feel so confident in that after seeing his work and the MUCH stronger parts that he replaced the broken ones with. Instead of me having to get a whole new garage door, he put metal braces where the top broke, on either side, to ensure it holds strong. The old spring was so tiny, they put it inside of the skinny metal bar (that David also replaced), and put this spring on. It's about 4x larger than the broken one, way more durable, and my garage is now quieter than it's ever been since my house was built in 2020. He is a prime example why it's important to support local small businesses and I'm beyond grateful to him (and his family!) for the help and time he chose to dedicate to my garage instead of being with his family, or getting much deserved sleep! Broken spring on double garage door. The tech was very quick. Says he's been doing this for 18 years. I can see he's very experienced. All of his movements seemed part of an efficient choreography and he could reach precisely for his tools in his tool belt without looking. He could place his ladder precisely without having to adjust it at all. He even showed me how to lubricate it properly and what not to lubricate. This is a small owner operated company. And yet he still manages to take calls 24/7. I can't recommend them more highly. read more

D2 was a business I called to fix my garage door. They stated I needed a new system and if I purchased one on my own, they would install it at a good price. I purchased the new system, called and left a message to set an appointment for the installation. Again and again. This was over a week's time. I left 3 messages and never heard back from them. During this entire time, I am having to manually open and close the garage door. I had to find another company to install the system. read more

David fixes our garage door by putting on a new spring set up last summer. Earlier this summer, he came back to fix a coil issue and has since come back a couple times to troubleshoot why the door kept getting stuck and going back up. Every time I've called him, he's arrived at my house within a few hours. He always explains everything in depth and offers advice on maintenance. Was able to make a same day appointment & he came at the specified time (even was a little early). Immediately gave me a quote based on what he saw, was very knowledgeable & worked very efficiently. Was able to fix my garage door same day. I had gotten 2 other quotes & both times I was told they couldn't help me without giving me a whole new door which was $2,500. First company had even cut my drums on both sides stating that was the "only" way to get my garage door back down. I contacted D2 garage door & he was able to fix my issues for less than $300. Was very polite, kept me updated throughout the process, brought me out to let me know he might have to add an additional piece & the potential cost (but we didn't end up needing it at this time).
